INK Chapter Eight--Icys POV

I awoke lying in the cave that Bloc had brought me to, though now, there was no one but me.

The floor was still glowing brilliantly yet, to me, it was not as stunning as it had been the first time I saw it, and as I sat there I wondered if I should leave; so I began to wander throughout the caves.

Being in the caves cleared my mind, and after a while I had forgotten my thoughts about leaving entirely.

But a painting that stood on the cave wall now in front of me made my heart stop.

The scene on this wall was much brighter than the others, it was in a way; fresher, but what was happening in it made my ears burn with fear and shock.

It was of the Northern packs camp. A sunset reflected off the ocean waves, turning it red. A fox with a pelt that matched the setting sun laid on the stepping stones I had once know so well; dark red glowing paint seamed to flow like blood from a wound on his neck.

Above him, on the cave that made the packs camp stood a fox, his purple eyes gleaming with content and his fur easily recognizable, for it had been burned into my memory by events I had once cherished, and had at one point, never wanted to forget.

"What are you doing here?" a calm voice asked from behind me.

"When did this happen?" I asked him, still facing the painting, though forcing myself to no longer gaze at the painful sight.

"Just a moment ago.." he replied then asking again he said "What are you doing here?"

"A friend of mine let me in." I said as I turned to face the new comer. For a moment I realized that I knew him. "Aqua?" I asked, startled at seeing his face again, after so many years of him being exiled.

"Icy." he said in a low voice. As he stepped back, unsure of what to say.

"Your a demon too?" I asked quietly.

"No," he said as he took a step back. "I'm not."

"Then why are you here?" I asked, he hadn't been gone that long from the pack, so if he hadn't died fighting then how else?

"I'm a Purifier." he stated. His voice holding no emotion.

"Did you do this." I growled.

"Yes."

"Why?" I snapped loudly, leaving my voice to echo around the walls.

"Because, it is my job to paint major events before they fade away as most memories do. Until the thousand days are up, I am in charge of painting all major events." Aqua said, he stood strait his voice emotionless as he spoke clearly.

I looked back at the painting, this was to much! How many more secrets would I have to keep from those I loved and why was it all being given to me?

Before Aqua could say anything more I pushed my way past him, running into the hall. Other caves rushed past me, no longer appearing as glowing works of art, now they we nothing more then streams of light that fled past my eyes.

Only when I reach the main cave did I slow down.

With out thinking I walked into the exit tunnel. It was just as dark and tight as it had been the first time. It felt slightly calming but after a few minutes of the silence dark thoughts filed themselves into my mind; worries of getting lost in this long dark tunnel, of turning a wrong direction and getting lost forever.

I felt my pace gaining speed, and soon I was sprinting again.

I only ran for a second before I crashed into something. It was to soft to be a wall, but for a moment I fell into panic again before his scent flooded my sences.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered quietly.

"Why?" he slightly gasped as if he had not expected me to appear so suddenly.

"I- I wanted to kill you... T- To kill them..." now I was sobbing into pelt, hardly able to hear my words though the echoes of my sobbs.

"That's not your fault, the Ink tricked you." he soothed

"But what about Stripes? I didn't hurt him did I?"

"No, Bloc was guarding the entrance to the eastern packs cave with their spirits, and you went strait for Ivy anyway. Don't worry, you didn't harm anyone."

"Flair?" I herd Blocs voice whisper "Stripes wasn't at the camp the entire time."

He said it quietly, obviously trying to hide what he said from me.

"Your sure?" Flair gasped with me still leaning against him.

"Yes, the whole camp panicked when they noticed; but he soon came back just before you came to get me."

"What did he have to say about being gone?"

"That he had been hunting and hadn't seen a single trace of the Ink. I didn't bother to tell him it was Icy, he would have gone looking for her body. He even came back with a huge feral cat as prey."

I felt Flair nod his response, as he talked again to me. "Come on Icy," he murmured as he helped me stand up.

"Flair.. I need to talk to you alone.." I said as I steadied myself.

"Okay." he said uncertainly as he signaled for Bloc to leave us.

Once Bloc left Flair asked "What is it Icy?"

"Sun is dead." I whispered with fear causing my voice to shake.

"He cant be! I was just with him!"he said loudly his voice echoing around the tunnels.

"Shhh!" I snapped The quietly I continued "He was murdered just after I got here..."

"That vixen was right!" Flair gasped quietly.

"Who?"

"Uh.. White vixen with purple stripes." he stuttered.

"Rye! She told me that Ivy was in for power, if Ivy finds out how much she knows she imprison them!"

"Why not kill them?"

"Because they would come back as spirits, Ivys not completely stupid Flair, only enough to forget who is on and who isn't on her side. In death they would only be made stronger. Ivy didn't even lay a claw on Sun, she had someone do it for her."

"Then who did?"

I could have answered his question but instead I sighed "I- I don't know." I didn't need to tell him yet.

---

Our walk back to the main cave was held in silence, my head was too filled with dark thoughts to speak any more.

"He thinks we were talking about him..." Flair sighed when we reached the cave.

Block stood in the center of the room, his eyes fixed on us; interest making them seam even lighter purple than ever.

"Well," I grunted "He should mind his own business."

The silence then continued until Flair spoke up to both of us.

"The sun is rising in the waking world. I need to return to them."

I nodded "Keep an eye on Stripes. And you should take Bloc with you, he's proven his loyalty towards us and I think if he keeps it up in the waking world he may be changed to a spirit."

Flair met my eyes, "I understand, we all need a second chance."

Then as he walked over to Bloc he looked at me one last time and the two of them vanished.

-----

Sooooo? What do you think?! Still don't know how Flair will react next time he sees Ivy but here's a new question!

Who will be the next point of view?

a) Flair

b) Icy

c) Ivy

d) Bloc

e) Stripes

Give me your guesses in the comments!!!
