NINE

Annabeth

"So what's going on at the moment?" Percy put his chin onto my shoulder looking at my laptop, which was on the desk in front of me.

"Not much," I told him, "Thalia just spoke to Luke. He's still not cooperating, and he still doesn't have his powers."

Percy scrunched up his nose at the mention of powers. We still hadn't really talked about Percy's aversion to the Gods. But he seemed to be avoiding the subject, so I had been following suit.

That's why I approached the next subject with caution "I also spoke to Poseidon, he said that they expected that you'd be sceptical and that that's why you're on track to lead us. His words not mine."

I spun around in my chair too look at Percy, who had sat down on the corner of the bed.

"Look Percy I know that you don't like any of this, but I swear that if you still want to leave after all of it then I will come with you." I told him.

Percy nodded, still looking at his hands.

"I love you Annabeth," He looked up and met my eyes, "But I need some time to work everything out."

I nodded, "You've got just less than two months." I took his hand and squeezed it. Before getting to my feet and walking away.

Percy

I sat there for a while longer before I finally decided to get up.

I made my way slowly towards the room where Luke was being held. I knew that what I had to do now was speak to Luke. I had to understand what he hated about the Gods.

I figured that would help me work out why I was so angry at the Gods.

"We'll you're the last person I expected to see anywhere near here." Luke looked up as I walked into his 'room'.

"I didn't expect to come here either." I replied.

"Then why did you?" Luke raised an eyebrow.

"I had to know."

"You had to know why I tried to kill you." Luke frowned.

I nodded.

"It's simple really, The TITANS told me that you're the heir to the throne of Olympus, so I knew that if got rid of you then I would have a much easier job down the line."

"And why did you go to the TITANS in the first place?"

Luke laughed, "The Gods came to me and told me about all of this," he gestured around, "and I saw straight through it, they're going to use you all and then throw you away."

I regarded Luke for a few moments, and then turned around to face the door, looking away from Luke.

He was in a very similar mind-set to me. But I wasn't sure why I was in it.

I was just so angry at everything. And for some reason most of that anger seemed to be spewing out at the Gods, and at Annabeth.

I had no idea what was happening, or why it was happening. And I couldn't stop it.
