The Sane

A beautiful blond man was running around his apartment. He tripped over papers and cords, trying to safely make his way to the door. He hopped on his right foot, trying to put on his left shoe.

"Crap, it's the first day and I'm already late TTEBAYO," he angrily shouted. Not looking where he was going, he fell flat on his face. Muttering a few curses, the blonde stood up and ran to the door. He made sure he had everything, then bolted out of his small apartment and slammed the door shut with his foot, not bothering to lock the door.

He ran out the large building into the large city. He tried to hail a cab, but failed miserably. Suddenly, a speeding car stopped right in front of the blond, blowing his hair all over the place. Shit, he thought. The window of the passenger seat rolled down and a man with gray hair yelled, snapping the blond out of his train of thought.
"You getting in or what, Naruto?

"Oh yeah. Sorry, Kakashi," Naruto sheepishly laughed, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand. He opened the door to the yellow taxi and got in. Kakashi drove away before Naruto had a chance to close the car door. "Shit! Kakashi, how have you not gotten a speeding ticket yet," the blond shrieked. Kakashi only smirked as he sped up, ignoring the blond's shouts. After 30 minutes, the yellow taxi arrived to a secluded place. The only thing that seemed to have color was the taxi.

"Are you sure this is where it is, Naruto?" Kakashi asked, looking around the sad town. "I'm sure, Kakashi, the asylum has to be around here somewhere," Naruto responded. He too, was looking around, feeling many emotions at once, one of which was fear, but also a tint of excitement. How many chances would you get to work at an asylum that only accepted the best of the best? Surely not many. Naruto was second in his graduating year, the first being Sakura Haruno. Sakura was a rude, conceited person, always finding a way to get Naruto in trouble. But as much as Naruto hated her, Sakura had also been employed to the same asylum as him. That left him no choice but to suck it up and work with her. "Is this it, Naruto," Kakashi asked the blond, taking him out of his small daze. "Yep, thanks, Kakashi," Naruto said, getting out of the car while doing so.

After waving goodbye to Kakashi, Naruto walked up to the gates of the asylum. The blond noticed there were a lot of police cars, but payed no interest to them. Naruto looked up to find the name of the place in white letters on the gates, Konoha Asylum, Naruto read before pushing the gate open, only to find it useless. "You know, if want to get in, you could just ask," a lazy voice said, making the blond jump a mile high before turning around. He saw an old speaker just barely staying on the wall if it weren't for the cable circuit gripping to it. "Uh, hello?" Naruto squeaked out. Suddenly, a man in a  uniform came out, seeming as though he weren't in a rush. "Don't break down the door, having to open the damn door is troublesome enough. Imagine if I had to tell the lady in charge that we'd need a door." The lazy man opened the gate, motioning for Naruto to come inside.

"The name's Shikamaru Nara. I'm assuming you're new here."

"Yep, I'm Naruto Uzumaki," Naruto said, extending his free hand, to which Shikamaru gladly shook. Both walking towards the large building, they went different directions after saying their goodbyes. Naruto headed straight to the main office, where he would get his first patient. Naruto was feeling confident, until a man with long black hair and pale skin came up to him. "Naruto Uzumaki I presume," he stated, a shiver running down Naruto's spine. "Y-yes," he stuttered, "h-h-hello." Orochimaru gave an amused smirk, but as quickly as it came, it disappeared. "Mr. Uzumaki, hear at Konoha Asylum, we do not tolerate tardiness, even to our new comers," Orochimaru stared, almost as if looking into the blond's soul.

"Orochimaru!" a voice almost yelled. A beautiful women with blond hair and a purple diamond tattooed in the center of her forehead came walking into the office. "Orochimaru, leave the poor boy alone and get back to work!" The women demanded, giving a glare to Orochimaru. He returned the glare while walking out of the office, muttering a few words before closing the door. "Thanks, Grandma Tsunade. Sorry for the trouble," Naruto sighed with relief. "It's fine, Naruto, don't let snake breath hold you down." Tsunade said. "Now, enough of that. We have to get you situated." Tsunade began to walk, Naruto slowly beginning to follow behind.

Leading Naruto to an unused office, Tsunade opened an old wooden door. It wasn't much, but still nice. There was a small desk off to the corner with a desktop computer already hooked up. There was a bulletin board above the desk. Other than that, there was nothing else to room had. Setting down his stuff, Naruto placed everything in a neat fashion, then leaving the room, Tsunade handing him the key. "Now, we have to get you a patient," Tsunade smiled. Naruto almost leaped with joy, finally getting his very first patient! He couldn't wait to see who his first patient would be.

     "Naruto!"

"Sorry, Obaa-Chan," Naruto went to catch up with Tsunade, still thinking about his first patient.

Walking back into the office he started in, Naruto saw an unpleasant sight. Sakura, Naruto glared. "Well, if it isn't Naruto." Sakura smirked. "I'm surprised to see you here. as a doctor, I mean." Naruto opened his mouth, about to say something, but Tsunade interjected before he had a chance to. "Naruto, ignore her, we have to get you a patient," she said. "Right," the blond replied. giving an angry glare towards the pink-haired girl, who only gave him a smirk in return.

"First off, Naruto, I want to tell you that all the patients here aren't your average mad people. Some of the patients have been here for almost seven years, and so far, haven't made any progress," Tsunade explained. Right then, a small communicator paged in Tsunade. "Tsunade, bring some medicine, Uchiha's being more crazier than usual," a voice said. "And now, you'll be seeing one of our oldest patients," Tsunade stated before walking out of her office.

__________

"What did you say, Uchiha," a threatening voice said. "Nothing sir, just me and the voices,'' Sasuke replied with a calm, cheery voice, a hint of madness in the tone. The warden took out his communicator and spoke into it.  "Tsunade, bring some medicine, Uchiha's being more crazier than usual," the man stated, putting the communicator back in his pocket. A few moments later, Tsunade and Naruto walked towards the warden, Tsunade holding a syringe in one hand. The warden eyed the boy before saying something. "I'm assuming your new here, I'm Kiba Inuzuka," he held out his hand, Naruto extending his hand as well. "Naruto Uzumaki, nice to meet you," the blond smiled. "Ahem." Both boys turned around, looking at the somewhat annoyed doctor. "Sorry," they said in unison, bowing their heads and turning to look at one another, snickering. "Open the damn door, Kiba," Tsunade tapped her foot impatiently. Kiba pulled out his keys and walked towards the door, unlocking it. With a tug, Kiba pulled the door open, introducing the darkness of the cell to the light. Tsunade walked in preparing the syringe. Naruto snuck a peek into the room, almost gasping. He saw a beautiful raven haired man, with onyx eyes. The blond's breath was taken away.

Both the blond and raven stared at each other, not knowing what was to come.
