Chapter Twenty-Six: I Wanna Be Down

*January 2026 - Georgia State University*

Jason relaxed on the bed as he removed the cast wrap from his leg because he felt like it would be recovered this time. He threw the trash can and lay back in bed to continue reading the book. Chloe knocked on the door and opened it after Jason called her to come over. Jason then unlocked the door until she got there.

Chloe: How do you feel?

Jason: Better.

Chloe: I can see you throw it away. *sits on the bed*

Jason: *looks at her*

Chloe: I called Blue and the rest of them to check up on you. I'm only here to check on you.

Jason: I had a memory, but I couldn't see the face who was hitting me in the car. As long as I'm in the hospital, I can't remember a thing.

Chloe: *hearing*

Jason: *looks at her* Chloe?

Chloe: *sighs and covers her hands up and down on her face*

Jason: Take your time, Chloe. I'll wait.

Chloe: I know the person who was hitting on you; this jerk's name is Tee—he is from Chicago. Oscar and I have been working with him from the past since high school; we were putting really good sources throughout the product, and all of a sudden, he turned on us after we graduated from high school. While we were on the way to Atlanta for school, we got our rental apartment while we had a dorm. We stayed in the rental apartment for Thanksgiving and winter vacation; we lied to our parents that we stayed in Georgia, spending time with our friends. As soon as we left this disgusting apartment, we moved back to Chicago and bought a nice house. The last time we saw Tee after we kicked him out the next day, he was sure as hell he was staying in Chicago.

Jason: So you worked with Tee long ago before he came after you while I was getting hit like that?

Chloe: I should've got to tell y'all.

Jason: You know what, I'm not getting mad. He's gonna get his.

Chloe: *nods softly*

Yulissa, Simon, and Blue were hanging out in the restaurant and having lunch during a class break. They had a next class sooner rather than later. Jason can walk normally. After his leg recovers, he peeks out the window to look at them and walks away.

Jason left the hospital after returning the crutches to the doctor. He returned to his car and drove back to the campus, where he parked in the garage. He came outside to chill until Tabby walked out of the building and over to him.

Tabby: Hey, J. How are you feeling?

Jason: *sighs* I'm better. I am getting more stuff to do. Are you in?

Tabby: Mhm. *nods softly*

Jason: In times like these, we will have to push ourselves to the limit when we create another product to give each other as a bond.

Tabby: Do you realize when Blue did his thing on a different campus?

Jason: Yeah. We'd had to go through different ways besides the campus.

Later in the afternoon, Tabby is in the cafe counting up the money after she works with them for drugs cause she gets an extra exchange to give out the drug, which means she has a lot. She confronted several people around the street. Blue continues to make more money on the campus of Georgia State; he puts the cocaine on the plastic to bring out as a gift, but not so many of them. Blue takes some of them when he doesn't want anyone to get drugged a lot. Jason drove around in the neighborhood until he parked right next to the local house, confronting the gang for giving their drugs with two cocaine bricks.

Jason: My friends and I were working so hard; they couldn't give a shit as always. It's on you, man. *looks at one of the gang walks back in the car and drives away*

Chloe and Oscar: *at the park to do the same thing to give out the drug and sees Mustang car parked*

Oscar: He's on his way.

Jason: *arriving in the park and walking over to them* Os, how do you make the cocaine-like that?

Chloe: Hold on, Oscar. Tee just planned on this. He shows us how we do it; that's easy.

Jason: But I didn't know. I would have thought that Oscar was the one who was doing it; that is dope.

Oscar: Of course it is. We had to keep our eyes out and look out without trouble, or even the cops warned us.

Chloe: Of course.  Of course, dirty cops will keep an eye on us. They just skipped the lane.

Jason: Tee is very proud of y'all before he hurt both of your feelings.

Oscar: Tee has been a college student while we are in high school since we were 16.

Jason: *hearing*

Chloe: It's cool; that was the old days.

The next day, Chloe and Lili spent time outside on campus, waiting with Lydia while Lili held the cocaine brick hiding from the jacket; they'd chilled out in the city and sat on the steps behind the building.

Lili: God, what the hell is she taking so long?

Chloe: She's going through something first. She'll be here; it's fine.

Lili: *hearing*

Chloe: Here she is, she pulled over.

Lili: *sees the car pulled over while getting up and takes out the brick*

Lydia: *gets out of the car* Where's the rest?

Lili: *gives it to her*

Chloe: It's all works for you, girl. Not gonna tell you.

Lydia: Next time, you need to self-defense. It looks like you were scared or being afraid.

Lili: I'm good.

Lydia: You've got to work harder and get the fuck up out of there.

Chloe: She's right, Lili.

Lili: *looks at Chloe*

Chloe: She's smart. We've been wise, all three of us right now.

Lydia: I could call that.

Luke finished the humanities class of the day with Professor Floyd. After watching the students leave, he went to the professor to discuss the assignment, which was getting a little complicated.

Luke: Professor Floyd, sorry to be bothered.

Floyd: It's OK.

Luke: I've been struggling a lot; I couldn't prepare for an assignment. I've read the book but can't handle it, my brain. I need some help.

Floyd: I've heard about your feelings, and I'm sorry. I know you've been a good student since you came here. I am not that type of working complex; I type working harder, way harder.

Luke: *hearing*

Floyd: I'm here to help; go to the tutoring around the corner in the library.

Luke: I haven't done with the tutoring in my life. That's the reason before I turned, terrible things happened. *walks away*

Sam visits the museum and hangs around, looking at each frame while strolling; he has a camera around his neck when he takes photos of good size without flashing. While he goes all over the art galleries, a woman named Maria recognizes the camera that Sam is taking pictures with. She seems to think taking any photos with a flash in the museum isn't allowed.

Maria: Sorry for the excuse. Did you know you were not allowed to take pictures with your camera?

Sam: It's not; there is nothing on the flash.

Maria: I'll just make sure.

Sam: You look good today anyway, ma'am.

Maria: Thanks. Take it easy, now. *walks away*

Sam: *continues to look at the galleries*
