Chapter Fourteen: A Party? Part I

Miss Yer Kiss - SWMRS

Millie's P.O.V

The sleeves of my flannel covered up my hands making me feel warmer from sitting right under the air vent. Ms. Marges really had to place me in this stupid seat. As she reads more pages on our history textbook my eyes lids start to feel heavy. The sound of the school instantly woke me up. I grab my backpack and run out of the classroom. Several students were roaming around the hallways to head to the cafeteria. I found the table that Sadie and Noah usually sit at but no one was there.

"Hey Millie," I turn around seeing Noah and Sadie heading toward me. Noah had an excited expression on his face. Sadie probably told him what happened between me and Finn. "Tell me everything, Millie!" Noah says.

"I'll tell you later," I said as I rolled my eyes.

"Mills!" I turn around seeing Finn and his friends sitting at one of the cafeteria tables. He waves his hand wanting me to come.

"You guys wanna come?" I ask as I turn around seeing no one behind me. I turn back to seeing Sadie talking to Caleb while Noah was heading toward Grace. I rolled my eyes ahead toward Finn. Finn pats the seat that was next to him. I drop my backpack on the ground and took a seat next to him.

"Hey Mills," Finn says as he rests his arm on my chair.

"Hello Finn," I said as a crisscross my legs on my chair. "I'd like you to meet my friends," Finn says. I look around the table.

"I'm Grace," A short blond says with her hand out for me to shake. I took her hand a shook it politely.

"I'm Gaten," Says a curly haired boy while giving me a friendly wave with his hands wrapped around Graces.

"And you've already met Maddie and Caleb," I nod with agreement. I glance Maddie worried that she's glaring at me again, in fact, she is.

"Are sure Maddie is fine with me being here?" I ask leaning close to Finn with a softer tone. Finn glances at Maddie seeing her with a wide smile on her lips and looks back at me.

"She seems fine with it," Finn says while shrugging his shoulders as he leans in his chair.

"I wanna show you a song that I found," He says as he hands my one of his earbuds.

"Do you know Rex Orange County?" Finn asks as he scrolls through his phone searching for the song.

"I love Rex Orange County, my favorite song from him his Best Friend," I said excitedly sitting up.

"Well he recently released a new song and I think your gonna love it." He says as he presses play. The sound of a piano and drums played together making an amazing sound. The voice of Rex came to our ears making us both Finn and I to nod at the beat.

"Do you like it?" Finn asks excitedly.

"I love it, what's it called?" I asked.

"Loving Is Easy by Rex Orange County." I quickly pull out my phone adding the song to my phone.

"Hey guys," Caleb says grabbing everyone's attention.

"I'm gonna have a party tonight, are you guys in?" Caleb asks.

"Definitely," Sadie says excitedly.

"Sure," Gaten and Grace say in unison. Noah nods with approval while Maddie takes a sip of her coke.

"I'll only go if Finn is going," Maddie says as she takes another sip of her coke as she stares at Finn for an answer. Finn raises an eyebrow seeing everyone stare at him waiting for an answer.

"I'll only go if Millie's going," Finn says. My eyes widen. I was never a person that was interested in parties or have ever been to a party. Everyone's attention was all on me now.

"I don't know, I've never really been to a party," I hear Maddie snort with her coke against her lips making me roll my eyes.

"I'll go," I said confidently with my chin up high. I notice Maddie roll her eyes making me glare back at her as she looks away. The sound of the school bell rings through the cafeteria making students groan with annoyance and head to there next class.

"Can't wait to see you at the party Brown," Finn says sending me a wink as he heads to his next class.

"See you there," I said smiling back. I think sitting at the table was probably the best decision that I've ever made.

A party?

What the hell am I supposed to do at a party?

I don't drink, I don't dance, I don't smoke anything, I'm terrible at socializing, what the hell am I supposed to do? Both Sadie and Noah have been to several high school parties except for me. They ask me several times to go but I always pass.

"So you finally said yes to a party," Sadie says as she follows me as we both head out of the schools building.

"Just this one time," I said with my index finger raised.

"Because of Finn?" Sadie asks with an eyebrow raised. I roll my eyes as we continue to head to her car. I look around the parking lot spotting Finn and his friends hanging out in his car smoke cigarettes. Finn sends me a smile with a cigarette between his lips as I smile back.

"It's definitely because of Finn," Sadie says.

"I don't even know if I wanna go to the party, I mean what am I supposed to wear?" I ask as we reach Sadie's car. "Just come to my place and I'll give you an amazing makeover," She says while turning on the engine.

"A makeover? Are you serious?" I ask with an eyebrow raised. I feel like I'm in some kind of chick flick movie now hearing Sadie say that.

"Yes I'm serious, we hand out at my place and I'll put some makeup on you and let you borrow an amazing outfit with will making you extremely hot," I scrunch my nose hearing her emphasize the word "hot". I look at the parking lot again as Sadie backs away from her parking spot. I see Finn looking at my direction with a cancer stick still in-between his lips sending me a wink making me roll my eyes but feel warm inside and wave bye.

"I saw that," Sadie says as she drives away from the schools parking lot.

"Saw what?" I ask cluelessly.

"Neverminds lets just head to my place." She says as she shaking her head in disappointment as she looks back at the road.

Finn's P.O.V

The sound of chips was being poured in a bowl as I sit on Caleb's sofa scrolling through channels on Caleb's flat screen TV.

"Hey pretty boy, you gonna help or not?" Caleb asks annoyed as he pulls out large soda bottles and alcohol.

"Yeah yeah, I'm coming," I said as I lazily get up from the sofa. I walk into his kitchen finding more bowls and placing them on the kitchen counter pouring more chips in each bowl while Caleb mixes up several drinks filled with alcohol and puts them all together in a punch bowl. His parents are gonna be gone this whole weekend so he decided that this weekend is the best weekend to throw a party.

"Do you think she'll show up?" Caleb asks as he pulls out a stack of red cups. I raise an eyebrow at him acting like I don't know which "she" is he talking about.

"Don't play dumb with me," I rolled my eyes as I crumple up the empty chips bags and toss them in the trash.

"She did say yes,"

"Yeah, but what if she doesn't show up?" Caleb asks. I shrug my shoulders acting not too concerned about Millie coming or not. I'm gonna hear all night. To be honest I'll feel a little disappointed if she doesn't show up. Caleb will be too busy all over Sadie while I'm surrounded by drunk dumbasses.

Music was blasting through the larger speakers that were surrounding Caleb's house. Caleb's taste in music is entirely opposite of mine. The sound of some wrapper blasted through Caleb's house making every teenager to dance to the music. I cringe hearing the extremely bad lyrics coming out of the rapper's mouth. Every teenager that's stuffed in this house had a red cup in there hand that has some alcohol that Caleb mixed.

I stayed on Caleb's sofa that was far from the crowd of teenagers dancing with a red cup in my hand filled with some mixture of alcohol. I used to enjoy these parties, I was that one guy that jugged every drink in the room, danced to every song, had sex with some girl that I just met, but ever since I met Millie I've been choosing not to do any of those things. Millie hasn't shown up yet so I'm stuck all alone. I pull out my phone and scroll through Instagram finding nothing interesting.

"Is this seat taken?" I look up seeing Maddie with a smirk on her cherry red lips. Her face was filled with powdered makeup which made her pretty. Her grey dress was up to her mid-thigh. Her tight dress caused her slim body to be visible which made her look attractive. Her blond hair was curled causing it to bounce with every move she makes. Maddie is very pretty but for some reason, Millie seems to be prettier.

"Nope," I said as I slip my phone back into my pocket giving her more room for her to sit. She takes a seat next to me with only giving me an inch of space.

"What happened to the 'Party Finn' I know?" Maddie asks as she leans back on the sofa comfortably.

"Party Finn isn't feeling it today," I said as I take a sip of my cup.

"What's the matter, Finn? Is something bothering you?" Maddie asks as she leans closer to me with sympathetic eyes.

"Oh, nothing, I was just expecting someone to be here by now and they aren't which kind of disappoints me a little," I explain as I stare at my cup.

"Is it Millie?" She asks with her eyebrows close together. I nob my head yes as I stare at my red cup. She places her hand on my thigh making me look up at her.

"Don't worry, I'll be here to keep you company," She says as she leans closer to me. I send her a fake smile still worried if Millie will show up or not.

"Cheers," She says as she lifts her red cup in the air.

"Cheer," I said back lifting up mine making it bounce against hers. As I take a swig of my drink I feel lips press against my cheek. I pull my drink away from my lips awkwardly laughing at her gesture. Maddie had a wide smile on her lips making me feel a little uncomfortable.

"I am not wearing that!" I said angrily seeing the tiny black spaghetti strap crop top that'll show my entire stomach.

"Come on Millie, you'll look amazing in this!" Sadie says as she brings that tiny cloth close to me making me back away. Sadie rolls my eyes for seeing my actions.

"Do you want to go to the party or not?" I slowly nod my head yes and scrunch my nose as I look at the tiny cloth again. Sadie was already ready for the party, now it's just me that she has to deal with.

"Then put this on, and this one too!" She says as she hands my the tiny crop top with a black skirt that's filled with white flowers. It took an hour or two just for Sadie to put makeup on me. She wanted to give me some kind of smoky eye look that apparently looks good on me. My lips were blended with the color of black and beige which made a natural look on me.

Sadie wanted to do something with my hair. She made my hair have large curls making it look a little shorter. I walked into Sadie's bathroom slipping on the clothes. I check myself in the mirror seeing way too much skin. The skirt was mid-thigh showing most of my legs. Three inches of my stomach was visible.

"Are you fucking kidding me, Sadie?" I ask yelling through the bathroom door.

"Just come out Millie," She yells back. I hear her foot tapping on her wooden floor. I unlock her bathroom door finally walking out. Sadie's eyes widen with a smirk on her lips.

"Millie you look hot!" I scrunch my nose hearing that word comes out of her mouth.

"Let's just get the party over with," I said annoyed.

"Wait," she says as she runs to her closet she pulls out a pair of doc martens and drops them in front of me.

"Put that on," She says as she runs to her drawer that was filled with jewelry. I slip on the pair of black doc martens quickly tying up the shoelaces.

"Put this on," Sadie says holding out several necklaces with a couple of charms on the end and one with a key on it. I quickly slip it on letting it hang against my chest.

"Now you're ready, now let's go,"

I still cringe from reading this.
