Chapter 16: MMMBop
The next day, the Avondale team prepared for the final game to the championship, they still practicing for the game in the next few hours until the game started. Principal asked Mia if she could sing, "The Star-Spangled Banner" for the opening game because their high school was already prepared for taking gold tonight.
As the night begins, Mia stands on the football field with the microphone, she is ready to sing, "The Star-Spangled Banner". However, Arthur and the gang are watching her for support including everybody when they have known Mia so well since freshman year.
Mia: *singing* O say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in the air
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
Everybody was cheering for Mia when some of the people were tearing up and standing ovation for Mia.
Arthur: *claps his hand deeply and talks quietly while smiling* Fucking Mia.
Mia: *waves at everyone*
Talia: Woo!!!
Zach: Way to go, Mia!
Jason: *stops filming the camera and cheering for Mia*
*4th quarter: Avondale team - 41 and Away team - 42*
Arthur: Fellas, we only have nineteen seconds before it ends up good.
Kevin: It's on you. You catch the ball a long way. Cause we need forty yards to get the touchdown some shit.
Arthur: Are you sure?
Boys: Yeah!
Arthur: Hands in. Strikes on three. One, two, three.
Boys: STRIKES!
Olivia, Christina, and Caroline: *doing cheerleading dance quickly and cheers to the team*
Arthur and the team set up the final options to the field when he tried to make it through the touchdown.
Boy: HUNT! *gives the ball to Kevin*
Arthur: *running to the touchdown field while waiting to catch the ball* BALL!
Kevin: *throwing the ball*
Arthur: *tried to catch the ball until one of the other players surprised tackle and the ball went to the ground*
The away game takes gold for the championship after they beat Avondale's team streak and the entire crowd is shocked including Mia. She is tearing up and covers her mouth and Jason pauses while the camera is still filming until he turns off the camera.
Arthur: *looking at everyone and hears everyone clap slowly and faster*
All: ARTHUR! ARTHUR! ARTHUR!
Arthur: *sees Mia runs over*
Mia: *hugs him* You did it. We're taking all.
Arthur: *hugs her back*
Mia: *kisses him*
Arthur: *kisses her back and heads back to the locker room*
