     "YOU have no idea how much social media frustrates me kinsley. it's like, one minute we're fine and we're flirting and then the next it's like something clicks in her mind an we're just friends." one of kinsley's good friends, spencer fudd, said. they met up inside of a pizza place a few hours before the game vs uconn. which is where spencer is from.

kinsley told spencer all about the recent things with caitlin and spencer was telling her about paige bueckers. unlike kinsley and caitlin, spencer and paige actually have something going for them. but due to the media, they're forced to keep it a secret.

"i know that she's probably just scared that someone will catch us and take a picture and post it but i hate how she's like that all the time. i can't blame her i'm like that too, but it sucks." spencer said groaning and dropping her head down to her hands covering her face.

"do you think if it was between a girl and a boy it'll be much easier?" kinsley asked as it was the only thing she was thinking about. what if paige or spencer was a boy, the media would've taken it better. sure there would still be haters but not as much as girlfriends.

"fuck yeah." spencer said with a scoff. "i wish i had a fucking dick. it'll be big too, shit."

"god i love being your friend." kinsley said with a laugh. spencer laughed as well and shrugged her shoulders.

"anyways, tell me more about you and caitlin. what's going on there?" spencer asked picking up her phone and texting paige that she'll meet up with her in a bit. kinsley sighed deeply and looked at her phone. she found it weird that there was a text message from caitlin.

"there's nothing really. i'm just trying to let go the grudge i have against her and i guess be her friend. but my friends just want me to forgive and forget when she hasn't even said sorry for what she did." kinsley said taking a bite from her pizza. her eyes kept on going down to her phone wanting to open the text from caitlin.

"open up the text message kinsley." spencer said letting out a laugh. kinsley shook her head causing spencer to roll her eyes, "come on, answer her. i have to call my sister either way. be right back." spencer said calling her sister and standing up, "yes azzi?"

kinsley threw her head back with a loud huff. kinsley picked up her phone and opened up her text message. kinsley's eyes widen and she slammed her phone back down on the table. when spencer came back with a confused look kinsley pressed her legs together and dropped her head down to her hand.

"you look like someone send you the start of a sext." spencer said sitting down. kinsley closed her eyes causing spencer to gasp. "kinsley chung!"

"it wasn't a sext, but it was something." kinsley said reopening the text messages. she hates her but she's not blind. she knows how attractive caitlin can be. she knows that there are a lot of people on the internet and even in person that call her attractive. but kinsley never knew she could get attracted to her.

spencer's mouth dropped even though she didn't see the photo. "did it say anything or did she just send it randomly?" spencer asked leaning forward. kinsley couldn't even look down to the text as her eyes lingered on the picture. "stop eye fucking her through a screen."

"god i'm going insane. i can't be finding her attractive spence. the world is ending. someone call the government." kinsley said shutting off her phone and dropping her head completely into her hands. kinsley let out a groan as she hates that she could feel and hear two heartbeats. her face is fully red and her mind couldn't stop going to the stupid picture that caitlin send her.

"or, you're maturing." spencer said giving kinsley a smile.

"no the world is definitely ending."

"hey cheerleader! how you've been?" paige asked as kinsley and spencer walked up to her. both teams were practicing or doing warm ups. the cheerleaders were inside of the locker rooms or chilling outside. kinsley decided to stick to spencer not wanting to face caitlin.

"i've been good p. how's recovery going?" kinsley asked giving the blonde a quick hug before sitting down besides her. spencer decided to sit on the ground in between paige's leg. kinsley smiled softly to herself as this was their time to be able to act however they wanna act without being judge.

paige brought her fingers up to spencers' locks and started braiding them and spencer leaned into her touch. kinsley wanted to puke at the couple in front of her, but she found it cute how spencer put her chin on paige's leg and closed her eyes.

"it's going good. hey how's this thing with cai— ow!" paige hissed glaring down at spencer who kept her eyes closed even after pinching paige. "is there something going on with you and ca—spencer!"

"oh you big baby i'm not even pinching you that hard." spencer said letting out a scoff.

kinsley laughed but it died down as she thought about paige's question. there's nothing going on with them. they're simply just there. kinsley is maturing and slowly getting to the point where her and caitlin will eventually be friends. but why do i feel. kinsley thought to herself.

"no, there's nothing going on." kinsley said looking away from the couple and over to the basketball players. her eyes landed on number twenty two. she was laughing with kate. her smile was wide showing her dimples. kinsley frowned to herself and tilted her head to the side.

caitlin could feel her piercing eyes. the basketball player turned her head over to kinsley who didn't bother looking away. caitlin noticed how kinsley's face was painting completely in confusion. caitlin found herself mouthing, what's wrong, to the cheerleader who's lips simply turned into a frown.

caitlin was even more confused when spencer put her hand on kinsley's arm and then paige started talking to her. kate brought her back to the conversation forcing caitlin to look away from them leaving her mind filled with questions.

"no one is forcing you to admit you like her, i was only joking because i really don't know what's going on." paige said holding her arms up in surrender causing kinsley to let out a laugh. "but what i do know from what i've been picking up is that caitlin cares for you. she has been caring for you for years. ever since freshman year and i think it's good that you're giving yourself a chance to see who she truly is. you're not forced to like her in a romantic way that's just jokes, but once you give her a chance you'll like her. as a friend."

"she cares?" kinsley asked leaning back against the chair.

"oh yeah," paige said letting out a laugh. "she was worried shitless after she hit you with that ball and you had to go to the hospital to get your head checked. she texted me multiple times. hailey almost slapped her once because she wouldn't shut up even after a year later. she's been trying to get you to forgive her since freshman year. have you really not noticed?"

"no." kinsley admitted looking back over to caitlin who was now laying on the ground in a star fish position looking up at the sky. has she really been blinded by hate that she didn't see her? has she been wasting years on hating her than giving her the chance she deserves? yes.

it was an okay game. uconn won and it was a fair play. even so, kinsley was still disappointed. they were all disappointed. kinsley picked up her cheer bag and started heading over to the bus shuttle to head back to the hotel.

the second that kinsley stepped outside she shivered from head to toe. kinsley wrapped her arms around her body and slowly walked over to the bus. she swore she was about to freeze into her place if it wasn't for some draping a hoodie over her back.

kinsley turned around dropping the hoodie off her back and holding it. her feelings were getting the best of her because naturally she would've just shoved it to caitlin's chest and told her that she doesn't want or need her help. but she doesn't.

instead kinsley dropped her cheer bag, which caitlin leans forward and picks it up for her putting it over her shoulder. kinsley threw on the hoodie over her body and immediately felt the warmth. it smells like her. the hoodie fit her perfectly expect that it was a bit long due to caitlin being a bit taller than her.

give her a chance. ran through her mind. worst part of it all was that it was in paige's voice. kinsley gave caitlin a small smile and looked at the bus then back at caitlin. "hey, um, do you wanna sit with me on the bus? we can watch something if-if you want." kinsley said looking down at her shoes finding them very interesting at the moment.

"we can watch the walking dead." caitlin said hosting up both of the bags. her own bag and kinsley's cheer bag.

"i was thinking barbie," kinsley said putting her lips in a tight line. caitlin gave her a look making kinsley roll her eyes. "whatever we can watch your zombie show. but the second there's a jumpscare i'm killing you."

"you sure do know how to charm a lady, kenny." caitlin said throwing her arm around kinsley's shoulder. kinsley shrugged it off and glared up at the basketball player. "still not much of a touchy person. got it." caitlin said holding her arms up.

kinsley smiled softly and just for that she stayed to caitlin's side. their shoulders touching. the group stood behind them with their mouth dropped to the floor and taking pictures. madison broke out into a cry along with stefani who used her brothers shirt as a tissue.

"they're growing up." monika said pouting her lips.

"about time too." kate said she glanced over at monika and she had tears in her eyes. kate looked at stefani and madison and laughed.
