Chapter Twenty-Eight: Altar
*One week later - February 2026*
Jason called the gang to meet in the dorm, which is exactly what Jason had a bigger plan in Chicago; he drew the map on several spots to go undercover as they hunted Sandra and Titus while searching for Oscar.
Jason: Listen up, we're heading the road on Monday; I know it's been rough for a week. I've gotta couple of plans when we landed in Chicago. Things like that, we're heading to the club tonight and chilling out.
Blue: I'm down with it.
Jason: Chloe?
Chloe: As long as my brother approaches Chicago, he's out there. But that's OK; I can handle it, to be sure. I'll watch you all because we're back in business. Get everything that we earned back in the day right. Enforcers.
Blue: Jason knows; he named our crew when he created it. We're still busy throughout the assignment to get better grades.
Sam: Sounds about right.
Kacy: What is the next step tonight again?
Chloe: Kacy, you don't remember it quickly?
Kacy: I totally forgot.
Chloe: *putting on her headlock playfully*
Kacy: *grunts and smiles softly*
Tabby: Listen, everything we worked for our thing, we have respect different. Jason has come up with the plan to kill both of them as well; they've risen in each city to take over and hurt everybody else, ruining somebody else's career.
Simon: Or even kids, too.
Jason: Sometimes, they will not be miserable; every citizen takes care of responsibilities to save up their lives.
All: *hearing*
Jason: Tonight at 8pm, nightclub. Two days before we hit the road. Except for the cars. Sandra, Titus, and anyone else who noticed.
Later that night, they enjoyed themselves together in the nightclub. Chloe grabbed a cup of coffee and confronted one person to keep settled in the club. Lili also watched them slowly until she walked over to Chloe.
Lili: Chloe, how are you feeling?
Chloe: Good. Nothing is going well with the crowd; it's a slow-dance couple.
Lili: Let them be.
Chloe: I'll make a bet on it. We don't know shit.
Lili: They show us nothing, like hell.
Chloe: We prefer to be more innovative. We have some ideas that are part of the plan in Chicago.
Lili: *hearing*
Chloe: Giving a chance to go home afterward, we did everything.
DJ: Alright, alright, alright. We'd have another big thing coming; without further adieu, we are giving up with two guests, Jason and Tabby.
Lili: *looks at Chloe*
Chloe: What?

Tabby: *starts singing* When I do it on my own, no one does it better
Came in this world alone, we're separate not together
So please, don't take it personal when I'm just being me
'Cause who else is gonna be?
Jason: *starts singing* I'm trying to take over the world, I'm not about to slow up
If you can't keep the pace, then you're just playing catch-up
Again, don't take it personal, 'cause I'm just doing me
The way it's supposed to be, yeah
Jason and Tabby: Say what you wanna say, I get it
Ain't no sucker can't hurt my feelings
But it's cool, please really do you
But I'ma get this money, 'cause I stay on my grind
Steady stacking paper-paper, work for every dime
But whenever you see me, know it's all love, all love
Holler when you see me, 'cause it's all love, all love
Jason: Just feel like I'm about to blow, ain't got time for games
This ain't no flex, this ain't for show
Jason and Tabby: Just trying to make these dollars-dollars
Chill, you don't want these problems-problems
Focused on my money matters
Tabby: Don't take it personal, that's just the way it goes
Jason and Tabby: Say what you wanna say, I get it
Ain't no sucker can't hurt my feelings
But it's cool, please really do you
But I'ma get this money, 'cause I stay on my grind
Steady stacking paper-paper, work for every dime
But whenever you see me, know it's all love, all love
Holler when you see me, 'cause it's all love, all love *finished singing*
All: *cheering*
Jason and Tabby left the stage and continued walking together while the gang looked for them to check how it went.
Kacy: Bam! I didn't know you were guys singing too well.
Tabby: You should've thought you were recognized when I was singing, maybe upside down.
Luke: I ain't gonna lie, that was tight.
Jason: We both did a good job. Alright, y'all, enough for the night. We hope every single one of you does not get drunk and stays focused for the rest of the night until the morning.
The next day, Sam and Kacy carried hotdogs. They walked to the park to look for a bench and sat together, eating the hotdogs. Jason, coming out of the campus, held the bag and tried to reach the garage until he saw Professor Floyd once he stepped up to him.
Jason: Professor Floyd?
Floyd: Genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.
Jason: I can count on that. I will go back to your classroom as soon as I can. Floyd, I know it's been rough for me; I had something going on in my life, going out of town for a few days. I reached out to your email to get done over my assignment. But I do feel this way.
Floyd: It seems fair you did a good job when you did that after you screenshot to the paper.
Jason: I'm not making anything illegal; I took the picture and wrote the questions down. If my assignment does succeed.
Meanwhile, Sandra is in the car alone, parking somewhere on the campus, and can't be seen or recognized by others. She is spying on Jason; he is confronting the professor, and she feels angry softly until she drives away slowly.
Simon: *writing the assignment at the cafeteria to take enough time by tomorrow*
Everett and Bailey: *sitting at the table with him*
Simon: *still focused on work*
Bailey: Nice heated in the cafeteria when it's cold out there.
Simon: To predict if I can rise over my grades. That's the way it is.
Everett: I'm only here to advise; I'll get to this point.
Simon: Point by what?
Everett: Like what you said. Don't let yourself fall out when you hang out with your friends.
Bailey: *looks at Simon*
Simon: I know both of y'all worried about me; I'll be fine if I'm dead in the city.
Everett and Bailey: *looks at him*
Simon: I'll try to be cool to make sure. *continues writing*
Bailey: We were giving ourselves attention.
Everett: Bailey, we just did.
Bailey: *looks at him*
Later that afternoon, Chloe and Cadoc chilled in the car for a second, preparing to go to work, putting on the mask before Cadoc reloaded the gun, whether Chloe felt like she wanted to get more strategies to make a move.
Chloe: I hope, but it's gonna work with this.
Cadoc: A hundred percent, it's gonna work immediately.
Chloe: I would've gone out publicly to do some terrible things without anyone surrounding me.
Cadoc: You must prove yourself when you have to, without going to jail, being broke, or doing anything else.
Chloe: *reloads the gun* Alright then. Let's get to work.
Three young adult boys are chilling in the local house. One of the boys is playing video games, counting up the money, and the other is playing the game with him.
Boy 1: *playing video game*
Boy 2: Ooohhh! I'm whooping your ass.
Boy 1: I'm not even fully concentrated, dog.
Boy 3: Yo! Turn that shit down, I'm losing count over here.
Boy 1: Man, when I get to be a money counter, dog? *still playing while hearing knocking on the door and putting the PlayStation controller down and getting to the door while walking past to Boy 3* Man, nobody appreciates shit.
Boy 3: If I got to start this count over, everybody getting fucking fired.
Cadoc: *kicks the door and hits Boy 1 with the gun*
Boy 3: *sees them*
Cadoc: Get the fuck down!
Chloe: *points the gun at Boy 3*
Cadoc: Where'd the drugs at? *takes the money away from the table*
Chloe: Speak!
Boy 3: *watches them*
Cadoc: *keeps going* Where's the rest of the shit at?
Boy 3: *keeps watching them*
Cadoc: *reloads the gun and points at him* I'll peel your whole shit back right now. This ain't the hill to die on.
Boy 3: *points to the closet*
Chloe: *opens the closet and grabs the bag* I got everything.
Cadoc: Thanks for the tip, motherfucker. *leaving with Chloe*
*Later*
Jason arrives at the church to spend time for the worship cause every Sunday; most people join together and visit the church; the pastor does the Bible daily and sings along for a day.
Jason: *looking at all the people singing along and finds a seat*
Pastor: Please sit.
All: *sits down*
Pastor: People will turn away from the truth, they will grow weary of the plain gospel of Christ, they will be greedy of fables, and take pleasure in them. People do so when they will not endure that preaching which is searching, plain, and to the purpose. Those who love souls must be ever watchful, must venture and bear all the painful effects of their faithfulness, and take all opportunities of making known the pure gospel. The blood of the martyrs, though not a sacrifice of atonement, yet was a sacrifice of acknowledgment to the grace of God and his truth. Death to a good man, is his release from the imprisonment of this world, and his departure to the enjoyments of another world. As a Christian, and a minister, Paul had kept the faith, kept the doctrines of the gospel. What comfort will it afford, to be able to speak in this manner toward the end of our days! The crown of believers is a crown of righteousness, purchased by the righteousness of Christ. Believers have it not at present, yet it is sure, for it is laid up for them. The believer, amidst poverty, pain, sickness, and the agonies of death, may rejoice; but if the duties of a man's place and station are neglected, his evidence of interest in Christ will be darkened, and uncertainty and distress may be expected to cloud and harass his last hours. The love of this world, is often the cause of turning back from the truths and ways of Jesus Christ. Paul was guided by Divine inspiration, yet he would have his books. As long as we live, we must still learn. The apostles did not neglect human means, in seeking the necessaries of life, or their own instruction. Let us thank the Divine goodness in having given us so many writings of wise and pious men in all ages; and let us seek that by reading them our profiting may appear to all. There is as much danger from false brethren, as from open enemies. It is dangerous having to do with those who would be enemies to such a man as Paul. The Christians at Rome were forward to meet him, but when there seemed to be a danger of suffering with him, then all forsook him. God might justly be angry with them, but he prays God to forgive them. The apostle was delivered out of the mouth of the lion, that is, of Nero, or some of his judges. If the Lord stands by us, he will strengthen us in difficulties and dangers, and his presence will more than supply every one's absence. We need no more to make us happy, than to have the Lord Jesus Christ with our spirits; for in him all spiritual blessings are summed up. It is the best prayer we can offer for our friends, that the Lord Jesus Christ may be with their spirits, to sanctify and save them, and at last to receive them to himself. Many who believed as Paul, are now before the throne, giving glory to their Lord: may we be followers of them.
After the service, Jason watched the whole congregation leave. He got up and walked closely to the stage, bending his knees, and started praying. He flashed back to his family doing the same thing, and he daydreamed about raising his hand from outside.
Meanwhile, Maria got killed at home; Sandra headed back in the car like a boss and put the gun away until she drove away.
*the next day*
Jason: *leaving the building with the bag and seeing Blue and Luke* It took you guys waiting a little early.
Luke: Totally. I woke up and took a run, I tried to go back to sleep, and I was fucked up.
Jason: What do you think you couldn't jog when you would take a rest until the morning?
Luke: Because we're a strong business. We are pushing to the limit.
Jason: *hearing*
Luke: I couldn't lose my strength either if I become weak.
Jason: Don't worry, I hear you.
Blue: Yo, I'm excited about Chicago again. I would do the same damn thing to check out one of these folks who recognized every time I come into each store for acquaintance.
Jason: You can go for it as long as you remember it. We still have more plans, though.
Chloe: What do you say about more plans? I can hear about the significant development going on. *went outside with Kacy and Sam*
Jason: Listen, fellas. Tabby and Lili were already in the Uber on the way to the airport, waiting for us. Terminal C. KJ and Lydia will hit the road to Chicago without Cadoc; he had to stay in to get more impressive with his family.
Chloe: Bottom line is this, we are still taking their asses down and saving my brother, stopping all of his brainwashing.
Jason: Chloe, as long as we take through the whole plan.
Blue: My driver is here. *sees Uber car and gets in the car*
Luke: Sam, are you riding with us?
Sam: I'll see y'all at the airport. *joins with Blue and Luke in Uber car*
Simon: *comes out of the building with Chad and walks over to them*
Jason: *looks at Kacy and Chloe*
Kacy: Welp, it's five of us. We need a van to get there.
Jason and the gang arrived at the airport. After paying online for their tickets, they began to walk inside to get a ticket. They went to the escalator to scan everything on their stuff. After that, they were on their way to the plane train, waiting and quickly confronting each other. As soon as the train approached, they got in and made their way to Terminal C.
Jason: *chilling on the train*
Kacy: *while chilling, looking at someone who was wearing the black hoodie with three guys who couldn't recognize*
Luke: *checking on the phone with Simon*
Blue: *looking at the window while chilling on the train*
Tabby: *looks around*
Kacy: How many do we stop? *looks at Chloe*
Chloe: *looking at the terminal screen* Two.
Kacy: *kept looking at the hoodies while seeing a couple of people get off the train to the next terminal and another one who got in*
Jason and the gang: *feeling the train move once again*
Hoodies: *stands up*
Tabby: *looking at them and thinking about more enemies* Guys?
All: *hearing and looks at Tabby while noticing hoodies standing up and watching them getting off the train*
Everybody felt lucky they didn't get caught by the hoodies; the three hoodies were the regular people who got off before the next terminal for C. They got off the plane train since the plane was about to take off for the next hour to Chicago.
