The target
Late at night, when most people would sleep, there lay yet one warehouse with lights still on. Inside a young girl with pink hair was welding a machine. Music played loudly throughout the building, drowning out the knocking on the door. Despite not getting an answer, the door opened, in walking two men, both dressed in suits. One had brown hair, neatly combed, the other had black spiked hair.
The girl didn't notice the men enter the workshop as she kept listening to thunderstruck blaring at max volume. some machines came to life, crashing to the beat of the music, sounding close to real thunder. The men continued to navigate the maze of machines to reach the girl, making sure their headsets were still blocking out the noise. By the time the men had reached the girl the song had ended, and a CD player in the corner hooked up to the large speakers started to play the next song. Mr. brown hair tapped the girl on her shoulder.
"Hm?" the girl looked behind her as she flipped up her welding mask. "Ah, Principal Asano! How are you, I haven't seen you in a while!" she fished around in her overalls and pulled out a remote, turning off the music.
"Yes well, when you skip a week of school that tends to happen." Asano, uncaring of how dirty the surroundings were as he sat on a nearby machine. The other man however, continued to look around the warehouse, taking note of the many machines that were very much not legal. "It's actually what we are here to talk to you about."
"Eh, a week? I didn't know you were a joker sir!" the girl let out a laugh. "It's still Sunday ain't it?"
"No miss Schöpferin. It's Friday now." Principal Asano said as he held out his phone, the date on the screen. "We have tried reaching you all week without success."
The girl rummaged through her pockets before pulling out her own phone. It was out of juice. "Huh. Well, my bad, I just got this idea for an ATV that could work underwater and in steep mountains and I just couldn't wait to try it out!" She jumped up and showed the almost finished machine. It looked like an over tuned truck with a turbine welded to the bed. "And I told you, use my first name! Mori! M-O-R-I! Jeez."
"Yes, well, given your talent, grades, and abilities I have overlooked some of your activities, but missing a whole week of school I'm afraid will force me to take action. As of right now Miss Mori, you are being transferred to E class." Asano said as he handed her a paper. Mori took it, shrugged, then set it on a nearby oil drum. "Well, that concludes my business here. Mr Karasuma, she's all yours." Asano stood up, dusted his pants and walked off into the labyrinth on metal.
"Eh, I saw this happening eventually." Mori said as she stared off in the direction of the door. "Let's go to the kitchen, it's cleaner there." More pulled the remote out of the overalls and pushed a button. One of the cranes mounted to the ceiling started to move over the pair. It dropped down a chain, and Mori grabbed it. "Ah right." After fishing around in a nearby pile she pulled out a flat tray and hooked it on the chain. She stepped on one side and Mr Kurasama stepped on the other.
Mori pushed another button and the crane lifted them both above the workshop, and brought them over to the mezzanine. The stairs had been taken out, replaced by a larger landing to the office that served as Mori's house. "Don't worry about taking off your shoes, I don't have any carpets. Go ahead, help yourself to the snacks in the cupboard, I don't know if the stuff in the fridge is still good. I'm going to change and shower."
Karasuma nodded as the young girl walked off into a different room.He looked around the room, taking note of the lack of decoration, just the necessities. Fridge, dishwasher, laundry machines, sink, range, a small table, and a T.V. mounted to the wall showing security feeds from around the building. Among all of that, there was only a single photo, of a younger Mori and four others. Two adults, two kids, older than Mori. she looked to be about ten in the photo, still wearing overalls, a grease stain on her cheek. The photo was burned at the edges, and crumpled.
The door opened again as Mori walked out, her long pink hair braided into twintails reaching her hips. She had changed her overalls out for a white shirt and brown carpenter pants. "Your the new 3-E teacher right, Mr. Karasuma?"
"I am. However, class 3-E is different from what you are being led to believe." Karasuma said as he placed a briefcase on the table. "Given your history, it was better if I came and told you in person instead of taking you to the Ministry of Defense."
Mori sat at the table. "Now this I did not see happening. Why is the Ministry of Defense involved with a group of failed students?"
Karasuma sat at the other side and opened the briefcase. Mori sat and listened in silence as he explained the target. The moon. The assassination. The class. The weapons. The reward.
"We know that your family was killed by an assassin three years ago, and we are willing to lend a hand in finding the assassin and the person who hired them, should you kill the target." Karasuma said as he slid a document over. "If you wish not to participate, that's fine, you just need to let me know and we can wipe your memories."
Mori picked up Korosensei's sheet. She looked at the tie around his neck. Flashes of a woman passed in front of her eyes.
"We have until March to kill him." Karasuma said as he packed up the rest of the paper. "If you wish to participate, let me know."
Mori sat still for a moment as she stared at the target. "I'll be there monday. Can you deliver some of the materials here? You can most often find me here or the junkyard just outside the city."
Karasuma stared for a second and nodded. "We can do that. Just remember that only the anti target materials work on him." He pulled out a pair of knives and a pistol, setting them on the table. "This is all I have on me right now, but we can have more delivered tomorrow."
"Thank you Mister Karasuma, or I suppose it's Karasuma Sensei now." Mori slid the gun into the hammer loop of the carpenter pants and followed Karasuma out to the lift, and dropped him off at the door. She unhooked the plate from the chain and set it to the side. "If you can't reach me, push this button. It will send a signal to whatever area of my workshop I'm in."
"I see. The target will most likely come to pester you if you skip classes." Karasuma opened the door and walked out, heading to his own car.
"If you ever need something tuned or fixed, give me a call sensei. I can assure you my work is cheaper, and much more efficient than most garages around here." Mori called out as she closed the door behind her.
Mori put her foot into the hook of the chain and lifted it up to the air. She guided the hook over to a secluded spot, one you couldn't walk to. It looked like a giant pile of scrap metal. She hopped down and walked over to a computer, powering it on.
"Miss Yukimura, you said that tie was for a friend. Then you vanish, and die in a freak accident? And now this monster is wearing the tie we saw in the window of that tacky shop? I will find out who this 'Korosensei' really is. Even if I must kill him." Mori emptied the magazine of BB's and put them in a scanner. "Bewarned target. I will get my answers."
