It was Sunday, and Vikram had to go to Pune for urgent work, Poonam also went with him as she wanted to meet her old friend who was ill and even pick up some things from her old home.

Chintu came to Aarav's house today along with his mother. Aarav was elated to see them "Chintu.. Aunty.." he chuckled in happiness.

"Aaj Chintu bahut miss kar raha tha tumhe Aarav beta.. Aap dono khelo main shyam ko chintu ko le jaungi" she replied

Kavya smiled "aap befikar hoke jayie ab mujhe Vikram ko bhi phone nahi karna padega Chintu rahega toh Aaru shant rahega" she said with a sigh of relief on her face.

"Haa wo Poonam ne hi mujhe phone kiya tha.." she said and leaves the place.

Aarav takes Chintu to his room and they began to play with games. "Ohho Chintu aaj aaru dost ko miss kar raha hai wo apne ghar gayi hai" he said sadly

"Haan toh dost hamesha thodi saath rehte hai" Chintu replied

"Kyun nahi?" he said

"Main bhi toh apne mumma papa ke saath rehta hun.. Aap apne bhai ke saath aur Poonam didi ka bhi toh ghar hai na" he explained.

Aarav thought for a moment. Chintu snipped his finger in front of him and they continued playing. Kavya entered the room after some time and said "Chintu beta aapki mumma aa gayi hai aapko lene"

Aarav gets up and shouted "nahi Chintu nahi jayega Aaru ko abhi aur khelna hai"

"Lekin beta iski mumma aayi hai na.." Kavya explained.

Aarav refused and throws his toys towards her "jao aap yahan se Chintu nahi jayega"

"Aarav bhaiya hum next sunday milenge na.." Chintu said

Aarav made a face, he gets up and Chintu hugs him tightly "pakka hum sunday milenge bhaiya.. Aap park aaoge na"

He nodded and waves bye to Chintu. Aarav thought "dost bhi Pune se nahi aayi toh?" he begans to cry thinking about of Poonam not returning back to him.

Kavya walks to him and kneels down to his level "beta rote nahi hai.."

He pushes her away "aap gandi ho jaao Aaru ke room se" he shouted at her. He runs out of the room and comes downstairs. He picks up the landline and dials Vikram's phone number.

"9..779... ohho.. Bhai ka number yaad nahi aa raha Aaru ko" he gets annoyed. He then remembered something. 

Nitin comes home with his colleague, he glanced at Kavya and asked her to take him inside as they are important business delegates. Kavya held Aarav's hand but he jerked her away "Aap door raho na Aaru se.."

He runs out of the house and waits for Vikram to return from Pune. He sits down on the stair and cries hiding his face in between her knees "dost.."

Pune

Vikram was attending the conference while Poonam was checking the important documents. She felt strange for a moment, she thought about Aarav. She picked up her phone and called Kavya but her phone wasn't reachable.

The conference ended and Vikram stepped out of the room. He smiled at her and said "Poonam main delhi wapas laut raha hun.. Tum ek do din apne dost ke saath rahkar aa jaana"

"Nahi.. main bhi chal rahi hun tumhare saath" she replied instantly the concern for Aarav was clearly visible on her face.

Vikram tapped her cheek lightly "Aaru ke liye pareshan mat ho main jaa raha hun na.." he said understanding her concern

"Vikram please.. Mujhe ajeeb lag raha hai main chal rahi hun tumhare saath" she declared and didn't want to argue with him further on this.

Vikram said "lekin tumhari dost beemar hai na use zaroorat hai tumhari itne saal tum uske saath rahi ho"

"Haa lekin.." she paused when Vikram held her hand tightly.

"Aaru ko main sambhal lunga Poonam bas ek do din ki baat hai na.." he assured her.

Poonam thought for a moment, she has to be here with her friend who had been with her in bad times. Poonam agrees and lets him go alone to Delhi though her heart didn't allow her to stay back.

Vikram leaves for the airport after dropping her at her friend's house. He takes the flight and within two hours he lands in Delhi. It was heavy traffic and he decides to take the metro to reach early at home.

He thought of buying Aarav's favourite snacks on the way, he reached the stall and said "bhaiya do samosa aur pani puri pack kar dijiye"

His phone rings and it was Kavya's call. He immediately picked it up "jee chachi" he pays the man and takes the packets from his hand.

"Vikram kaha ho tum? Jaldi ghar aao" she said tensely

"Kya hua chachi?" he asked with expressions changed

"Wo Aaru.. Aaru ka accident..." she said and Vikram's eyes became wide hearing her words. The bags dropped from his hand and Vikram runs towards the house which was just a few streets away from the market.

In about 15 minutes, he reaches the bungalow. The door was open, he rushes inside and shouted "Aaru..."

"Sir upar kamre mei" Maria said

Vikram runs upstairs and enters Aarav's room. He sees him lying on the bed with his head bleeding and the doctor was trying to clean his wound but he was shouting "nahi.. Bhai.. dost..."

"Aaru..." he moved closer to him and sat down on the bed beside him. He held his hand tightly, he sees a deep cut on the left side of his forehead which had been bleeding. He felt the pain and the wounds got freshened up. He feared of wound harming his brain more, he placed his other hand on top of his head and said "aaru.. Shant ho jaa.. Main aa gaya hun"

He looks around but didn't find Poonam. He cries "dost nahi aayi? Aap unhe chodke aaye na.. Wo hamare saath nahi rahengi na?"

He was in disbelief hearing his words "Aaru.. Poonam wo"

"Unhe bulao.." he said

"Main bula lunga par pehle tum patti karwalo dekho kitna khoon nikal raha hai" Vikram said softly but he denied it. He wanted Poonam to be at home, and Vikram promises that Poonam will return in a few days.

"Nahi dost hai wo apne ghar rahengi na.. Aap unhe yahan bulao wapas" he requested her.

The vision started to get blur in front of his eyes and slowly he loses his consciousness. The doctor cleans his wound and wraps the bandage around his head. Vikram asked in stammered tone "doc.. Iss chot ki wajah iske deemag mei bura asar toh nahi padega na?"

"Nahi Vikram.. Pareshan mat ho maine injection de diya hai he will be completely fine zyda gehri nahi hai" he replies and leaves from there.

Vikram glanced at Nitin and asked "kaise hua ye sab?"

"Beta pata nahi ise aisa kyun laga jaise tum Poonam ko wapas nahi laane waale ho.. Ghanto bahar baitha rota raha phir achanak car ke peeche bhaga aur takra gaya dusri taraf se aati hui car se.." Nitin replied.

Vikram smeared his head and places a soft kiss on his forehead.

Kavya said "Acha hua tu aa gaya.. Bahut muskil se wapas ghar leke aaye hai ise sambhal hi nahi raha tha humse.."

Nitin and Kavya left the room while Aarav lays down beside him in the remaining position. He had forgotten to inform Poonam as she asked him to inform her about Aarav's wellbeing.

The next morning, Aarav opens his eyes. He held his head as it was paining "ahh.." Vikram wakes up hearing his voice.

"Aaru.." he called him softly

Vikram helps him get up and Aarav looked at him "bhai..."

"Dard ho raha hai?" Vikram asked

"Thoda sa.. lekin ye Aaru ko laga kaise?" he asked leaving Vikram completely shocked.

"Tujhe yaad nahi?? Kal raat tu car ke peeche bhaag raha tha tabhi toh laga na" Vikram said angrily

Aarav tend to think but couldn't recall the incident. Vikram kept his hand on his shoulder "koi baat nahi... tum zyada mat socho chalo main tumhe ready kar deta hun phir hum breakfast karenge hmm"

"Dost.. nahi aayi na aapke saath" he asked innocently

"Wo kuch din mein aa jayegi" Vikram assured him.

He jerked his hand away "nahi aayegi unki family toh pune mein hai na.. Isliye wo ab yahan nahi aayegi.. " he said adamantly

"Nahi bache Poonam aayegi wapas" Vikram assured him.

Aarav looked at him and Vikram smiled at him. He refused to believe him as his friend Chintu stays with family and only plays with him once a week. Vikram sighed deeply "hey bhagwaan ab kya hi zid pakadke baith gaya hai ye ladka.. Kaise samajhu ise Poonam yahi rahegi meri patni hai aur iski bhabhi"
