I wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread. Surprisingly, I'm on the bed. Did Snow put me here? Maybe. I blush at the thought of last night's events and quickly get out of the warm covers. I find Martyn up a tree, and Snow placing some bread and cheese on a makeshift table made out of a chopped log.

She gives a slight wave at me, and continues to cut up the bread. I give Martyn a questioning look, and he laughs in reply. Damn, he's tricksy. Before I know it, Martyn jumps out of the tree and grabs me, dragging me into the forest.

"Toby~~"Martyn smirks."I've seen the way you look at her, why don't you ask her out? Kiss her? Marry her? Have kids with her?!"Martyn's eyes gleam in the shade of the tall trees.

I blush a deep shade of magenta."S-she might have someone... I mean..."I look forlornly at her humming in the distance.

"You soooo like her!"

"So what if I do?!"I retort, and then realise that I have just dug my own grave.

"You do like her!! Operation: get Toby and Reni together, commence!"He whisper-yells.

I face palm and cry out,"WAIT!!"before my crazy friend devises some plan to get us together.

Serenity;

Martyn asks me to go to a clearing after breakfast, and every single time I ask him why, he just says 'you'll see.' I clear away the plates, and to be very honest... I love the tranquility of this base, there's no emotional wreckage... No pain, no fighting. It's amazingly peaceful. As I put down the plates, I head to the clearing Martyn was talking about and see Toby standing there, in all his awkward glory.

I cock my head."Did you get called here too?"

He mumbles a yes in reply, and looks at his feet.

"I wonder why Martyn told us to go here, right? It's kinda like he wanted us to talk!"I see Toby redden as I give him a questioning look.

He looks like he's about to freeze in nerves."Uh, are you okay? You look really nervous. You can tell me what's going on! I'm good at keeping secrets!"I wink at him playfully.

With that, he seems to stiffen more, if that's even possible.

"S-Snow I-uh-wo-would y-you li-like to g-g-go out with m-me?"He stutters as my hand shoots to my mouth, what. The. Heck. Did. He. Just. Say.

"Uh... Sorry, but I don't think I'm ready for that kind of relationship... But I can give you this..."I say automatically as I walk up to him and give him a light kiss on the lips.

3rd person;

All Toby could think about is the soft lips that were currently on his, as he kissed back, he could literally feel Martyn smirking.

A jet-packed figure saw the pure white hair, and flew down. What he saw wrenched his heart, it was Reni, kissing Toby...

A hurt look spread on his face as the duo look wide eyed at him.

"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting something."He says bitterly as he tries to fly away. Reni grabs his hand and shoos away Toby, who obliges and goes elsewhere.

"Duncan. Why did you come? Aren't I still a non human freak in your eyes?"She spits at him.

"Reni, why?! I though that we-"

"I can do whatever I want with my life. I am not an object, an even if I was, I am certainly not yours."

"Reni..."

"Look, Duncan. I moved on because you pushed me away. Do you think I will have cried, just because of that? Well sorry for making you feel guilty, Green Eyes."She hisses, he flinches."Emotions, feelings. The reason why I can control them so well is because I've been through all that pain too many times. But I guess that's not enough. I thought I could trust you, but you pushed me away. Maybe I'll be better off without you."

And with that she walked away, taking back all she said about tranquility and no emotional wreckage. She hates him, and Duncan didn't mean to push her away. He did what his mind told him to do. He was going to apologise to her, ask her to come back. He guesses his heart broke when he saw the two kissing. As Duncan flew away, all he could think about was those painful, painful last words:

Maybe I'll be better off without you.
