"I'll keep her".....

That is what Atticus said, 

Making people sit down and the judge look at him 

"You are willing to take the girl, Mr. Finch" The Judge says

"Why yes, shes a sweet girl, i have two other children at home who won't mind another little sibling" Atticus says and the Judge looks at you 

"Y/n, do you like Mr. Finch" He asks 

You nod and smile and the judge hits his gravel 

"I say, Atticus Finch, has custody of Y/n L/n" He says when your dad stands up

"HELL NO I WON HER, I DID, NO NIGGER LOVER IS TAKING MY BABY" He yells loudly making you flinch and whine 

He got up grabbing you by the arm, Mr. Gilmer and Atticus pull you away from him and Mr. Gilmer pulls him away from you, taking him to the back 

You cry and Atticus picks you up shushing you

He rocks you back and fourth as you calm down, and Judge Taylor walks over to Atticus 

"Mr. Finch, here" He says handing him forms, 

"Thank you very much Judge Taylor" Atticus says as you look up looking at Mr. Taylor 

Atticus starts to walk out the court room, he was outside when he noticed three children running up to him, 

"ATTICUS ATTICUS" They shouted 

"How was it, did you win" A little girl asked 

"Yes in fact i did Scout, meet little Y/n" He says and you look down at the girl,

There was a little girl and an older boy and a young boy

"Y/n, these are my other two children, Scout and Jem, and that boy is their friend Dill" 

Atticus says and you look at them 

You lean on Atticus hiding from them, 

"Its okay Y/n, don't worry, their your family they won't hurt you now" Atticus says 

"Why do you have her" Jem asked

Atticus sighs, 

"Well Jem, this is your new sister, i won the case and having to take her with me was my part" Atticus says 

"What happened to her eye" Dill said 

"We can all talk when we get home, why don't we start walking now" Atticus says 

You wall walked home, Atticus carrying you and the small bag you had with you

Listening to Scout, Jem, and Dill talk about each other 

You all arrived at the house, walking in 

You saw a woman, a black woman 

"Y/n, this is Cal" Atticus said and you looked at her 

"Why Mr. Finch what did you bring in today, a guest" She asked 

"No in fact she is a part of our family, her name is Y/n, is that right" Atticus says and you nod 

"Well its nice to meet you miss Y/n" Cal said and you watched her walk away 

Atticus takes you to a room and sets you on a bed 

"Dear Y/n, lets get you in comfy clothes now shall we" 

You watch Atticus go into his closet and pull out a tub 

"This is all the baby stuff, from Scout and Jem" He says when Scout, Jem, and Dill walk in he room

You look at them and they surround you

Asking questions and trying to touch you

You cry loudly and Atticus tells them to give you space 

You watch them back away, "Why don't you three look through that tub, find a nice outfit for miss Y/n" Atticus says

They mess in the tub and Atticus sits on the bed with you in his lap, 

A few minutes later they approach you both 

"We found this" Jem says, 

Scout holds up a pair of  light purple corduroy overalls  

Jem holds a white shirt

Dill holds a pair of cute socks

"Amazing work she will look great and comfy" Atticus says 

"You three may leave now" Atticus says and they run out 

He lays you gently on the bed, changing your diaper

He takes off your old dirty shirt, washing you up with a wet rag, and then drying you off a bit 

He put the shirt on you and then the socks, and the corduroy overalls, 

You looked at cute as a button 

"You look so sweet my Y/n" He says and picks you up

He grabs a hair brush and takes your little pig tail on the top of your head out and brushed your H/c hair

He smiled playing with your fluffy hair and you gigged grabbing his finger 

He smiled watching you, glad he took you in his care 

He put your little pigtail back in and carried you out to the living room 

Cal looked at you and smiled, "What a sweet girl" She said looking at your outfit 

You started to suck on your thumb and Atticus smiled, 

Atticus sat on the couch and Cal sat next to him, 

Atticus set you on the floor, on the nice soft carpet

"Scout, Jem" He called out

Scout, Jem, and Dill came running in looking down at you 

"Bring the tub of baby stuff in here will you" Atticus says

Dill and Jem run and grab the tub bringing it in the living room 

Jem, Scout and Dill rummage through the tub exploring all their old baby stuff as you want to look but your scared of the new people, 

You crawl to were Atticus was sitting and grab his leg 

He picks you up putting you in his lap

You watch Scout, Jem, and Dill play through it and you whine trying to look 

"Do you wanna join them" Atticus says and you nod 

He sets you down on the floor and you crawl to the tub, 

Scout, Jem and Dill look at you and you whine 

Atticus sits on the ground and puts you in his lap, 

He grabs stuff from the tub, like a rattle and big toy rings

He hands one to you, and you take the ring 

"How old's she" Scout asks looking at you 

"She is only 2" Atticus says 

"Aw shes so young, was i ever that young Atticus" Scout says 

He nods, "Yes you were Scout" He says and you chew on the colorful toy ring 

"Hey she's eatin' it" Dill says surprised 

Atticus chuckles and Jem hits his head

"No she ain't eatin' it, she chewin' on it, she nothing but a baby" Jem says and Dill nods 

"So babys think they can eat toys" Dill says

"No Dill, they just playing, its how baby's play" Jem says

Jem looks at you and sticks his finger out to you, as you sit in Atticus's lap 

You look at his finger and back at Atticus

"Go ahead now, he don't bite" Atticus said and you dropped the toy ring and grabbed Jem's finger 

He smiled, "You sure are cute" Jem says and you smile

You keep a tight grip on his finger, then you try to suck on it

"Wait! no no no!" Jem says yanking his finger away and you cry 

His yanking scared you and you cried loudly 

"Jem! What'd you do that for!" Scout says

"You made her cry Jem" Dill says 

You cry loudly and Atticus stands up holding you, 

He rocks you back in fourth, soothing your cries

"Scout, hand me that pacifier" Atticus says and she hands Atticus the pacifier 

He holds it out getting your attention, he sticks it in your mouth and you suck on it as it soothes your cries and you lean on Atticus falling asleep

He sits on the couch cradling you, wrapping you up in a blanket 

Lulling you to sleep, 

"Jem, Scout, Dill, go play outside now, let Y/n sleep" He says and they all run off 

Atticus holds you as you sleep peacefully~
