:Dusk Until Dawn: [Chapter: 17] //A Vampire Romance//

So I'm not going to lie. I took Kale's power from Twilight~! But who cares right? Everyone steals some Twilight ideas because that's just how it goes because Twilight is pretty much the cliched vampire story. I'm not bothered by taking an idea that thousands of other people use :D

I went to Bamboozle on Sunday night. It was fricking sweet. All Time Low, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Boys Like Girls, LMFAO, Forever The Sickest Kids and Third Eye Blind. They were all awesome. LMFAO really got the crowd moving even though I hate that band. And All Time Low was hilarious :) It was my second time seeing them. Boys Like Girls messed up "thunder" but they started off with Love Drunk and I thought that was perfect haha.

Anyways. You don't care. Onto the story lol.

Oh god this is a short chapter DX sorry.

"Is someone going to explain to me what is going on here?" I demanded, glowering at the three other people in the room.

Two of them looked at me warily, one just glared. I glared back at the one who was glaring at me.

Dustin had left, leaving me alone with Damian, Ayden and the Damian look alike.

It had definitely not been Damian who had come back into the room I was told to stay in a few hours ago. The man, who looked almost exactly like Damian, was now sitting across from me with a scowl on his face. No one had explained anything yet.

Now that I there was better lighting, I studied the other Damian's face. His hair was slightly shorter, and not as messy. It was slightly spiked with gel as well. His facial features were an exact replica of Damian's however.

"Ow!" I hissed as something burned on my arm. I twisted to give Damian a glare.

"Sorry," he mumbled apologetically, pulling the cloth that was on my arm away. I looked into my eyes and saw how sad they looked.

"It's okay," I responded, softening my look. "I hope you're not thinking that I got hurt because of you."

"It is my fault," Damian countered, his gaze hardening. "If I hadn't left you alone then-"

"No ifs," I told him, holding up my pointer finger to silence him. "This is the 'Maddie it's not your fault the car crashed' reasoning again. Let's just drop it. Everyone is okay."

Damian smiled slightly, gazing at me intently. I felt my face redden and tried my best to hold his gaze. Now that I was thinking about Damian, the proximity of our bodies came screaming to my attention. There was barely an inch between him and myself, that's how close he was sitting. My face burned again and Damian gave me a dazzling smile. Somebody cleared their voice and my eyes snapped onto the Damian look alike.

"Who is she?" he demanded, gesturing to me with a scowl.

"Who are you?" I retorted, glowering at him.

"Um," Ayden started, getting our attention. He cleared his throat. "Maddie, this is Damian's twin, Kale. Kale, this is Damian and Callie's friend, and my student from school, Maddie."

Twin? I blanked. Damian had a twin? How come I didn't know this before? I had known him for over two months! I turned to look accusingly at Damian who gave me a mysterious smile in return. I blinked and then looked back at Kale, who was glaring at me.

"What is she doing here?" Kale demanded, glowering at me, then at Ayden, and back again. He didn't seem like a very happy person.

"She is obviously here because she found out about you," Ayden replied, frowning at Kale. "Don't be so rude."

"Why does a human know about us?" Kale accused, ignoring Ayden's comment. "They aren't supposed to know."

"No," Damian intervened, glaring at Kale, "they aren't supposed to know. But she is a special case, and does."

"It doesn't change the fact the she knows when humans aren't supposed to know we exist!" Kale responded, glaring at his brother. He then turned his harsh look on me. "Why are you barging in on our life anyway?"

I stared at him in shock. Why was he being so unfriendly? This was the first time I met him. Didn't he know of first impressions?

"Don't use that tone with Maddie," Damian snapped, glaring at his twin. "If you do again, I swear I will-"

"What? Make an empty threat?" Kale riposted with a smirk.

Damian growled at Kale, his eyes narrowing.

"Kale, stop it," Ayden ordered and Kale looked away from Damian at once.

"Um..." I started, trying to think of something to say. A bunch of questions suddenly bubbled up. "Why did those vampire's attack you? And why did you keep Kale a secret from me? And am I really not supposed to know about you guys? Why did you tell me?"

"Why are you so damn nosy?" Kale shot at me, another scowl on his face.

I stared at him once more, taken aback. He was being such a jerk! I forced myself to look away, at Ayden, who was running a hand over his face.

"I'm sorry for Kale's attitude," he started, heaving a heavy sigh. "He's a very anti-social person."

"I can't tell," I muttered, earning a chuckle from Damian.

"Let us start with why the vampire's attacked us, shall we?" Ayden inquired.

I nodded my head.

"Do you remember how my family was changed into a vampire?"

I nodded once more. "Because the clan that attacked you wanted more vampires."

"Precisely," Ayden responded with a smile. "The vampires who attacked us tonight attacked us for the same reason. Their motive was to, at first, try to talk with us to encourage us to join their clan. However, when they noticed the presence of a human in the house their goal changed into changing you into a vampire and forcing you to join the clan. At the first sign of any opposition to changing you they decided to use violence. Of course, that was my fault," Ayden added, "I told them they couldn't have you when I saw them after coming back from dropping Callie off."

"Why did they want you to join their clan?"

"Officially, there are five different clan groups around here," Damian responded for Ayden. "In the clan groups, there are smaller factions, like my family, and sometimes they try to get other factions to join their clan."

"So those who attacked you guys were part of a different clan?" I asked to make sure I was getting it straight.

"Obviously," Kale snorted.

"Shut up, Kale," Damian shot at him. "She wasn't asking you."

"Who said I couldn't comment on-"

"Let's move on," Ayden interrupted Kale, narrowing his eyes at him slightly. "You're next question I believe was why we kept Kale a secret from you?"

"Can you guess why?" Damian asked before I had a chance to respond to Ayden.

I shook my head. "No..."

"Well he's got a bit of a temper-"

"A bit?" Damian scoffed.

"He is sort of a special case. He doesn't really like going out that much, or seeing people, because on rare occasions he can see that person's future. Although sometimes, he rather not see it," Ayden explained, ignoring Damian.

"Who said you could tell her!" Kale demanded, heating up at once and jumping onto his feet. "Just what I need! More people who think I'm weird for being able to see the future!"

"I don't think it's weird!" I commented at once. "That's actually pretty cool!"

Kale stared at me for a second in shock. Then his face darkened. "Yeah, it's cool until you see someone's death!" He than chucked a pillow at me and proceeded to stomp out of the room.

"Kale!" Damian and Ayden barked sharply.

"Oof!" I gasped as the pillow hit me in the chest with heavy force. It fell onto my lap and I rubbed my chest, amazed at the force.

"Are you okay?" Damian questioned in a worried voice. "I am going to kill him," he threatened under his breath.

"No, I'm okay," I responded, shaking my head. "The force just took me by surprise."

Ayden smiled. "He can be harsh sometimes."

I shrugged. Not everyone had to like me. Thought I had to admit, it was a little strange having someone I didn't even know seem to hate my guts. "It's okay. I suppose he has his reasons."

"He doesn't," Damian muttered darkly.

Ayden sighed. "Well to answer your next question, technically, you aren't supposed to know that vampires exist."

I stared at him and blinked. "Is it some sort of law?"

"Kind of," Ayden responded, frowning slightly. "It isn't like there is anything bad going to happen to you for knowing, but, let's say for example, you told your brother. Then your brother might tell one of his friends, who'd tell his friend and so on. We can't have that many people know about our existence. That's why for someone to know, they must have a special reason."

"And my reason is...?"

"Well because-"

Damian cleared his throat and Ayden stopped talking at once, smiling sheepishly at me.

"Well you were bound to find out at one point since we are neighbors," Damian pointed out and shrugged. "It's easier to tell you, and after the accident it seemed like it would be the perfect time to tell you."

"Right," Ayden agreed.

I narrowed my eyes at the two of them. That obviously wasn't what Ayden was going to say. Ayden avoided my gaze and I sighed, dropping it. I guess it didn't matter.

"Well you answered all my questions," I commented, breaking the slightly awkward silence. "I think I should go home now before Will thinks something bad has happened..."

"Something bad did happen," Damian responded, looking pained once more. "To you at least."

I waved him off. "These cuts and bruises are nothing." I waved my arm slightly to show him. "I'll just tell Will I fell down the stairs or something."

Ayden laughed. "Yeah, because stairs would get you so bloody."

"I've gotten all the blood off of me," I responded, sticking my tongue out.

"But not off your clothes," Damian pointed out, gesturing towards the bloodstains on my shirt and pants.

I smiled sheepishly. "Would it be alright if I borrowed some clothing?"

Damian and Ayden both chuckled.

"Come with me, we'll go raid Callie's room for something for you to wear," Damian suggested, standing up.

"Okay," I agreed standing up as well and following him towards Callie's room.
