CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

SECOND round ended faster than any other game. despite the millions of heart attacks that georgia was about to beat them. then during third where both teams couldn't make either of the baskets until caitlin made one bringing the game back into a quick pace.

after the girls celebrated their win inside of the arena they decided on a team dinner since they haven't had that in a while. kinsley offered a ride to her friend group who didn't bring their car.

they dropped off the girls in their dorms and the two long time friends were on their way back to their apartment to get ready. stefani blasted music in the living room tv and the girls left their doors open so that the music can be heard from their rooms.

kinsley went full face makeup. she hasn't done it in a while and the makeup that they have to do for cheer makes me look like a unicorn puked on her face. she even did smoky eyeliner which made her want to scream every five seconds. she held in her breath as she continued her eye makeup not wanting to breath the wrong way and completely ruining the entire look. ( ITS A REAL STRUGGLE )

she left her hair pin straight down and then went on to choosing her outfit. that was probably harder than doing her make up. kinsley stood with a dad pose position looking inside of her closet and scanning through every piece of clothing.

stefani came inside already dressed and her make up done, all she needed to do was her hair. she had a brown dress that was open from the sides that reached all the way to the floor. she showed kinsley the sandals that she was wearing and smiled when kinsley whistled at her.

once stefani stepped out and kinsley went back to looking for her outfit, she finally settled on a black long sleeve dress. the front was a square shaped. caitlin texted them that they were on their way and be there less than twenty minutes. kinsley rushed over to her vanity and sprayed perfume and made sure her make up was still good.

"let's go!" stefani shouted stomping a little bit to gain kinsleys attention more clearer.

"going! going!" kinsley shouted back slamming her door shut and going to the hallway closet. she grabbed a long nude color coat since it was still a bit cold late at night. she slipped on her black platform boot. stefani widen her eyes at kinsley in a hurry matter.

"okay let's go!"

"thank you," kinsley whispered to caitlin who let her go first down the booth. caitlin smiled softly at her going in after her sitting at the end of the booth. all of the girls gathered around as coach took a picture of them. caitlin wrapped her arm around kinsleys waist and kinsley threw her arms around caitlin and then gabbie who was on her right.

the two girls leaned onto kinsley and they smiled widely as coach took the picture. "i'll send this to the groupchat." coach said letting out a laugh going back to her booth where she was sitting with lucy.

everyone else already seemed to know what to get so they started chatted with one another. kinsley picked up her menu and leaned back not knowing what she wanted. caitlin still had her arm wrapped around kinsley. the cheerleader leaned against her as she continued searching.

"i don't think i'll ever get used to it." madison said leaning forward and smiling at the couple that were close to each other. "i swear just yesterday kinsley was planning on throwing slime on you during practice." madison said making kinsley giggle sheepishly hiding her face with the menu.

"no way!" monika laughed and madison nodded her head laughing as well.

"it was that green slime that was hard to take off too!" madison added on. the two blondes now uncontrollably laughing. kinsley sinking down onto the booth. the basketball players and cheerleaders laughing at and with the blushing kinsley.

"i was still going to do it!" kinsley said defending herself not wanting them to think she got soft. she did get soft but they didn't need to know that. "but coach lucy caught me carrying the buckets!"

"wait, wait, was it the day we were you invited me to sit down with you on the bus?" caitlin asked. kinsley put her lips in a tight line and nodded her head. "kenny!"

"it was earlier that day!" kinsley said glancing back at her girlfriend who was second to bursting into laughter.

"oh yeah, it was going to be hilarious."

"you're not actually going to do that, are you?" stefani asked worriedly holding one of the buckets filled with slime.

"this is so cool! azzi always tells me that i can't pull pranks on paige." spencer said happily carrying another one of the buckets. it was after the coffee catch up between spencer and kinsley. sure kinsley was trying to be nicer with caitlin but a prank every once in a while isn't harmful.

"i just don't want to stop pulling these childish stuff just because i have stuff for caitlin. you know?" kinsley said coming inside with a bag of slime and dumping it inside of the bucket that spencer had.

the girls were practicing for the game it was still early so no one was really there other than the iowa woman's basketball team. kinsley thought this was the perfect opportunity since neither of the coaches have arrived.

"alright ready?" kinsley asked picking up one of the buckets.

"kinsley chung put those down this instant." kinsley groaned dropping the buckets and turning around to see coach lucy with a stern look. kinsley tried giving her an innocent smile but she only shook her head.

"slime isn't going to kill her." kinsley muttered putting the bucket down and going off with spencer to where paige was sitting.

"if you think about it clearly, it would have been hilarious." kinsley whispered to caitlin. the girls went on to telling more stories about other times between the two girls or just between all of them.

"oh yeah, kenny. you have the mind of a mastermind." caitlin said sarcastically nodding her head. kinsley scoffed playful pushing her shoulder and leaning back down. caitlin grinned throwing her arm around kinsley and bringing her closer to her.

those pranks that kinsley would always do to caitlin highlighted her entire practice. sometimes she even found herself waiting for kinsley to pull something. call her delusional but it was her way on knowing that kinsley always thought of her. even if it was for childish pranks.

it's what makes kinsley perfect for caitlin. that and so much more that she simply can't put into words because then she will turn into an old classic book that pours her entire heart with big words.

dinner was delicious. kenny was truly full after eating her shirmp alfredo. the plate was huge and kinsley had to ask caitlin to help her with the food. caitlin quickly shook her head also full by her own food.

stefani and madison volunteered to eat it causing kinsley to painfully hand them over to the plate. the two girls only took two bites each before giving up as well and left it there. kinsley was going to ask for a box so that she can take it for leftover.

the restaurant seem to have karaoke night because a girl duo was currently playing music that was making some people get up and dance. at some point everyone watched the girl duo that were fascinating to watch and to hear.

the one singing had long black hair and she was playing the guitar. there was one on the keyboard and she had blonde hair with curtain bangs. the songs seemed to be original because kinsley has never heard those songs before but she was going to make sure to check them out on social media if they did have music posted.

"oh my god look." caitlin whispered tapping her leg with kinsleys. kinsley frowned her eyebrows looking over to the small dance floor. two older women came hand in hand to the middle of the floor. the new song that they were playing was soft, slow, and magical.

one of the older women had full on grey hair while the other one had purple hair but they were both around the same age. 50 give or take. the women were wearing dresses, sundresses to be exact. the purple hair was wearing rings all over her fingers, she had bracelets only on one hand and a half a heart necklace.

the grey hair women only had one diamond ring on her ring finger. she had a watch and bracelets but not as much as the other women. her grey hair was up in two braids. she had the other half of the heart. the grey hair women put her hands on the purple hair women waist and tugged her close.

the purple hair women smiled and looked down shyly getting closer to the grey hair women. she wrapped her arms around the women and brought them even closer.

kinsley didn't even notice caitlin getting out of her seat until caitlin stuck her hand out towards kinsley. "come dance with me." caitlin said wiggling her fingers making kinsley giggle. the cheerleader shrugged off her coat. she slipped her hand on caitlin's and intertwined their fingers together.

everyone stared in awe as in the dance floor now stood four women. two older and two younger. one representing the old generation and the two younger representing the new generation. the younger one reflecting on the older one. but both of the generations showing you that love will always be love.

that love can last for ages just as much as it can only last for a short period of time. that sometimes love does last forever. that love can work in mysterious ways.

will those two older women be kinsleys and caitlin's future? kinsley sure hopes it is but whatever happens will happen. if caitlin isn't her forever than she doesn't think she will ever find her forever in anyone else that isn't caitlin. kinsley, at this exact moment made a reflection.

staring into caitlin's eyes and smiling lovely at her girlfriend. kinsley will make sure to always make them work. if for some reason they separate, kinsley will always find her way back to caitlin. why? because caitlin is her forever.
