Chapter 20: Force
Jason opened his eyes to look at the window to see where it at until he looked at the sign and it said, "Welcome to Georgia 🍑". While on the road, he's been checking on the phone to see how many hours until he gets into the university for the next three hours. As soon as he heard his favorite song, "Regulate by Warren G" he called his dad out to turn up the volume because Tucker heard the song when he remembered the song back in the day. When the song is playing, they bop their head normally while feeling the rhythm and Tucker still focus on the road.
A few hours later, they arrived in Atlanta from their old hometown.
Tucker: Welcome back home.
Jason: *looks at the window* It seems to be our hometown stays the same.
Tucker: It is. We had already left the town for good after that happened.
Jason: *still looking at the window*
Tucker: *drives around in Atlanta on the road*
Jason: *looking at each building*
Tucker: I was wondering if you could see your grandparents sometime soon.
Jason: Are they moving out yet?
Tucker: You know it's about time when my parents moved to Peachtree City.
Jason: Small ass town.
Jason and Tucker arrived at Georgia State University when all the cars just parked everywhere from the streets the people were taking out their stuff before entering the building to get to the dorms. They both got out of the car, Tucker gave the stuff to Jason when he said goodbye to him before Jason went inside the building to get the room. Once he got inside the room and saw two beds including an empty room. He starts unpacking his stuff when he setting up in his own space.
Later, Jason walked into the hallway when he didn't expect to see the movie theater section, he entered it when he felt like this section was turning into a real movie theater he looked at the prices for five dollars with popcorn and drinks.
He left the building when it seemed like his dad was gone but the car was not there as soon as he looked at the watch to saw the clock was, "12:42 pm". He walked around the town while walking past two Atlanta residents, Shaun and Trudi, who were grabbing some coffee from Starbucks.
Shaun: How are you feeling so far?
Trudi: Pretty good. You?
Shaun: We're pretty confident. Why do I get the feeling you're gaming us with the ex-Marine?
Trudi: I have no idea. Why do you?
Shaun: You have certain tells.
Barista: Order for Trudi.
Trudi: I was just leaving. *leaves*
Shaun: I'll see you later then, sweetheart.
Jason went to the Underground Atlanta when he landed there, he saw a few people chilling outside reading books, listening to music, and playing on the phone. This place was not opened until nighttime. He went to the local shopping to check some stuff out before he went inside to see all the sneakers and the other accessories because he thought that all the stuff was cheap. He left the shop he continued walking when he saw the sign "Coca-Cola" he took out his phone and took a picture.
Meanwhile, two student siblings, Tabitha and Blue just got off the train station from the university when they made time to go back to the college. They are hungry since they are on the way to the Waffle House around the corner.
Tabitha: Too much awakens when we go somewhere on the road ever since we got back from two hours ago.
Blue: Relax, this is Atlanta. The biggest town in the history. Once we settle from the beginning we can get good grades and we can do anything but here without causing any trouble.
Tabitha: What if you are right or maybe wrong?
Blue: I'm just giving you advice, OK?
Tabitha: I heard the news so many people were getting shot around this place. I'm not letting you go outside at late night because I just don't want to lose you. Too much going on beyond.
Blue: Let's get this shit together and everything were straight. We've met some of these folks from the other day. I can make you prove it to you when we get back to the room.
Tabitha: Are you sure? I have to do more blogs about the campus.
Blue: OK fine.
Later, Jason finished taking a driver's test, he was getting so close to making progress for the driving test when he had 70% on his test when he still got five points left. Whenever he had another chance to do a test another time when he left the building he saw the girl wearing a college blue hoodie and said, "GSU" who's walking to the bus stop when he followed her and did the same thing.
Jason: Did you pass the test?
Girl: Yeah?
Jason: I'm just curious.
Girl: Oh.
Jason: I was getting so close to getting there. I can mention to GSU when I was started for the first day.
Girl: So you came here earlier today?
Jason: New student.
Girl: Where are you from?
Jason: I was born here and currently live in Oregon.
Girl: Welcome back home. I'm Kacy, by the way.
Jason: Jason. It looks like the bus is here.
Kacy: It is. *doing handshake*
Jason: *doing the same*
Kacy: It's my second year.
Jason: Wow, brilliant. *gets on the bus with Kacy*
Jason returned to the dorm room until he saw his roommate, Cameron, he moved to the dorm earlier today when they first met at each other.
Cameron: Hey, you're the dude in the next door. I'm Cameron. *gives him high-five with each other*
Jason: What's up, I'm Jason. *doing the same*
Cameron: Where are you from?
Romeo: Oregon. Everything is just peaceful. You?
Cameron: California.
Jason: Oh shit, that's what's up. I ain't getting no credit for that shit.
Cameron: I've been looking on the computer and exploring the Atlanta guide and it seems like a big city.
Jason: Do you think so?
Cameron: Hell yeah. But look, I'm trying to go out there tonight to see how it feels.
Jason: Well, I'm going with you. I ain't got no problem with you or the city. Atlantic Station. I was born in this city.
Cameron: OK so you currently live in Oregon?
Jason: That's right. I just need to back off in Oregon for a while and I need some space in my hometown.
*Later that night - Atlantic Station*
Cameron: I like the way you handle yourself. You show......respect. I've never been here before in my life, because this right here is expensive.
Jason: I respect that.
Cameron: You catching this place from the past.
Jason: A lot of things happened in this place. I didn't throw it.
Cameron: Are you coming or going?
Jason: Going.
Cameron: Probably a wise choice after you stick around in GSU. Some of the experiences are good or bad when they are trying to survive to do the assignment when you catch a good grade, it's getting too difficult sometimes.
Jason: That name is supposed to mean something to Atlanta.
Cameron: I have to be honest with you, you don't want to stick around Atlanta to find out.
Jason and Cameron were still confronting each other when the black car pulled over, the boy's name was Oscar, and he was getting out of the car for a minute and confronting them.
Oscar: Hey guys.
Cameron: What's up, Oscar?
Jason: *looks at them*
Cameron: We just met earlier when he just started the second year of the semester. He arrived back here a couple of weeks ago.
Jason: Sweet.
Oscar: Let me take y'all back to the campus. We don't want you guys to get shot in the nighttime.
Cameron: Come on. *looks at Jason and gets in the car with Oscar*
Jason: *gets in the back seat*
Oscar: *drives away*
