     BEING back in minnesota is personal hell. the whole way on the bus from iowa to minnesota, kinsley didn't utter a single word. she kept quiet and to herself. kinsley sat herself far back into the bus and was isolating herself from everyone.

she used the two seat for her legs making caitlin sat on the other side of her. kinsley slept the entire way, having her airpods in and noise cancelation on as well. caitlin was worried shitless for kinsley and she felt helpless since she didn't know what to do to make her feel better.

when they finally arrived to their hotel kinsley was the first one to get off. rushing out of her seat, picking up her carryon and going outside to grab her luggage. coach lucy handed her cheerleads the key to their room. she wanted to be nice and get each one of them a single room to be alone. unlike coach for the woman's basketball team who told them they had to share.

kinsley said thank you to coach lucy who gave her a smile of understanding. kinsley then went to her hotel room leaving everyone behind and not muttering a single word. they only lived half an hour from her original town but it still didn't make her feel any better because in minnesota, everyone knows each other. literally.

kinsley turned on the tv letting cartoon network play in the background, she closed the blinds and locked her door. the cheerleader got inside of her bed and went straight to her phone where she has 40 text messages from caitlin.

kinsley does feel bad for shutting down caitlin and everyone. but it's something she can't help. she left minnesota for a reason and coming back and having to be in the place where kinsley escaped from for almost two weeks, kinsley didn't know how to handle it. especially since both teams like to go out a lot.

"kinsley! we're going to go explore at the mall of america!" stefani said knocking gently on her head. kinsley wanted to tell them that there was nothing good at the mall of america as people like to show it. it's a regular mall with the nickelodeon arcade and the food. but kinsley kept quiet only thinking about going to her hometown.

"okay, kinsley. i know you're struggling okay, i know and im sorry. im sorry that i don't know how to help but please kinsley, don't do this again. let us help you." stefani said pleading because she knows this all too well. kinsley did the same thing when her and ben broke up. she isolated herself. she stopped eating, she stopped having fun. in her mind it was school and home. she would either be sitting down on a chair at school or laying in her bed at home.

she didn't let anyone help her in any way. she locked her door. turned off her phone completely and didn't even go to her cheer practice. that went on for an entire month. until matt had enough of it, he broke down kinsley's door and forced her out of bed. kinsley cried telling him no but matt didn't budge. he took her out to mcdonald's and made her eat at least the fries and talk. only matt and kinsley.

stefani sighed deeply shaking her head as kate, monika, madison, gabbie and caitlin were standing in front of her. stefani wiped away her tears and looked at caitlin. "there's nothing we can do now." stefani said sliding down a pack of crackers with a note on it underneath the door. stefani walked away and the other girls followed sadly.

expect caitlin. she's watched enough criminal minds to know how to open a door without a key. caitlin took out a pin from her hair that was holding up her ponytail and a nail filler that she stole from stefani knowing that she might do this.

kinsley cuddled the blanket closer to her body and closed her eyes tightly. but everytime her did close her eyes all she can see if ben. laughing at her with her cousin right besides her. she could see her mom screaming at her or having a angry look on her face.

"up you go." kinsley didn't even have time to know who picked her up. caitlin scooped her up with everything and her blanket. kinsley glared at caitlin who gave her a smile.

"put me back down and leave me alone." kinsley muttered crossing her arms and letting the blanket drop. kinsley looked away from caitlin. the tall athlete player giving her a kiss on the cheek and heading inside of the bathroom.

"i'm not putting you back down and neither am i leaving you alone. you are going to take a shower because you've been non stop from practice and travel and i know you haven't had time to do anything. i am not going to let you isolate yourself because now you have someone who will be with you." caitlin said setting kinsley down on the closed toilet. "if you want to have a quiet today, we'll have a quiet day but don't shut me out."

kinsley didn't look at caitlin in the eye. caitlin turned on the shower and now they just had to wait for the water to get in its right temperature. kinsley still didn't look at her at her girlfriend even when caitlin kneeled down in front of her.

"let me help you, kenny." caitlin pleaded hooking her fingers through kinsley's shirt. kinsley nodded her heart shortly still not looking at her. caitlin lifted up her shirt leaving kinsley in only her bra.

"i'm scared." kinsley whispered her long hair blocking her face. caitlin brought her fingers up and slid the pieces of kinsley's hair behind her ear. caitlin brought up both of her large hands to her face. "what if they try to do something to me?" kinsley whispered asked her lips quivering.

"who baby?" caitlin asked frowning her eyebrows and rubbing her thumb against kinsley's cheek.

"my mom, ben or cece. what if i'm out with you guys and they spot me and try something?" kinsley asked finally looking at caitlin. kinsley breathed out a laugh and wiped away the tears and slipped her eyes. "i sound pathetic being afraid of people like them."

"you're not pathetic, kinsley. you're not. they made your life a living hell and i may not know everything that they did to you, but you're not pathetic for being afraid." caitlin said leaning forward and planting a small kiss on kinsley's cheek.

"can we have a stay in bed date?" kinsley asked wanting to change the subject. her head dropping back down. caitlin nodded her head. kinsley took off her bra causing caitlin to immediately look away. kinsley stood up from the toilet and went to take everything else off. when kinsley turned to look at caitlin.

the tall athlete had her front body pressed against the wall and her hands to her eyes. "can you help me shower?" kinsley asked nervously. caitlin turned around still with her eyes closed causing kinsley to roll her eyes. "join me in the shower caitlin."

the first game turned out to be one of the most rollercoasters game that kinsley has ever watched. stefani was the lead and kinsley asked coach if she can be in the back. coach lucy said yeah and she was on her own lookout in the stands.

caitlin ran over to kinsley the second that the last buzzer went off. kinsley smiled as much as she can with all of the energy that she had left. caitlin lifted her off the ground and twirled her around. kinsley giggled wrapping her arms around caitlin.

"i'm so proud of you." kinsley whispered digging her head on caitlin's shoulder. caitlin put her down on the floor but never let her arms drop from kinsley. the other girls went over to caitlin congratulating her.

kinsley wrapped her arms around caitlin's waist and the side of her head was on caitlin's chest. kinsley tried to keep her smile on but it only slipped away the more she forced it. caitlin noticed this and decided it was time for them to go.

"we're meeting up later for a team dinner." kate said.

"where?" caitlin asked rubbing her hand up and down kinsley's arm.

"don't know. monika is going to choose after she's done with her interview." kate said making the girlfriends nod their heads. they said their goodbyes before officially leaving the arena. on the ride home kinsley put on cardi b.

kinsley poured her whole heart out singing, thru your phone. caitlin put her hand on kinsley's leg rubbing her thumb to ease her. since kinsley was driving caitlin didn't want kinsley to make an impulsive decision. kinsley let out a giggle in the middle of the song.

"okay harley quinn," caitlin said with a light laugh as kinsley pulled up to the hotel parking lot. "you wanna go to the dinner tonight?"

kinsley thought about it. she can either stay in her hotel room, continue being scared that she'll bump into someone she used to know and mess up her mental health or she can go out and let everyone know that they don't have a single say in her life anymore and show them that she doesn't need them in her life.

she didn't need them then and especially not now.
