Chapter 6 FOCUS

"Sorry, didn't catch your question?!"

In the café, there was an unusual buzz, the room filled with voices, some speaking very quickly. I clarified with the girl what exactly she wanted to order, and she started asking me when 'she' would arrive. Only then did I realize they all came to see her. I kindly replied with what strength I had left, "She's already left. I'm sorry you missed her."

The girl was surprised, searching for someone with her eyes, then quickly, very quickly, started speaking on the phone. As soon as she pocketed her phone, the other visitors started glancing at each other, getting up, and leaving one by one. It took them just 3 minutes to make the café quiet and spacious again. I walked around the room, inspecting all the tables, and at that moment, I just wanted to enjoy the silence.

"Are you closed?" A young guy hesitantly entered the café, looked around, and turned to me again, "Are you already closed? I saw everyone leaving and...".

I didn't let him finish, "Yes, that's correct. Everyone left, but we're not closed. These are fans of a popular girl. They were waiting for her. I don't know why they thought she would be here today. I didn't have that information. What can I get for you?"

"And can you make a signature drink?"

"I can. What kind of beans? Choose from the list. What milk?"

"I like coffee when its bitterness isn't noticeable."

"Have a seat. I'll prepare it."

Usually, our café rarely gets new visitors. Usually, I see the same people. This day will definitely be remembered for a long time.

Focus, Ava, you can handle this. What if this guy is a coffee critic? Stop, all thoughts aside. Just make the coffee. Anyways, who cares! Let him give us just one star!

"What are you doing," asked a teenage girl in a beanie. She came here alone and didn't look aggressive like those who left. She looked curious watching at my maneuvers with the coffee machine.

"Well, I chose Ethiopia, Gesha Geisha – coffee beans of a rare and valuable variety, grown in Ethiopian soil. It has high quality and unique characteristics. The coffee plantations of the Gesha coffee region are located in the southern part of Ethiopia at an altitude of 1400 – 1800 meters above sea level. The drink, made from the beans of this variety of Arabica, has an easily readable bouquet and a smooth acidity. It is characterized by a low level of bitterness and an unforgettable aroma. The coffee has a delicate fruity-chocolate taste with notes of peach, mango, and red berries, accompanied by a long aftertaste."

I immediately recalled the description card of the bean that I memorized for the barista championship. From the expression on the guy's face, I'll be able to tell if he liked it or not. The girl looked impressed. I looked around understanding that everyone was listening to me.
