Chapter 1: The Mission
Welcome to another Star Wars story, only this time, not only is it Survivor, but it's an AU and a crossover!!! The AU is Inquisitor and the crossover I have decided to do is Raya and the Last Dragon! Now, be warned, as I write this story, there will be dark themes, the pairing is Cal and Raya, and they will HATE each other when they first meet, so yeah. There will be smut, but I will choose which chapter that will be. I was inspired by Snapmite1998 and his story Ragnarök for this. Let's get this story on the road!!!
(Normal pov— Onboard the Destroyer)
A ship comes out of hyperspace, its pilot looking ahead while his black gloved hands are crossed behind his back. A black and red helmet obscures his features, keeping his face hidden and his hair unknown for now. He then hears his comms go off and he turns to see a blue hologram, imposing as ever, and familiar to him. He bows his head.
"Lord Vader," he says. "I'm on the way to the nearest sector to search for Jedi survivors who have survived Order 66." The Dark Lord of the Sith breathes heavily, then says,
::Well done, Thirteenth Brother, comm me once you land, then later, once you are done, I have another assignment for you.:: Thirteenth Brother nods his head. Then to his surprise, he hears Vader say, his voice as imposing as ever,
::Take off your helmet, Inquisitor.::
Thirteenth Brother blinks his eyes then lifts his helmet from his head. His eyes are a green color, but have a molten yellow edge to them. Freckles dot his pale face, scars cross his cheek and nose, his ginger hair is windswept and reaches his neck, and a small ginger beard plus ginger stubble graces his jaw and chin. The armor and uniform he wears is black and red like his helmet is, shoulder pauldrons on his shoulders, black boots on his feet along with the Empire's insignia on his right bicep. He looks up to meet Vader's gaze, even as a hologram, the Dark Lord of the Sith is imposing. He then reaches for his lightsaber, unclipping it from his belt and holding it up with the Force.
::Your training has done well for you in the last ten years since you joined the Empire, Thirteenth Brother. I will send you coordinates to your next destination soon.:: Thirteenth Brother nods before the hologram disappears and he hears a beep at his side.
Brrr-beep! his companion droid says, hopping from one foot to another. Thirteenth Brother chuckles.
"Yeah, buddy," he says. "We'll be heading to the location, but soon. We have to wait a bit. Vader's orders. He's sending us coordinates." His companion droid beeps again, and Thirteenth Brother shakes his head.
"Come on, let's tidy up, and then we'll head up to the cockpit." He then gets up, grabbing assembly parts to his companion droid's body, head and legs before setting them on the workbench in the back of his ship. He then starts messing with the parts of his lightsaber, his skills coming in handy to ensure his lightsaber is in top shape and working condition. He closes his eyes as he works, letting the Force guide him. After a bit, the young Inquisitor opens his eyes and walks to the cockpit of his ship, clipping his lightsaber back to his belt.
"We're almost there, bud," he says to his companion droid. "Vader should've sent the coordinates." He then walks to where a holoprojector sits in the middle of his ship, then types in a few keys, pulling up the coordinates that Vader had sent him. He frowns.
"Kumandra?" He asks, blinking his eyes as he folds his arms across his chest, his companion droid sitting on the edge of the holoprojector as he beeps at Thirteenth Brother. "Yeah, BD, we'll have to see what this place has to offer. Hopefully it'll be good for the Empire." He then types at the buttons to set the location before heading back up to the cockpit to sit down in his seat. BD jumps on the dashboard of the ship, beeping as Thirteenth Brother looks to him.
"Don't worry, buddy," he says. "Hopefully this place will do us some good." He then hears the holoprojector going off and he gets up, walking out of the cockpit. He presses a button as Darth Vader's visage appears in a blue hologram. He bows deeply, his knees against the ground.
"My Lord," he says. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
::Have you yet to arrive at the coordinates I sent you?:: Vader asks Thirteenth Brother, and the Inquisitor rolls his eyes without him knowing.
"I'm on the way now," he says. "What is my mission exactly?" He looks up to meet Vader's imposing gaze. He knows that Vader expects the best of him as an Inquisitor, and he is determined not to fail him in this task, no matter the cost.
::Your mission is to persuade the five leaders of each nation of Kumandra to the Dark Side. The Empire needs these resources that each nation has. That will be your task. Fail, and the consequences will be.....catastrophic. Do you understand, Inquisitor?:: Vader breathes heavily, making Thirteenth Brother's heart pound in his chest.
"Yes, my Lord. I will not fail you in this task." He says clearly. Vader seems to nod before the blue hologram disappears, then Thirteenth Brother turns his head and gets up, walking back to the cockpit. He then goes to sit down in the pilot's chair, BD jumping on the dashboard at his side. He steers the Destroyer then when it's time, he exits hyperspace, looking ahead at the world in front of him, covered in blue and green and brown.
"So far, so good." He tells BD as the droid looks out the cockpit window. He then brings the Destroyer in for a landing, only to hit the bump and he grits his teeth as he tries to bring it to a stop. The entire ship rocks as it crashes through the rubble, then stops in the sand. Thirteenth Brother then gets up, hissing as he feels pain shoot through his body and he looks down to see glass embedded in his side. BD beeps rapidly from his back as Thirteenth Brother then lifts the controls of his ship, bringing it into a rough landing as he feels himself jerk a bit in his seat. He growls in pain as he gets up.
"Gyro's out, and we need that," he says with a grunt of pain as he walks to the door. BD beeps at him, offering him a stim but the Inquisitor refuses. He then walks to the door and opens it, revealing nothing but a sandy desert for miles. He looks around, glaring against the sun, but he knows he can't see anything nor anyone. He walks until he hears BD beep at him again and he turns to the droid. He then grits his teeth. The only thing he can see is sand, nothing else. It reminds him of when he was a child, only thirteen years old, back when he was still a Padawan. He shakes his head quickly.
No time to dread on the past, he thinks to himself. He then hears his droid beep and he looks to BD as the bipedal droid jumps off his back and walks to what looks like bones in the sand. BD scans the bones then turns to Thirteenth Brother, beeping rapidly once more. He crawls up his back once more, Thirteenth Brother nodding his head to him.
"Good work," he says. "I mean, they're bones, but they don't look human. Let's keep looking around. Maybe we'll find something." He winces as he clutches his side, blood slowly starting to drip from his wound. He continues to walk, his boots hitting the sand as he does. He then sees something out of the corner of his eye as he walks. BD beeps and jumps off his back, leading him to where he can see a cave. Thirteenth Brother looks to his droid and gives him a smile.
"Good job, BD." He then starts walking to the cave, as the sun sets behind him. He grunts in pain, his eyes narrowed as he walks to it. The sky then turns black with night as he sits down, sighing softly as the darkness of the cave envelops him. He then slowly closes his eyes, and lets his nightmares come to him in his sleep.
(Thirteenth Brother's pov— five years ago, Fortress Inquisitorious, Nur)
I remember seeing the darkness.
I remember it clear as it were yesterday, as my master calls to me, yelling out my name. But it's not him. It's not Master Tapal, it's someone else: a female voice. I turn to come face to face with an Inquisitor I've come to know since I was captured by the Empire as a child.
Second Sister, she stalks towards me like a dark bird in the night, her lightsaber lit at her side. She then lunges for me, not giving me enough time to get up and ignite my own lightsaber against her before not only letting it clash with mine, but she gives me a good scar on the side of my cheek. As the blood steadily drops, I shake my head to clear it and ensure the blood doesn't get into my eyes.
"Fight!" Second Sister snarls, as she lunges for me again, letting her lightsaber hit mine as I lift mine up to block the upcoming attack. I wish I could see her eyes right now, but I can't, not with her helmet still on. That's my goal, to knock it off. I push her back with the Force with a grunt escaping me and she swings her lightsaber, resuming her stance once more before letting her lightsaber clash with mine once more. She then swings her feet out, tripping me. I lift up my lightsaber just in time to keep her lightsaber from lopping my head from my shoulders. As the crackling of our lightsabers fill the air around us, she brings her lightsaber down across my shoulder and I have to bite my lip to keep from screaming in pain, feeling the burn of it. Second Sister then removes her lightsaber and with a growl, swings it hard, the blade cutting my face and leaving a sizable scar on the left side of my face. I scream in pain, and Second Sister steps back from me.
"You need to learn to control the darkness, Padawan," she says with a spit. "Get up and try again." I growl before letting my lightsaber swing for her again, but I'm too sloppy; she sidesteps me, and before I know it, she's kicking a boot into my side, and I crash into the side of the wall, groaning in pain. I get up slowly, then swing my lightsaber again, only for her to scoff and use the Force to push me into the wall, enclosing me in metal.
"We're done with the lesson," she says. "This session is over, Cal Kestis." I growl at her.
"You know I haven't gone by that name in the last five years since I surrendered," I spit. Second Sister whirls on me.
"No," she says. "Do you remember Bracca? We picked you up from there after we tracked your location, and yet, you came to us willingly." I growl.
"It wasn't my choice," I spit at her again. She slowly turns to face me. "The choice was never mine in the first place. If I hadn't kneeled, I know you would've killed me." Second Sister nods.
"This is true, yes," she says. "But you know of this already. As an Inquisitor, you must be prepared, to not only hold the darkness in your heart, but you need to embrace it, fully. Right now, I can still sense light in your heart. Remember, the Empire is your home. It is your life. You have to fight for it!" She lunges again, but this time I'm ready for the attack, and not only do I block her by bringing up my lightsaber to clash with hers, but I also feel her push me back again with the Force, and I growl again. I dig my lightsaber in the ground to keep my balance and Second Sister narrows her eyes.
"I'm not giving up, Second Sister," I spit at her. She scoffs and lunges again, this time it's my turn to push her back with the Force, only this time I use the dark side to bend the metal in the room and trapping the Second Sister. "Like I said, not giving up." Second Sister scoffs, but before she can continue, we sense a dark presence, and I turn, my eyes meeting that of Vader's.
The Dark Lord of the Sith is imposing as ever, his black suit making him all the more intimidating and powerful. But I can sense the Dark Side of the Force around him, and it's all powerful around him. I bow my head to him and my grip on the metal loosens, freeing the Second Sister. She looks to Vader, sliding back on her helmet.
"How goes his training, Second Sister?" He asks. Second Sister turns to me then answers as she turns back to face Darth Vader,
"His training has gone extremely well, he's a fast learner. He'll make an excellent Inquisitor, won't you, Thirteenth Brother?"
That name.......that name is what sets me apart from the other Inquisitors, sets me apart from everything I used to fight for when I was still just a young Jedi Padawan. I nod to her, bowing my head.
"Yes, Second Sister," I reply. "My training is going well with you, and you're an excellent teacher." Darth Vader nods, then says dismissively,
"Good. I expect great results, Second Sister, Thirteenth Brother." I nod as well, and Vader walks away just as I block another upcoming attack from Second Sister, and as soon as I see my opening, I lunge forward, and my lightsaber hits her side, making Second Sister groan in pain. I don't ask her if she's okay, don't want to be seen as weak. Instead, I turn around, my back to her, deactivate my lightsaber and clip it back to my belt.
"We're done." I tell her, and I walk away from her.
(Normal pov—Present day)
Thirteenth Brother cracks open his eyes, and he groans slightly in pain. He sits up, as BD beeps at him in worry. He waves off his droid as he hisses, then removes his helmet. He usually doesn't remove it, not even around Vader, but that comm, that order that Vader had given him is different. He sighs and leans his head back.
"Don't worry, buddy," he tells BD when the droid beeps at him in worry. "I'm fine. Okay?" BD beeps at him as if to say otherwise, but Thirteenth Brother is quick to dismiss his droid companion. He then sighs and leans back, running a hand through his hair.
Hopefully there will be another way to persuade the leaders, whoever they are. But we'll have to find out. But for now, I need to rest and recuperate. My options are pretty slim.
Alright, that's the introduction to this chapter!!! Don't worry, I'll introduce Raya eventually, and I'm going to tap more into Thirteenth Brother's character, and hopefully these two will be able to meet!!! See y'all in the next chapter!! Also, vote and comment if y'all liked it!!! One more thing, I do NOT own Star Wars Jedi Survivor or Raya and the Last Dragon, Jedi Survivor belongs to Lucasfilm Games and Respawn, Raya and the Last Dragon belongs to Disney!
