TWELVE
With Percy gone and Annabeth otherwise buried under mountains of work I had no one to talk to.
Thalia hadn't spoken to me since the day she came to my room. Everyone else was giving me a wide berth. No one seemed ready to forgive and forget.
With good reason, the little voice inside my head nagged, you tried to kill them.
I missed Thalia so much. I was beginning to wonder what had gotten into me to start with. I was no longer sure why I turned my back on the gods.
They never did anything to hurt me. I should've just told Thalia about them as soon as Hermes turned up on our doorstep. But I didn't. And that decision could have resulted in Thalia's death.
I didn't blame her for not wanting to talk to me. I wouldn't want to talk to me either.
I had been a prideful git and I hated myself for it.
Being isolated from the rest of the group, as I was, I had lots of time to think all of this.
I sat at the side of the training room mostly watching everyone train.
They all seemed unsure of themselves, I was pretty sure that the main reason for this was Percy's absence.
Even if he hadn't been training with them directly, he had been there. He was the glue that joined everyone together.
One particular day, everyone minus Annabeth was doing a rope course. I was at the other end of the training room beating up a training dummy.
They all finished the rope course and began to leave, just as I finished hacking away at my fourth training dummy.
"Thalia wait up!" I charged after her.
Thalia just ignored me and carried on talking to Reyna.
"Thalia," I grabbed her shoulder, "please hear me out."
Reyna left and we were the only ones left in the room. Thalia looked at me expectantly.
"Well?" She asked.
"I-I'm sorry," I started, she laughed and turned to leave, "Thalia I..."
"You're sorry?" Thalia whirled on me, "That's not enough Luke. You betrayed my trust in every way possible and you tried to kill Percy and Annabeth."
I opened my mouth to speak, but Thalia wasn't stopping, "Annabeth, you remember her right? My best friend, your best friend. We were a family Luke, how could you do that to her?"
"I just..."
"No," Thalia glared at me, "you didn't 'just' anything. You turned on me, on all of this," she gestured around, "because some dick head whispered some lies in your ear."
"God damn it Thalia let me speak," She looked at me in complete shock, I ploughed on, "I don't know why I did it and Gods I wish I hadn't, but you have to understand, I'm trying my best here, that's all I can do, and I don't expect you to ever forgive me I just needed you to know how sorry I am."
I turned and walked back over to the training dummies and began hacking at them again. Thalia stood there for a while longer, just watching me. Then she turned on her heel and stormed out of the training room.
Hey guys, so what do you think of the chapter? Do you want Thaluke back together or nah? (They probably will get back together because i ship it!)
