The next day goes by like any other day. Me waking up late, my mom yelling at me to wake up early, my brother running around the house to gather his things, my dad reading his newspaper and telling all the headlines to us, and the boss of the house- my mom putting all the things together for our day to go well.

I present you the daily morning routine of Adams' House, everybody!

"Bye, love you both!" I run down the stairs and wish my parents goodbye. My brother takes the hold of our car keys from the key holder beside the front door and we immediately run towards our car. We reach to our sides and Ben throws the keys in the air and I catch them in style.

"Nice!" Ben compliments me, an I soon take us on the road.

"Emma, we're getting late. Now it's not the time to stick to the slow driving," Ben whines beside me.

I glare at him sharply. "That's why you don't get to drive the car. Rules are rules, they are not meant to be broken, you brainless idiot."

"C'mon, Sis, Even turtles can run faster than the speed this car is going."

I take offence to it. "Hey! I'm going at a reasonable speed, okay?! You're are feeling that because we're getting late. Besides, we're already late. There's no use in driving like a car racer."

Ben falls back into his seat, frustrated. Even I'm a little worried that we're going to be late but that doesn't mean I have to drive off like 'The Flash'. It's our utmost responsibility to stick to the traffic rules. If we are careless and only think about us, then someone is going to loose their loved ones for that day.

Luckily, we reach the school just when the warning bell rings. I park my car gently and swiftly make our way towards our respective classes, but not forgetting to say our goodbyes to each other.

As soon as the bell rings to signal for our lunch break, I dash through the class door excitedly as if someone told me that One Direction is here to meet us.

Oh how exciting would it really be if they were here!

I burst through the cafeteria doors and go to the food counter. Since I forgot to take my lunch with me today, I get to buy the food from our school. The food is not too tasty, but it's just fine. I get a plate of Pasta with a side of French Fries and make my way to my usual table. Since I came way too early, I'm the first one among my friends to reach my table and start eating.

I know that I have to wait for them, but if I did my food will loose it's heat, and the important reason is....I don't want to share it with them.

Am I being bad? Yes. Do I care? Hell nah. Every person needs to be selfish when it comes to food.

"I cannot believe you started without us," I jolt in my seat and look up to meet a very disappointed face of Zach. "Really, Emma?"

I pull out the most innocent face and shrug my shoulders. Mason slides besides me, placing the food tray on the table. "Are you blind, Zach? She practically finished her lunch."

I jump in to defend myself. "Hey! I didn't 'practically' finish my lunch, I still have some Pasta and Fries left on my plate," I use air quotes for the word 'practically'. "Besides, I was starving. A girl gotta prioritise food before friends."

Mason rolls his eyes, not trying to argue with me because he knows that he's gonna loose anyway. Kevin, Dawn, and Sophia finally reach our table and we soon engage ourselves in conversations.

"So what's the hot topic we're gonna discuss about?" I direct my question to my friends, whilst I use a tissue to wipe my mouth.

"You!" Dawn and Sophia say, or rather shout in unison.

I draw my eyebrows close in utter confusion. What the hell are they talking about?

"Oh, yeah! You have reached the top 2 of the 'Gossip Mill of The Edgar High School'" Kevin chimes in.

Mason takes the honour to explain it to me. "The students are talking about the 'soda bottle hitting Jay' incident."

My pupils dilate as I take in the information. All I can manage out of my mouth is a simple 'Oh'. How the hell did it travel so fast? And why the students of our school had to make a big deal out of this? Is it because it involves the golden boy of our school?

"Is it that bad?" I ask Mason, the fear in the pit of my stomach building slowly. Oh, joy! This feels so surreal to me.

Sophia extends her hand from across the table and places her palm on the back of my hand. "It's fine, Em. This is going to fade off as fast as it came. We're here with you."

"And if some guy tries to make fun of you, we are more than ready for our fists to make a contact with their faces," Kevin balls his fingers in his palms and rubs it with the other hand, sending me a reassuring smile.

"What if it's girls who tries to make fun of her?" The dumbo of our group, Zach asks us with food in his mouth. I scrunch up my nose in disgust.

"We got it covered." Dawn winks at me and I smile.

"So the whole Jay incident has reached number 2 in this school?" I look at my friends and they all nod their heads. Wow. "But who's got the 1st position?" I ask them eagerly.

Mason takes the lead to answer me. "It's our Chemistry teacher, whose toupee flew off last week."

And we all laugh out loud recalling that incident.

I balance my books near my chest and walk towards the Chemistry class, whilst making last minute changes in our prank that we're gonna pull off on boys with Dawn and Sophia. We reach and take our usual seats and greet the boys. This is the only class that we six friends have it in common and hence Chemistry being my second favourite subject.

Also the class that I share it with Jay and his friends.

Mr.Wilson, our Chemistry teacher walks into the class just as the bell rings. He sets his bag on the table, takes the attendance, and begins his class. "Okay, class! Today we'll be doing Titrations. First we will be starting off with bases."

Although some students grunt, they still agree. "But what about the partners?" Some girl at the front asks him.

He smiles a little. "Ah, yes! This is going to be your favourite part. Since I'm in a good mood today, I'm going to allow you to pick the partners of your choice."

"Whoo yes!" The whole class cheers with giant smiles shining on their faces. No teacher has given us the freedom to pick our own partners.

Oh this is going to be a good one!

The teacher at the front claps his hands to get our attention. "Hurry up, people! Grab your partners and pick the things from the cabinet behind yours. Grab the things that's been written on the white board."

Kevin walks towards me with an exciting smile. "Heya, partner!"

I return it with my own smile. "Hey, there!"

You must be thinking why I'm not with either Dawn or Sophia. It's obvious that Sophia and Zach picked each other. Dawn and I didn't pick each other because well..........we have had almost set the lab on fire. Almost.

Since we don't want to repeat the mistake, we decide that I pick Kevin, and Dawn picks Mason. Also, me and Kevin make a great duo while we are in Chemistry. Like, one day we combined studied for this Chemistry test that happened last year and I got an A+. So, I don't want to loose my lucky charm.

We both approach our table and rinse the pipette, beakers and conical flask. I look up to say that he forgot to get potassium permanganate solution from the cabinet, but I stop when I see that he is looking at something. I follow the trail and see that Zach and Sophia are goofily smiling at each other, clearly stating that they are happy being lab partners.

"Kevin!" I softly nudge him with my elbows. He snaps out of his thinking and looks at me. "Yeah, what?"

I nod in the direction where he was looking at and place my palm on his broad shoulders. When it clicks in his mind, he gives me sad smile and shrug his shoulders. "They look happy."

"Oh shoot, I forgot to get potassium permanganate solution," Kevin tells me which I already know.

"I was about to tell you that, but it's fine. I'll get it." I go to the back with a beaker in my hand. I fill it upto 50ml and turn back.

Let me tell you something guys. Be careful when you are balancing a beaker with a chemical solution in your hands. If you are clumsy, it may actually fall on someone.

And in my case, it is Jay.
