Impossible Part 31
"No this can't happen! It's Impossible. I've worked so hard and it looked so good, why is it happening to me!" I cried while staring at my laptop screen.
"Maybe your brother can answer that question, tell him what's on your screen. I'm sure he will give you the best advice," Mom tried to comfort me.
I navigated to the support button on James's advice and felt a little bit better when a happy engineer promised me that she will look into the matter. Though she texted me a few minutes later that she couldn't find the problem. She asked very politely if I would mind if she refers it to a more senior engineer.
What could I do? I had to say no. If she couldn't solve the problem, how would I be able to do it? Ten minutes later I received an email from the Hosting Company that they are looking into the problem and it might take some time. They will email as soon as they solved the problem.
My mood dropped to despair, I was so positive. I grabbed Beth's Granny's diary from my desk and started to read it. Her Granny's heartwarming tales made me smile. I laughed out loud at Jason's reasoning about the picnic basket in Chapter nine. It was when I reached Beth's description of my smile: "most welcoming smile," that I realized how much that smile changed my life.
I think James had his suspicions but I'm sure my Mom and Dad didn't realize how difficult it was for me in school. I just couldn't read or even write for that matter. I think most of the teachers gave me marks for my neat handwriting because I know I spelled the words wrong.
Poor James, I always asked him to read to me. In that way, I could remember the most important stuff, but my teacher picked up on it and wouldn't let go last year. One night I told James that I don't want to go back to school. He stared at me for a moment and then he told me, he thinks he might have an answer to my problem.
Two weeks later he introduced me to Beth. She really did a lot to help me. Suddenly I missed them so much. I texted James and asked if we can zoom in tonight. He answered immediately: "Yes we miss you too."
The zoom session was more than uplifting. We have chat for more than an hour. I told them about Oscar and his new home. "Have you heard anything about the competition?" Beth asked with a smile.
"No, I think they are still on lockdown, when is this going to end?" I asked a little desperate for good news.
"It might be next week, but it won't be back to normal again. You might be able to get takeaways, but you won't be able to eat at a restaurant, and not all shops will be able to open," Dad enlightens us.
"Wow, do you hear Beth, you won't need to eat my food anymore, I will allow you two takeaways a week," James added with a twinkle in his eye.
"And you said you love cooking, you have to taste his spinach squish, you will love it," Beth laughed.
"Now I'm looking forward to allowing you back into our bubble," Mom added with a smile.
