II

Octavia grinned and whipped around to the door. I could see her practically shaking in excitement. I didn't blame her.

I began to feel my heartbeat begin to rise in anticipation. Despite the fact that we are all probably going to die, I was excited.

No one has experienced the Earth in a century. Back on the Ark, I used to dream about the ground. The way the soil would feel between my toes, the way the trees would whistle and sway in the wind, the brightness of the colours, the beach. Everything.

Bellamy placed his hands on the lever and looked to Octavia.

"You ready?" He asked, smirking.

She nodded and he opened the door. I had to look away, as did most of the others because the brightness was white and blinding.

When I could open my eyes again, I looked to see Octavia slowly making her way down the ramp. She paused at the bottom and hesitated.

A second later, she pounced onto the ground, threw her arms up and yelled,

"We're back bitches!"

All of a sudden, people started barging past me and hollering. It was like a stampede as they all trampled into the forest.

I slowly made my way down the ramp and I breathed in deeply. The air smelt sweet, if that were possible, and I grinned wide.

I took my left foot and placed it on the ground, followed by the right, and slowly enough, my feet felt something other than metal for the first time.

The ground felt spongy in a way that I had never experienced before and I laughed aloud.

Around me people danced, jumped, screamed, hollered and enjoyed themselves as they rode the high that being on the ground brought them.

I saw Clarke make her way towards the trees and I followed her. I figured I may as well make as many friends as I could. Even if I only had a limited amount of life left.

I saw the kid, Spacewalker, as I heard he was called, follow after her as well and I caught up quickly.

"Hey, I'm Alex. I just wanted to say hi," I interrupted them, waving my hand awkwardly.

"Finn," Spacewalker replied.

"Clarke."

I shook their outstretched hands one at a time and I turned up to see what they had been looking at.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked.

"See that mountain over there?" Clarke asked, pointing at a prominent peak in the distance. I nodded, somewhat confused.

"That's Mount Weather. There's a radioactive soaked forest between us and our next meal," she sighed and dropped her hands to her sides.

"They dropped us on the wrong damn mountain," I realised, blood turning cold in my veins.

A/n: let me know what you guys think? I'm worried you guys aren't liking it. Should I continue or nah?
