Chapter 1

Lonely. That's all he could say to describe that place. If he must, there were other definitions that still make his skin crawl with hundreds of negative emotions to label that place, too. Cold, gloomy, secluded, scary, numb... He shook the remaining heart throbbing feelings from his mind, unwilling to think any more of it.

Jin didn't like that place. Even with the imperfect and limited emotions that he had, he knew that he didn't like that place at all.

It was the place that made Jin to become the way he is.

But it's okay now, because it was gone.

Now, however, the more he thought about it, the more he thought maybe it wasn't all okay.

"Is that all?"

"Yes, thank you." Jin smiled and paid for a salad in a plastic box, including a water bottle. He put it in a plastic bag, scratching his greasy hair he sort of wished he could wash. However, he soon found himself staring at a peculiar car that was now stationed outside of the corner store.

A cop car.

Jin became wary, however he wasn't too concerned. He was a dangerous man, as said in the news, but it was only seen as attempted murder. Not like Lisa and Rosé when they took over Jimin's problem. Yeah, he knew about it. It made him feel strange, in a damaging way. He didn't know how to describe it... He didn't like seeing them behind bars, after everything he did to raise them.

The bell ringed, signifying somebody else came in. Jin looked in the corner of his eyes, spotting the dirty blond hair the cop had. If he knew any better, he might just know who Jin was, if there were reports of him with pictures. So he kept his face hidden as he walked out of the store.

As Jin walked a few blocks to his destined location, he stuffed down the salad and drank half of the water bottle. Ah... It's been a month since he accidentally stabbed Jimin. Every time he found himself thinking about that situation, he felt really strange. He supposed... It was sadness? Grief? Regret? Guilt? He wasn't sure what he felt, but he knew he didn't like it.

Half an hour later, he found himself standing in eye's view of the apartment Jimin was living in. With that Yoongi boy, and Jungkook, too. If anything, he was happy that Jimin lived. Even after everything, even after raising him, Jin felt happy for him. But, Jimin...

... Was I nothing to you?

He was the first child Jin saved from abuse. That's how Jin saw it. What else would he see it as? Jimin was in a tough time. Jin wanted to help him and the other children grow up nicely, and if they wanted to, they could've also stayed to be what he was like. Some children stayed, some children were thankful however wanted to be adopted by others instead. They would always be in gratitude toward him, for letting them escape their hell.

But with Jimin... He never seemed to like Jin. That's how he saw it.

Always called a monster by the boy, it made him feel odd and secluded.

"Hey, what are you doing?" A voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He turned to look where the voice was, and noticed a dirty blond haired man staring him down. Oh, isn't he the cop from the corner store?

"I am simply standing here." He said.

The man narrowed his eyes, looking at Jin and at the apartment building, then back at Jin again. "Oh, yeah? A dirty looking man like you, staring at an apartment building..."

Jin was getting a little annoyed. If he could he'd cut the man's mouth so he could shut up. No, that was a joke. He wouldn't do that. Or would he?

"Alright, not talking, I see..." He rolled his eyes and walked away. Jin found it a little strange he was leaving so easily... When he was out of sight, Jin sighed and continued staring at the apartment, not moving an inch. Only 5 minutes later, a pink haired boy and a brown haired boy were holding hands walking into the apartment, both smiling and laughing. Yearningly, Jin started slowly walking to them. He then stopped, knowing Jimin wouldn't want to see his face, and because what he was doing was really off and dumb. Why was he feeling so weird? What was this feeling?

"So, you really are a stalker!" The familiar voice declared, and Jin rolled his eyes as he turned to stare at the cop, standing there with an accusing finger to the man.

"And what makes you say that?"

The man scoffed, very much displeased by the attitude. "It's pretty obvious; you were even staring like a freak for more than ten minutes at those two young men." Jin replied with silence. "Alright smart-guy, what's your name?"

"Can't you just leave me go on my way?" Jin was quiet because he was a little confused on why this cop didn't know who he was. Maybe that's a good thing, though.

"If you continue with this resistance, I'll need to bring you to the station." Jin raised an eyebrow, and then let a bellow of a laugh out, stunning the cop momentarily. He even cracked a little smile at the strange windshield wiper noise it sounded like, but quickly dismissed it.

"You're absolutely ridiculous. You can leave me alone and pretend this never happened. It will make your life a little easier, would it not?" He tried to argue his way out.

"You're really acting suspicious, now. You're going to have to come with me and we'll further discuss it at the station. We can do it with our without conflict, I don't mind which ever we do. You'll only end up there with, or without bruises, so which do you choose?" Jin glared at the man, all traces of his amused manners gone. He could definitely take him out of he wanted to. Stupid man.

With a clearly irked smile, he muttered, "Alright."

"Nobody's here." Jin said bluntly, sitting down at the chair in front of the desk the cop was sitting at. He glanced around, staring at the rather dull place. It was just him and this cop, who was being really stubborn with him.

"It's eleven at night. Not many people are going to be here. Well, there's " Jin tapped his fingers against the arm of the chair, patiently waiting for the man to ask whatever questions he was going to throw at him. He supposed this could be fun, though. It wasn't as if he had anything else better to do.

"First, I'd like to know why you were stalking those two boys."

"I wasn't." He stated simply. "You were the one stalking me."

The cop was evidently annoyed. Jin noticed his tongue pop out of his cheek, which was what some people did when they were irritated. Jin felt victorious in this interrogation, even letting a little grin form on his face. "Uh huh, right. Do you have any criminal records?"

Jin shook his head. "Of course not."

"... What's your name?"

Jin then did the strangest thing he'd ever done in his life. Instead of saying his current legal name, Jin Bak...

"It's Kim. Kim Seokjin."
