Chapter Fourteen: Shut Up and Dance

The next day, Jamie and Clara still stick around in Toronto because they know tomorrow is Monday when they leave before dawn. Once, Jamie is looking for something in the market while Clara is standing there and waiting for him while she is checking out something. Then, Roxanne comes in and surprises her.

Clara: Roxanne? What are you doing out there? How do you get in here?

Roxanne: I've got some company, you guys. Where's Jamie?

Clara: He's gonna get something; he'll be there shortly.

Billy: *runs inside the market and walks over to them*

Clara: Why are you guys out in the town?

Billy: Roxanne, I thought Mona said we'd get paid here.

Roxanne: I don't know.

Clara: I don't wanna hear that drama for that nonsense.

Roxanne: We're out here with the new car. That's mine.

Clara: Mmm. Your car smells like fresh after I come outside.

Roxanne: *hearing*

Billy: Listen, we aren't hiding from anything. We came by to see y'all.

Clara: I understand all of you squads can see us; we're returning to school today. I know I have a class tomorrow to take care of.

Jamie: What's up, guys?

Roxanne: Well...Jamie, Jamie, Jamie.

Clara: OK, no love connection. Fine, if you would like to have fun out there, it would be one hour so you don't have to miss class.

Roxanne: It doesn't matter what the professor says; I'm out for a road trip.

Clara: I'm trying to keep in touch with you.

Later that night in South Carolina, Irwin decides to go hiking for the night when he isn't afraid of the dark; he starts jogging while the streetlight is still on. The night gets a little silent; nobody else is out there except Irwin; he jogs for half an hour. When he stops jogging, he gives himself some air while the outside turns into the wind and clears his sweat off.

Irwin gets back in the car and drives to Lizard's Thicket Restaurant to get something to eat; before he goes inside, he goes to the restroom and starts to get changed until he comes out of the restroom.

He was going to order the food before he saw Elena come; when he knew she was coming, Elena saw him while walking up to him and sitting down at the table.

Irwin: Just two of us.

Elena: I know—just us.

Irwin: Listen, I don't think it's such a good idea that we are going on vacation. I know you're not mad at me, but I hoped you would feel a little better.

Elena: I know. Whenever you've got something going on a little lately, I don't wanna mess it up with you or mess myself up anything throughout the semester.

Irwin: What do you mean?

Elena: I'm struggling.

Irwin: Elena, so do I? These assignments were driving us nuts.

Elena: Yeah. I hope you will help me.

Irwin: *sighs* I'm here.

Elena: Let's eat before it closes for the next two hours.

While both of them wait for food to come, they sit at the table. The song plays a good choice for Irwin's favorite song when he feels the beat in his head and starts getting up from the chair during Elena's reaction.

She smiled at him when Irwin was dancing around to teach her how to dance, and he opened his hand to give it to her. He asked her to dance, and she agreed. Then, she grabbed his hand to begin dancing with Irwin.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, they got the message from the same professor that they would be out in class tomorrow cause nobody else had a class tomorrow; they decided to leave the city at midnight on the road to South Carolina over the next 12 hours. Jamie and Clara sat on top of the bench with popcorn and drink as they watched Billy, Mona, Roxanne, Cameron, Jacky, and Ana dancing together while playing loud music in the background at the park with the others. Jamie and Clara don't feel like dancing; they enjoy themselves by being quiet.

Jamie: Don't you dance a bit?

Clara: Not really.

Jamie: I mean...tiny dance move, what have you got from the past?

Clara: I can't remember it. Anyone knows what I'm dancing.

Jamie: You couldn't go through with that, I'm telling you. I don't wanna make you embarrassed or anything.

Clara: I got you something.

Jamie: What is it? Because I don't give a fuck right now.

Clara: *taking out the cigarette and lighter from her coat pocket and shows him*

Jamie: Holy. Shit.

Clara and Jamie are doing their joint together while chilling on the bench and enjoying their friend's dancing; they are trying not to get weirder and weirder when they keep smoking, at least.

Meanwhile, in the restaurant, some of the people are enjoying Irwin and Elena's slow dancing while they've been waiting for the food. As they humble and joyful themselves.
