A couple days later, Alexx sat on her bedroll, tinkering with some parts she had come across. Some were gun parts, others were mechanical parts. She loved to tinker with and build stuff, just working with her hands in general.

Nikolai came and sat next to her, her resting her head on his shoulder. He kissed her head and wrapped an arm around her. Nah, they weren't together. Their relationship was more of a father/daughter, like how her’s with Takeo was an uncle/niece one. It was like that with Jordan too, except Takeo was in the dad position and Nikolai in the uncle position.

“Takeo went to scavenge in the city.” He said “Jordan and your brother went to do a board check.” he hummed. Alexx nodded in response and continued.

A buzz was soon heard and her yelping, dropping the part she was originally holding.

“What happened? Are you okay?” Nikolai asked, looking her worriedly. A certain doctor had looked over at her yelping but reluctantly went back to what he was doing so he wouldn't get caught staring.

“Y-Yea.” Alexx said, rubbing her hand and wrist “Just touched a wrong section and shocked myself.” she said with a small chuckle, Nikolai letting out a relieved breath.

“Don't scare me like that” He rubbed his face. She kissed his cheek,

“Sorry, Nik.” she said and went back to what she had been doing. Nikolai watched her for a bit before leaning back against the wall and looking over at the scientist. Alexx’s head soon did the small tick it normally does when something is about to happen and she put down what she was doing.

“We have company..”
