Chapter 6: Thinking About What to Do Next

Diedrek

Finally, the auction is over. All vampires are happy with their purchases. Talk has died down on the earlier events from the night. Which is good, it may make it easier to deal with my father once I make my way to the castle, and into his wing here in a few moments.

Crack, crack, crack my neck snaps as I turn it to the side. I'm certain I have many knots in my shoulders and back as well with all the stress from earlier. Not that I am too worried about it. I have my blood mate in my quarters now. I'm sure I can think of many ways she could help me deviate the stress. A conniving smile forms on my lips at the thought.

"I know that look, someone is excited about having his very own blood mate at the present time." Looking over at the voice to my right, I can see Darius standing there with his arms folded over his chest, with his own smile upon his lips.

"You could say that." I say with a shrug of my shoulders as I walk his way, giving him a nod so he will follow me down the stairs. I begin talking with him telepathically. I don't need anyone else listening in on our conversation.

'How is she doing?' I have to know for certain she's doing okay before I make my way to speak with my father. If she isn't I have to know now? She is my top priority.

'She's fine, well as fine as a human in her situation can be.' Darius grabs my arm, bringing our walk to a halt.

'Do you know how this is possible.' Before I can give him a proper answer, he places a finger along his own lips. Quieting my response.

'Not that I'm not happy that you have found your blood mate. Many of our kind go their entire lives without being able to find them. And here you have found yours at the early age of twenty. I just don't understand because she's human. I've never heard of a human being a vampire's blood mate.' Darius releases my arm. Giving me a lot to think about as we continue our walk.

"Neither have I, which is why we are going to the Archives after I speak with my father. To do some research on the matter." I can't help but laugh as I hear him release a groan from behind me.

"Is that your way of telling me I'm on my own with this project?" I turn my face to the side, looking at him long enough to see the shake of his head.

"No, you know damn well I'm here to help in any way I can." Turning around I take a moment to show him my gratitude with a nod of my head. When I turn back around, we continue our journey. I have a lot of research to do on my little human.

I'm hoping to make sense of all this. I want to be sure that if I must change her, I can do it without it bringing any harm to her. I'm not positive on how it will work because I, myself, have never heard of a situation like this. The one I find myself in at this very moment.

It's important to know what to expect will happen to her once I try. I know she won't be too happy about the fact of having to be changed into a vampire. Especially with her being a member of the Rebels, but it must be done if we are both to survive the rest of our lives.

Something is telling me she will put up quite a fight with me. She won't go willingly with my plan. Not that I will find myself minding in the least. I love a good hunt, but in the end, she will have to face the fact that it will happen. Because there is no way we can live without one another from this point on.

Vampires that lose or are denied by their blood mate don't live long in life. They become too saddened from the rejection and loss they just give up. Then, their blood mate feels the pain and misery every day.

Many don't make it too long in life after they're rejected either. I'm not going to let that happen to me. I'll be damned if I will let that happen to her in any way! She is mine, and I will take care of her in every way, with all my soul. We need each other more then she knows.
