CHAPTER ONE
season starts again !

KINSLEY knew who she was from the very beginning. since the start of only three years old she knew what she wanted. and her parents could see it. her mom wasn't very supportive on the fact that her daughter prefers to dance than to become a doctor.

but no matter how much her mom lets her down, she has one true supporter. her dad. he would always take her to her dance practice. he would buy her the clothes that she needs for dance. he would pay for the dance classes. when kinsley got older and starting going to games to cheer, who was always on the benches cheering for his daughter as he watched her cheer? micheal chung, that's who.

kinsley loves her dad with her entire heart. sometimes she wishes that her dad would get another house where it's only her and him living inside of it. positive vibes, good and healthy father and daughter relationship. not the toxic environment with her mom.

"okay, big news and huge changes so listen up!" the head cheer coach, lucy said clapping his hands together catching the attention of her cheer team.

"you're pregnant!" skylar, a brunette girl shouted. lucy glared at the younger girl. "what, you have been texting the groupchat constantly about this new man of yours."

lucy, despite her being in her early thirties, she got fairly along with her cheer squad. they had a groupchat and just like in real life, there was never a dull moment. they treated lucy like a coach but also like a friend. plus, lucy gives the best advice when it comes on friendships and relationships. she's like the wise older sister.

"isn't his name matt? who name their kid matt," stefani said before turning her head slowly over to her twin brother. the two reflecting heavily on each other. their blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. "no offense, matt."

matt is one of the two boys on the cheerleading team. besides him is noah. anyone who would look at josh would think he's a football player. he's tall, build with nothing but heavy muscles all over his body. his long curly hair almost touching his neck. his tan skin color that makes him look magical. every girl falls in love with him. unfortunate for them, noah goes for the other team.

"i'm not pregnant," lucy scoffed hugging the clipboard to her chest. "do i look pregnant?"

"no, but you're glowing." stefani said smiling at lucy.

"really thank you." lucy said smiling as well and shrugging her shoulders. everyone laughed at coach who blushed and flipped her braids over her shoulders. "anyways, the news is that we're going to be going to all of the girls basketball games. why? because i'm tired of the boys losing. seriously. i'm tired."

"the whole season?" kinsley asked groaning a little bit.

"yup! so extra hard work because we need to support our girls." lucy said. she doesn't know what happened during kinsley's first year because she only started coaching for kinsley's sophomore year. but everyone else did know.

"kin is about to go see her best friend." stefani said throwing her arm around kinsley. "what's her name again? catherine. no. cat? no. c-c—"

"caitlin." kinsley grumbled throwing her head back.

"are you guys exes?" lucy asked pulling out the clipboard in front of her and writing stuff down. everyone laughed at that including kinsley.

"god no. i just have a strong dislike towards her." kinsley said shaking her head.

"why?" lucy asked.

"caitlin threw a ball straight towards kinsley's head and never said sorry. since then they've had this rivalry against each other." matt said and lucy's eyebrows shot up and hummed.

"sounds like the beginning of a love story." lucy said sarcastically.

"she's living the dream!" stefani said shaking kinsley's shoulders. stefani and kinsley have been best friend ever since freshman year. stefani had his bubbly personally that can turn sarcastic and mean at times. not to mention the big tease that stefani is.

her worst nightmare was about to beginning. or is it a dream?

if you don't get good grades, pass test and get good attendance. you don't practice. if you don't practice you don't go to the games and cheer. if kinsley can't cheer she will honestly lose her mind. the first game was only two weeks away and between getting her homework done and practice, kinsley was beyond drained.

"this paper is eating my alive." stefani groaned hitting her computer multiple times.

"try studying for a math test that you have early in the morning on a friday." madison said. the other girl in their friend group. madison isn't in the cheer team. she's in the basketball team and just like the cheerleaders, she's pressured on doing good academically to be able to play.

"i brought coffee and pizza." matt said bursting inside of stefani's and kinsley's apartment. the two girls didn't want to live inside of the dorm room anymore for various reasons. one of them is wanting their own free full space. the apartment wasn't big but it was decent enough. and it was at a walking distance to school.

"hey kins, why are you drawing two stick figures," stefani said as she was sitting right besides her and tilting her head to the side, "but one is on the ground with a very dark spot in the middle and a basketball on the right stick hand and the one standing up is holding a pom pom."

"oh lord." madison burst laughing putting her hands over her mouth as she walking over to the island where matt has placed the four pizza boxes and the drinks.

"what?" stefani asked confused.

kinsley wasn't really paying attention since she had her headphones in and she had the noise cancellation on. kinsley continued her drawing by adding a ponytail on the one standing up and drawing x as eyes on the one on the ground. she then put her signature on the bottom of the drawing and put it inside of a square.

kinsley took off her headphones and sighed deeply glancing at her friends who were already looking at her. "um, what." kinsley said looking between stefani, matt and madison.

"it's funny how much you 'hate' caitlin but you go out of your way from studying to draw a stick figure portrait of you two." madison said shoving the cheese pizza inside of her mouth and raising an eyebrow at her friend. she probably isn't supposed to be eating pizza but she really couldn't care less.

"i do hate her there is no reason to put quotation marks around the word." kinsley mumbled looking down at her proud art work. stefani sneakily took a picture of it and send it to madison. and the groupchat.

"what are you even supposed to be doing?" matt asked grabbing two small white plate and placing two pizzas on it and walked over to the couch to give it to his sister and kinsley.

"i'm supposed to be writing a rough drafts about something romantic for english." kinsley said adding a dramatic effect to the romantic word. "but he wants us to write bulletin points about romantic things we've experienced. i highly doubt cheating on you is romantic."

everyone fell quiet as kinsley said the last part. they always seemed to be a bit more caution about the subject around her. but kinsley always finds way to use it as a joke. it's the way she copes unless she wants to cry her eyes out and go depressed. she already did go through that.

"um, well, i-i don't know-you know maybe— yeah i don't know." madison said shaking her head and turning around on the stool to face the other way.

"it's okay to laugh guys it happened a year ago." kinsley said letting out a laugh while turning the page and restarting the entire title and everything. no one laughed. "okay, don't laugh."
