I was running through the forest, the smell of burning wood clear in the midnight air, tears in my eyes. My village had turned against me and my mother because we could do magic, and thought we were servants of the Devil.

~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~

I was helping my parents clean up after dinner. A faint orange glow in the house and getting brighter by the minute, we thought nothing of it thinking it was a carriage passing by.

The bright light stayed outside, a sea of oranges, reds and yellows filled the room, along with the sound of banging coming from the front door.

My parents looked at each other, fear clear in their eyes.

"Open this door!! We know your hiding spawns of evil!! Open this door in the name of the King!!!, " a voice boomed from behind the door, a chorus of angry yeahs and curses following.

My father turns towards me, "Y/n... Honey, go with your mother please....,"

"You've got 3 seconds to open this damn door, L/n!!!!",

I shake my head not wanting to leave my father.

Crash!~

A rock was thrown through the window with a note attached to it, 'You've been warned L/n, now those demons shall go back to the hell from which they came!'

The smell of burning wood instantly filled out small cottage.

The rest went by in a blur, my father pushing me and my mother out the back door, a burning rafter falling in front of us and scratching my cheek.

Once my father pushed us out the door, tears begin to stream down my face, my mother taking my hand and rushing towards the forrest while trying to get me to calm down.

My mother's foot getting stuck on a root of a tree with her telling me to keep going and that she loves me, I shake my head not wanting to lose my mother also.

I try to untangle her for but I'm interrupted by orange lights from torches and men yelling.

I look at my mother with tears streaming down my face, her mouthing for me to go.

With pain in my heart I run into the forest looking back to see my mother with a sad smile on her face and being carried away by some castle guards.

~~~~Present~~~~

I get to a clearing and fall to my knees, gripping my H/l hair, tears still streaming down my face and scream out in pain. Pain from losing my parents and the burning rafter.

I curl up in a ball at the base of a tree and cry myself to sleep.

~~~~Timeskip~~~~

I wake to see that I'm not in my room or in my bed but in the clearing in the forest, meaning what happened last night actually happened.

I get up dusting myself off but I get the strange feeling that I am being watched.

I look around the clearing, "H-he-hello...?", I mumble slightly scared.

My fears are out to rest when a rabbit bounds across the clearing, making me jump back a little from being startled, and watch as it disappears into the brush again.

When I turn around I am pinned against a tree, by a male.

This male was wearing grey pants, red sneakers, black gloves, a black and grey hoodie with a white and golden undershirt, and he was wearing. Some sort of amulet with an amethyst gem surrounded by gold. But what scared me the most was his eyes, a soulless golden color that seemed to glow.

"What is a pretty girl doing so far out here in a dark and scary forest, filled with evil monsters?~", he said, a smirk forming on his face.

I feel myself start to cry again.

The male's expression drops and pulls me into a hug until I calm down.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?", he said with sympathy laced in his voice.

I think it over then nod slowly.

After I finished, I didn't know I was crying until the male pulled me into another hug, me on his lap (he is sitting criss cross on the grass) and huffing my face in the crook of his neck. Him calming me down by stroking my head and running his fingers through my tangled hair that smelled like smoke.

"My name's Sky."

I look into his golden eyes, "Y-y/n."

I yawn leaning on Sky's shoulder trying to stay awake invade those men find me.

"It's okay Y/n, I won't let them take you, sleep now."

I slowly drift into a dreamless sleep.

"Good night my lil' witch", Sky said kissing my forehead.
