CHAPTER FIVE
change of feelings !

THE girls have had four more games after SU. they only had one lose but the rest were good. kinsley and the rest of the cheerleaders haven't seen the basketball players for five total days. the basketball women were too busy practicing and lucy was teaching her cheerleaders a new routine.

the day before the oregon game, both teams had a travel day. kinsley was dreading travel day. she hates it so much because lucy loves getting up at the crack of dawn to make sure that they don't miss their flights. she even convinced the girls basketball coach to get up at the same time.

"here," stefani said letting out a yawn as she passed each of them a cup of coffee. kinsley shook her head standing up, grabbing her wallet and going to one of the stores. kinsley was rubbing her eyes standing in line. she was dozing off that she tilted to the side and almost fell but someone grabbed her.

"didn't know you needed a babysitter kenny." caitlin said putting her hand on kinsley's back. kinsley didn't really care since she was holding her up. also she was half asleep and wasn't thinking straight. yeah. kinsley ignored her and took a step forward.

"hey, can i get an ice coffee and a cake pop, please." kinsley said before turning over to caitlin, "she'll have a black coffee and a burnt sandwich."

the man behind the counter raised his eyebrows at caitlin. "i sure do love my burnt sandwich." caitlin said wrapping her arm around kinsley waist. kinsley's eyes twitched and payed for the food. when kinsley walked away from caitlin, the taller girl took out her wallet and got a twenty dollar bill.

caitlin walked back to kinsley and slipped those twenty inside of her back pocket. kinsley waited patiently for her order on the tall table. caitlin laughed when kinsley dropped her head down to the table.

when they called her name, the cheerleader didn't budge causing caitlin to roll her eyes and go over to grab the food. "kenny here." caitlin said shaking her awake. kinsley woke up and her eyes widen at her drink.

caitlin took out the cake pop and was going to hand it to kinsley but then took a bite out of it. "i'm going to kill you." kinsley said the second that caitlin hummed and took another bite. kinsley picked up her black coffee and took the lid off about to throw it at her but caitlin laughed and grabbed it.

"mhm, so good. thank you, kenny." caitlin said patting her head, grabbing her coffee and sandwich walking away. kinsley squinted and in an instant walked back to the guy and asked for an ice cup of water. the man gave it to her.

kinsley grabbed her drink and ice water heading back to where the rest of the girls and the two boys were at. caitlin's back was facing her and she was talking with monika and madison. madison was going say soemthing but kinsley was already behind caitlin.

"we don't interfere with their drama." lisa bulder, the woman's basketball coach, said to lucy who was going to stand up and scold at kinsley. "they've done much worse than throw ice water at each other."

"what." lucy said turning her head to lisa.

"try snakes." lisa said causing lucy's eyes to widen in horror. lisa then laughed and waved her hand. "only joking. but they have shocked each other with tasers before."

"what!" lucy gasped.

"kenny!" caitlin gasped shakily as the ice went down her back. everyone around then either look away or stood up to sit somewhere else. caitlin stood up and shook her shirt getting the bunch of ices off from her body.

"oh, my hand slipped." kinsley said walking away, throwing the empty cup inside of the trash can. she stormed off but caitlin was angrily trailing behind her. caitlin reached her and hooked her hand around her elbow dragging her inside of the one person bathroom.

"hey!" kinsley hissed and groaned in slight pain when her back was pressed against the door with her hand holding tightly on her drink. kinsley then giggled as she looked up at caitlin.

"it is seven in the morning, kenny." caitlin said hovering over kinsley who giggled once again and smiled. it irritated caitlin on how she was finding this amusing. "you think it's funny?"

"oh, i think it's hilarious how i'm able to push every single button of yours and you still be surprised by my actions." kinsley said pressing herself against the door. she wanting so badly to get on her tipy toes to be able to be at least the same height as her. caitlin is 6'0 and shes 5'6, sure she maybe be tall but not tall enough to reach caitlin.

"do i make you feel things caitlin?" kinsley hummed tilting her head to the side and smirking. caitlin held in her breath as she stepped closer to kinsley. their bodies almost pressing but they could feel their breath brushing against each other. kinsley bite her lip and looked up at caitlin with her doe eyes.

"what." caitlin breathed out her eyes going back and forth from kinsley and the rest of her face. this only caused kinsley to hold her smirk even longer. kinsley caved in and got on her tipy toes. caitlin took this time to glance down at her lips and back to her eyes.

"keep dreaming, clark." kinsley said as the action didn't go past her. caitlin was dumbfounded as kinsley went back to her feet, pushed caitlin by her chest away and walked out of the bathroom. caitlin stood there by the door watching kinsley walk. even with her wearing oversized comfy clothes she still managed to show her swaying hips.

maybe monika is right.

the game was a good one. kinsley couldn't be more proud of the girls. kinsley ran over to them waving her pom poms in the air. monika cheered as well and picked up kinsley. "shit!" kinsley gasped as monika hold her up on her shoulder. kinsley put her hands on her shoulder as monika held her arms around her legs. "i'm flying!"

everyone started chanting. kinsley kept on screaming holding onto monika like her life depended on it. kinsley glanced down to see caitlin laughing at her. "continue laughing clark and i'll jump on you." kinsley muttered as monika did a spin.

"funny of you to assume the till catch you." caitlin said causing kinsley to raise her eyebrows at her. is she thinking straight? probably not. but when caitlin laughed again kinsley just had to prove a point. she hates being herself sometimes. kinsley made sure caitlin was behind her before turning back to the front.

kinsley took monika's hands off her and held in her breath as she leaned backwards. caitlin's eyes widen in horror quickly going behind kinsley and catching her. kinsley breathed heavily as she landed with her legs bend but her upper body being held by caitlin who, if looks could kill kinsley would be six feet under.

"did i assume right?" kinsley whispered to her as caitlin lifting her up. kinsley stayed close to her not realizing how close their faces were. the cheerleaders and basketball players all went into the lockers, monika cursing at kinsley but once she saw that caitlin was with her she brushed it off.

"you're insane kenny." caitlin muttered so deeply wanting to bring her rough hand up to the cheerleader cheek and rub her thumb against her soft skin. how much she wanted to hug kinsley. how much she wanted to continue talking.

kinsley frowned but not at caitlin. at herself. something new erupted inside of her stomach. her cheeks flushed red as her eyes shamelessly went down from caitlin's eyes to her lips. she surprised herself. kinsley shook her head and without a single word ran out.

"kenny? kinsley!" caitlin called out but kinsley pushed open the doors and went outside of fresh air. kinsley leaned against the outside of the building and put a hand on her chest. she pressed her hand against her heart wanting it to slow down.

the doors open and kinsley dropped her head down so that her ponytail can cover her face. it was no use.

"kin, hey what's wrong? cait said that you just ran out." stefani said closing the door and quickly going to her best friend. kinsley kneeled down and cried. stefani was taken back that kinsley was crying. kinsley is the type of person that she will show every single type of emotion expect love and sadness.

kinsley crossed her arms and dropped her head down to her arms. stefani kneeled down in front of her. "fuck why am i crying." kinsley groaned lifting her head up and wiping away her tears roughly. she laughed and shook her head. "stef,"

"yeah?" stefani whispered.

"i looked at her lips stef. what is wrong with me? i don't even like her as a friend but i looked at her lips and something inside me exploded. i hate caitlin, stef." kinsley said confusing herself. "right?"

"baby, this is something you have to figure out by yourself. i know how shitty it sounds and i wish i could do more to help you, but this is between you and your emotions and figuring out who you are. this game between you and caitlin was going to end eventually, but now you have to figure out why and how you want it to end. what do you feel when you're around her? do you truly hate her or are you hiding something deeper?"

"i'm still angry of what she did freshman year. i don't know why i kept that anger inside of me but i don't want to unleash it the wrong way anymore." kinsley said. she may not figure out what the hell happened back there with caitlin but she knows something now. "i think i'll like to be friends with her."

how ironic to say of her knowing that just a few hours ago before going to the game kinsley planted a fart bomb inside of her hotel room. kinsley eyes widen at what she remembered. "shit."

"what?" stefani asked trying to hold back the giant grin.

"i put a fart bomb inside of caitlin's room." kinsley said before letting out a laugh. "god am i just so good!"

stefani closed her eyes and shook her head. even if kinsley and caitlin want to become friends now after their years of rivalry, it still won't change the way they play with one another. it grew to them and without those small pranks or comebacks, how would they do if the other is truly mad.

"we're going to work on that." stefani said patting kinsleys' and standing up.
