Chapter 1

Customers come in and out the little store that sold beauty products and such. A small woman ran the shop, always wore a smile to her customers and outside the shop. She carried a positive energy wherever she went, she was a rather optimistic person. Her name was Daisy Wellington. Her hair always up in a disheveled bun as some brown, wavy curls fell from it. Her green eyes had a cheerful sparkle to them and her clothes as well brought out her personality.

"Thanks for coming!" She chirps as the lady smiled and thanked her while she left with a small bag of contours. The door opens with a cheery chime of the entrance bell. A rather awkward woman walks in nervously as she walked over to the cashier register. She had (h/l) (h/c) hair and her (e/c) eyes scanned the shop nervously. Daisy sees her and gives the shy woman a smile, "Hi, welcome to Little Daisies! Anything I can help you with?" She asks. The woman looks up at her and rubs the nape of her neck shyly.

"I'm (F/n) (L/n)," She greets awkwardly, "I'm-"

"You're the new girl I hired!" Daisy cuts her off as she walked from behind the register. (Y/n) reached a hand out to shake her hand but is met with a hug instead. This caught her off guard as she stumbled a little.

"That's me." She said with a brow raised, "Are you Miss Wellington-?"

"Just call me Daisy!"

"Okay-"

"Can I call you (N/n)?"

"Yeah-"

"Great! I'll show you around!" Daisy chirped with a wide grin as she took (Y/n)'s hand and dragged her along with her.

'I don't think I can keep up with her energy...' (Y/n) thought to herself as she was dragged along and told the concepts of everything and where everything was. (Y/n) took mental notes and memorized as best she could with how fast Daisy explained the procedures. After a moment, she found herself at the register, wearing a lime green apron like Daisy's with the shop's name printed in a playful white font. She glanced over at the energetic woman, Daisy gave her a wide grin and thumbs up in which she returns, but awkwardly before Daisy starts talking to a customer about a product. (Y/n) lets out a soft sigh as she stood there, remembering what Daisy had told her to do with that wide grin of hers.

"Remember, (N/n), smile and keep that positivity as best as you can!"

Upon hearing the ring of the entrance bell from the door, (Y/n) looks up at the approaching customer with a smile and positive energy, "Hi, welcome to Little Daisies-!"

"I'm here to pick up an order." Replied said person. Her smile falters a bit as she looked at the costumer. He was a lot taller than her. Jet black hair in an undercut that was slicked back. Somewhat pale skin in which his charming baby blue eyes brought out some color to him. He wore black boots, black fingerless gloves, dark blue dress pants and tie, grey vest, and a white button up underneath. Despite his haircut, she seemed very formal and professional, handsome even. With his chiseled jaw and if he were to smile broadly it would make all the women swoon. (Y/n) looked at him with a light blush before nodding slowly.

"A-Alright, I'll be right with you. Uhm, what's your name-"

"Eddie! Welcome back!" Daisy cuts (Y/n) off as the small woman hugged the much taller man.

"Hello, Daisy." The man, Eddie, replied as he hugged back. Once they let go of one another, Daisy looks at (Y/n).

"(N/n), this is my friend, Eddie! Eddie, this is my new recruit, (Y/n)!" Daisy chirps with a smile. Eddie's blue eyes meets (Y/n)'s (e/c) ones.

"A pleasure, (Y/n). I'm Eddie Gluskin." Eddie said as he offered his hand to (Y/n), who seemed hesitant at first before taking it. They both shake each other's hands, "Anyway," Eddie says as he turns his attention back to Daisy, "I made an order last week-"

"Oh right! Almost forgot," She laughs as she tapped her head with a hum, "I'll be right back! (Y/n), keep Eddie company." She said as she headed to the back of the shop. They both stood there as customers walked around the shop and browsed. (Y/n) rubbed her arm awkwardly as she glanced at Eddie who stood straight with his hands clasped behind his back.

(Y/n) cleared her throat as she rubbed the nape of her neck, "So do you live around here?" She asks to spark up some kind of conversation. Eddie looks at her and nods.

"Yes. I moved here a few years after graduating college." He says. (Y/n) nods.

"So, for some time you've lived here...?"

"Mhm," He hummed with a nod, and that seemed to end the conversation. (Y/n) mentally groaned at the uncomfortable vibes between them since she found herself to be more of an introvert. As if her prayers were answered, Daisy comes back with a box of cosmetics.

"Found it!" She chirped with a grin. Eddie nods with a small smile as he took the box from her.

"Thank you, Daisy." He thanked with a curt nod as he handed Daisy her payment in check form.

"No problem!" She hummed in a sing song tune and gratefully took the check. Eddie looks at (Y/n).

"It was a pleasure meeting you, (Y/n)," He said with a nod as he began to walk out, "Have a good day, you two." (Y/n) watches him leave the shop as she looked back at Daisy.

"Daisy?" Daisy looks up at her.

"Hm?"

"What does Eddie do? Job wise." She asks.

"Oh, he's a tailor. His shop is down the street, won't be too hard to find," She says as she walked over to the register, "But the dresses he tailors are so beautiful. Along with suits and such." (Y/n) nods in understanding.

"I see."

"You should check out his shop sometime." Daisy hummed with a smile to her, "Anyway, there's a shelf over there that needs to be reshelved." Daisy said, pointing to a almost empty shelf. She nods again as she goes to restock. While doing so, she can't help but hear a nearby conversation between two women.

"Did you hear about that girl who went missing yesterday?" One woman asked. (Y/n) frowns a bit as she listened more into it as she worked.

"Yeah. Wasn't she a 18 year old?"

"Mhm. The last time she was seen was when she was heading to school and never arrived." The woman says.

"Just sends chills up my spine. She's the, what...? Fourth one that went missing the past month?"

"Yeah. A middle aged woman went missing before her last week." She sighs, "Let's talk about this later. It's getting me all paranoid."

"Same." The other agreed with a nod as they both walked away. (Y/n) took a moment to process what she had just heard. She doesn't live in this part of town, mainly in the next town over. Not even working here for a day, she was already hearing news about people going missing.
