Chapter Twenty-Eight: 2013 Asgard

"AHHHH! OOF!" For some dang reason, I was spawned in the freaking air. No, I couldn't have just appeared on the rainbow bridge of Asgard, now could I? I just had to appear in the sky right above the bridge! Now my back hurts.

Alright, enough complaining. I have to find Thor and Rocket. Comedically stumbling to stand up, I get to my feet and create a Space portal to the interior of the castle. However, that is way easier said than done.

Asgard's castle is so huge, I immediately get lost. How on Earth - er - on Asgard am I supposed to find Thor and Rocket? Think, (Y/n), think. You are a huge Marvel nerd who has seen Thor the Dark World way more times than necessary. The front exit to the castle is over there, then Thor walked right, up the stairs, through a chamber, and into the guest hall. That's where Jane probably is, and therefore that's where Thor and Rocket are likely to be.

With my newfound knowledge, I sprint in the path I laid out in my mind. Luckily, to my ultimate surprise, I find Thor and Rocket crouching behind a barrier. They are looking at Jane and a couple other Asgardian servants giving her the blue garments she wears in Thor the Dark World.

Quietly, I sneak up to the aliens and peek over their shoulders. "Did you guys get the Ether yet?"

"No, we are waiting for her to be alone, (Y/n)." Rocket responds without looking at me. After a couple moments of silence, Rocket turns to be with a surprised expression. "(Y/n)?! What are you doing here? I thought you were going to New York! And why are your eyes so green and blue?"

"I did go to New York for awhile, but I think the Time and Space Stones malfunctioned or something because now I'm here." I try to reason out the events that happened, but it sounds even more stupid when I say it out loud.

Without taking his eyes off of Jane, Thor puts his hand on his chin. "The Stones' powers probably don't like being in the wrong timeline. They're trying to find their way back to the Stones that your powers came from."

"Wow, that's the smartest thing you have ever said while drunk." Rocket says sarcastically. "Alright, here's the plan. Thor, you're gonna charm her and I'm gonna poke her with this thing. It'll extract the Infinity Stone and get gone - lickety-split."

"Sounds way more simple than how the guys are handling the Infinity Stones back in New York. I wonder if they managed to get the Space Stone." I wonder out loud to myself.

"Well, as of right now, they have already either gotten it or lost it. We are a year ahead of them." Rocket reminds me. I try not to get a headache from all the Quantum space-time talk. Even though we are all supposed to get back to our time at once, technically the New York group has already accomplished their mission. And, to take it a step further, it'll take the Morag Vormir group another year to get their Stones. It's best not to think about it.

Suddenly, Thor tenses up and his expression turns into a mixture of shock and sadness. I'm about to ask him what's wrong, but when I look where he's looking, I understand. "My mother is right there."

"Queen Frigga..." My heart turns heavy for Thor. This was the beginning of everything tragic that happened to him. The beginning of losing those he loves permanently. I can only imagine how he's feeling right now.

Rocket has a small idea of what's happening, but is still confused. "I know you want to see her, Thor, but we have a plan to stick to and a universe to save."

"She dies today." Thor says, half ignoring Rocket's statement. Thor continues to stare at his mother and hide behind the barrier from her. The more he looks, the more he wants to stay here and be with her, the less he cares about Thanos and his failures.

Rocket's tone immediately changes. "Oh, that's today?"

Poor Thor. Frigga and his father were both his relics of wisdom for him. Especially Frigga, and especially for his brother. This gets me thinking. If Frigga lived, would Loki have turned out differently?

Loki.

"Uh, I think you guys got this. I'm feeling the powers of the Stones turning back on, so I'll have to leave." They don't say anything as I turn to leave. I feel a bit bad for lying to them, so I turn and say, "Good luck. I know you can do it Thor and Rocket!"

Trying to look as unsuspicious as possible, I search the floor for stairs that go downward. If I can find those, then I can find the prison. Luckily, the stairs weren't that hard to find. I'm also grateful that my hero costume resembles that of Asgardian armor in a way. It's fancy, but warrior-like. Very close to how Asgardian female soldiers dress, which makes it easy to get around Asgard without citizens questioning me.

My boots make a small clink against the golden stairs as I climb down to the dungeons. Once I get down there, two Asgardian guards with giant swords stand at the sides of a locked golden door. Thinking up something witty, I strut up to them with confidence. "Lord Thor has requested that I relay a message to his brother. It is very urgent, and I have been sworn into secrecy that only I tell Loki of the message."

"Anything that the royal family sends goes through us. Your words do not reign true, woman!" The left guard says with a low, deep voice. The right guard just glares down at me with his cold green eyes.

Voice unwavering, I quickly think of something else to say. "Look here, Lord Thor's human has gotten herself infected with something called the Reality Infinity Stone. Lord Loki has dealt with two of these Stones in the past, so Lord Thor believes he may be able to aid us in this dilemma. Now, I don't know about you, but I would very much appreciate it if we were able to figure out this whole Reality Stone nonsense before the Dark Elves invaded my home kingdom of Asgard!"

The two guards look at each other, the left one a bit shocked and the right one still emotionless. They turn back to me and the left one says, "You may proceed, Mistress..."

"(Y/n). My name is (Y/n), the new Royal Knight of Lord Thor." I introduce myself with a fake title.

"My apologies, Mistress (Y/n). Please, take all the time you need, but I am going to lock the door behind you." The left guard taps the edge of his sword on the ground. The golden doors open by themselves after the command. I smile at the guards and bow my head gratefully before walking inside. Keeping to the guard's word, the doors close and lock behind me.

The prison itself is massive, but also just one straight hallway. The cells are just how they were in Thor the Dark World: yellow tinted, see-through walls with completely white interiors. Some of the prisoners look at me, but most of them pay me no mind. After a while of walking, I get up to Loki's cell.

Before I even open my mouth, Loki starts talking. "Your abilities to swiftly lie to Asgardian knights is remarkable. However, what makes you think I'd be willing to help?"

"Always have to get the first word in, huh?" I cross my arms and smile confidently. It just crosses my mind that I've never actually met Loki before. He was already dead once I got to the Marvel universe.

Loki chuckles at my statement and sits down in his white chair. "I have found that it is the only way to get people to listen to you. To talk before they start themselves."

"Well, you should learn fairly quickly that I'm not like other people." I start to feel sympathy for Loki, but I have to remember to keep to the mission. "We have to talk."

"Never heard that one before." Loki says sarcastically. "Let me guess, an Asgardian outcast maybe? No, the people would recognize you. Terrain, then. You must be Terrain."

"Your observations speak wonders. Yes, I'm of Earth, but... not from this timeline." I sigh and decide not to tell him my full story just yet. We are running out of time. "That's not important. I'm here to warn you, Loki. That purple Mad Titan you were serving back in 2012? He comes back to get the Stones himself. And he wins."

"Tch. And why should I believe you?" Loki says the most cliché line he could come up with.

"Well, you don't have to, but you should." I uncross my arms and start to get angry. I just hope he cooperates. "You steal the Tesseract from Asgard right before the prophecy of Ragnarok is fulfilled. Thanos immediately intercepts your ship after you escape with the remaining Asgardians from here. He gets the Space Stone from you, the Power Stone from Xandar, Reality from the Collector, Soul from Vormir, and the last two from Earth. He snaps and half of everything living dies. All of this may not even be that important to you, but Thor and you actually become brothers! And, dare I say it, you may actually have earned the mantle of worthy of Mjölnir after that moment."

Loki frowns after the second part. I know he wishes to be close to his brother, but he also hates him for everything wrong in his life. Thor, the golden son, and Loki, the adopted misfit. Loki's eyes mirror his internal struggle, but again he lets his hate take over. "Get out of here, mortal. Your words mean nothing."

I'm frustrated, but not surprised. I knew it was going to take more than me giving a speech for Loki to change his ways. That just the nature of his character. I turn around and start walking away. After a couple steps, I halt my footsteps and say without turning around, "I guess all of that is for nothing anyway. After Thanos snaps your neck to get the Space Stone."

"What?" There is a low growl in the back of Loki's voice. He must still think I'm lying.

"Oh, I just thought I'd let you know how Thanos kills you so that you're prepared." I smartly say and turn around to face him again. "I can prove it if you want."

"And how can you prove it!?" I notice Loki's fists clench at his side. Without saying anything, I teleport inside his cell using the Space Stone's powers.

"I can let you see my memories." Using my left hand, the one not covered up, I touch his forehead. I let Loki see himself in the movie theater. The fight between Thanos and Hulk commences, Thanos gets the Space Stone, and then Loki pulls out the knife after calling himself an Odinson. Finally, Thanos kills Loki with the gauntlet hand.

After Loki finishes the memory, he backs away and gasps for breath. "What... you... are you a witch or something?"

"Just a Terrain that managed to absorb the powers of the Infinity Stones. I just used the Mind Stone on you to let you see my memories." I look at Loki with a soft expression. "Now do you believe me? I need your help, Loki, to save your future and mine."

I hold out my hand for him to take. After a couple moments, he takes it. "Fine. Of course after I die is when things go downhill. You obviously need me to finish Thanos off."

"Awesome, thank you. Now, let's get you out of-" Green mist surrounds me once again and my head starts pounding. My chest hurts as if my heart keeps stopping and starting up again. I see Loki's face turn to worry and he grabs my arm. We both start glitching out, and both Loki and I disappear from this timeline.

2014 Morag.
