Chapter Ten: Something Just Like This
On the same night, Jason lets them out of his room to give them some space except for Tabby. He's lying down on the bed while standing on his feet. He seems worried about his mother because next week is her birthday until he drops tears before Tabby comes to check up on him and sits next to him.
Tabby: Are you OK?
Jason: Next week is my mom's birthday. It makes me feel like I'm getting sick to my fucking stomach.
Tabby: *hearing*
Jason: Everybody knows what my mom is, they know my mom so well. I should killed that cop the way he did to my mom.
Tabby: Listen, I'm upset too, it's OK. They're already rotten in jail.
Jason: *hearing*
Tabby: You deserved to live, don't worry about your past just forget it. You're not in Oregon. This is Georgia.
Jason: *hearing*
Tabby: You have to let it go.
Jason: *hearing*
Tabby: *holding his hand and looks at it*
Jason: *feels it while lying down*
The next day, Jason and Blue get off the bus when they are making a way to take a driver's test. However, they were studying right after class every day, and Jason still getting a memory to get to know the answers to the driving test. While confronting each other and walking to the driving test place.
Blue: Yo, are you coming with us to Chicago? Chloe is about to pay for us online later on.
Jason: Nah. I've got something on my mind for a moment.
Blue: If you change your mind, let me know. Two curly brothers going to their hometown in Chicago to spend time for Spring Break. This place is big as hell and it gets dirty.
Jason: Shit.
Blue: Pretty much as you get your life better soon 'cause I do not have it. Once I finish this test, maybe I can get a new car, fast.
Jason: Maybe, maybe is longer than waiting it could be possibly.
After the boys took the driver's test, Jason went to the bus station and headed to Savannah to stay in the place for a couple of days to calm down. He had a few stuff in his bag once he was prepared to go whilst the gang was going to Chicago for Spring Break. Once he took out the earbuds to listen to the music when the bus just pulled off for the destination. He texted Lili on the phone to ensure he was on the way later.
Later this afternoon, he arrived at another bus station in Savannah. Jason left the building at the station when he started walking around that he was going to his grandparents' house, he had to meet up with Lili first cause she was gonna tell him very important. He was texting that he was getting close until Lili wrote him back in the message.
Jason: *reads the message and stops walking for a minute*
Lili: *texts* Emergency alert.
Jason: *looks around and sees nobody out here or no cars on the road before he tries to text her back until he gets shot in his right leg and falls to the ground*
Shooter: *still holding the target at Jason from far away behind the tree right next to the street*
Jason: *screams in pain while sliding under the car and hearing another gunshot* FUCK! *breathing heavily and hearing once again*
Jason crawled off from under the car to make sure he couldn't hear the gunshot anymore while he was checking on his right leg when he tried to move, he couldn't because his leg hurt quickly until he lay on the ground and closed his eyes slowly. Somebody just picked him up after he was passed out and taken to the house when Jason spent in there for the next few hours until the night started.
Later that night, Jason was in bed he opened his eyes slowly and saw Oscar playing video games with Lili he had no idea what was going on because he was still in Lili's house and he was supposed to go to his grandparents' house because he was worried.
Oscar: *turns around and sees him quickly* Pause. He's up. *stands up normally*
Jason: Oscar?
Oscar: *hearing*
Lili: *turns around and checks on Jason* Don't move. I gotta get you something in my box. Oscar, tossing the paramedic box.
Oscar: *grabs the box and gives it to Lili*
Jason: Are you doing some kind of hospital job?
Lili: Not at all. I'm a fighter. Sometimes I get hurt even when my journey is getting ruled. *spreads the blanket until she pulls his pants down and looks at his right leg*
Jason: *looks at her*
Lili: *putting on the alcohol with the washcloth* One...
Jason and Lili: Two...
Lili: *puts on his right leg*
Jason: *grunts loudly while screaming a bit and feeling pain*
Lili: Shhh...let me blow it.
Jason: *breathing heavily*
Lili: *blows it and keeps going* It's gonna make you go away. You look just like a different type some shit as a person.
Jason: Yeah whatever. How do you know Oscar and Chloe so well? I wanna know why it seems that you have been using different hits from being a partner in crime against me since now.
Lili: And how did you know a whole thing? We're in the chemistry from history. Last year.
Jason: *hearing*
Lili: I heard you passed the test.
Jason: Did you go to my paper?
Lili: Surely I did. I don't like to get wasted on your paper when it's neat.
Jason: Yeah well, real talk.
Oscar: I heard you over there talking shit. Besides, my sister is ready to take the gang to Chicago for a week. Honestly, I have been mostly a problem with Atlanta this time.
Lili: Who would make you say that? *finds the map and shows him*
Jason: Is that they are gonna pull from work into the task?
Oscar: Everything is taking off the mark in the entire town. It just doesn't stop from nothing.
Jason: OK so, what are we Chloe come in there to discuss this before she leaves for Chicago.
Oscar: Chloe saying something bullshit. I don't like to get her lying or stealing when it comes to me first.
Jason: I've seen you doing your thing pretty smoothly. *looking at the map and seeing many red circles*
All: *looking at the map*
