Chapter Twelve: Reality Can Not Change the Soul
I'm not going to do a question of the chapter thing because I'm too lazy. But anyway, enjoy the chapter!

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
"RRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGGGG!" Everyone turns toward the loud noise. Thanos can be seen jumping really high into the air. He starts to land and everyone scrambles away.
Thanos lands where the heroes were gathered. Doctor Strange makes a portal to get closer to everyone. "New plan! We need to help (Y/n) absorb the powers of the other two Infinity Stones! Just help her get close enough!"
Drax and Star Lord start distracting Thanos with a variety of attacks. Thanos is about to attack them back, but Doctor Strange orders the Cloak of Levitation to wrap around the Gauntlet. Before Thanos can attempt to rip off the Cloak, Spider-Man swings past him and shoots webs on his eyes.
Just when things seem to be going well, Thanos rips the Cloak off his Gauntlet and the webs off his face. He shoots purple flames at Drax and Star Lord, and they have to scramble away to avoid getting hit.
"I'll take you up to him!" I gasp as metal arms wrap around me and pick me up. Iron Man flies me close to Thanos.
Right when we get close enough, I yell to Tony, "Drop me here!"
"Are you sure, kid?" I can feel Iron Man's metal arms grip me slightly tighter.
"Absolutely! Just catch me when I touch the next Stone!" Thank goodness Tony agrees, seeing as our time is running out to drop me.
Tony drops me right next to Thanos. The Mad Titan sees it coming and gets ready to attack me. I take him by surprise and make a portal for me to land through using the power of the Space Stone. The other end of the portal opens on the other side of Thanos, and I take the opportunity to slam my hand on the Reality Stone.
Just like the other three times, a powerful blast blows me backward. I can spot Tony trying to catch me, but I'm flying backward too fast. I start to panic, but someone else catches me.
"You're alright, kid! I got you!" I recognize that voice anywhere! Star Lord uses his rocket boots to slow down our fall, and we land on our feet. "You alright?"
"Yeah, how are the others doing?" I ask and Quill puts his helmet down.
"What are you talking about?" Quill looks at me with almost a starry gaze. "We won! Thanos has been defeated and we got the Gauntlet! We are figuring out a way to get Gamora back as we speak."
Star Lord points over to where the others are gathered. I stare at the group of heroes, confused at what just happened. "Wha-"
Quill cuts me off and starts dragging me to where the others are. "Come on! They've been waiting for you to wake up! You were knocked out by Thanos after you finished him off."
Wait, what? I defeated Thanos? This doesn't make any sense at all. Quill and I make it over to the team and they stop inspecting the Gauntlet. Everyone turns toward me and cheers, saying things like, "You did it! I'm so proud! You're our hero!"
Doctor Strange comes up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Well done, (Y/n). You'll make a great Master of the Mystic Arts someday."
Tony's voice breaks through the chaos. "I'll figure out a way to get you home, but for now I say that we all celebrate! (Y/n) can get us back to Wakanda and we can tell everyone that we won!"
Peter Parker runs up and hugs me, but I'm slowly putting together the pieces. I shove Peter off me and walk up to Tony. "How did you know that the others are in Wakanda?"
All at once, everyone stops talking. There is complete silence as all the heroes look at me, waiting for me to say something else. I feel chills run throughout my whole body, feeling the intense silence spread for a couple more moments. I take a shaky breath and finally muster up the courage to say, "This isn't real. This isn't my reality!"
"What are you talking about?" Drax stomps on over to me and I back up a bit. "We finally won, don't you understand?! It's over! Why can't you accept that?!"
"He's right, (Y/n)." Iron Man also advances, but doesn't retrain Drax. "How dare you! You know, maybe Ebony was right! You are a villain!"
"No! You would never say that!" My mind starts buzzing and I try to keep calm. My voice cracks though, as everyone starts to advance on me. "This isn't real! I want to go back! Turn it off!"
I open my eyes and gasp. I can feel my heart pounding, trying to get out of my chest. My vision clears and I see Quill leaning over me, his hands on my shoulders. "(Y/n)! Are you ok?!"
"W-what happened?" I need to make sure I'm in the correct world. What just happened freaked me out too much.
Star Lord helps me sit up and he starts to explain. "I caught you when you were pushed back by touching the Reality Stone. Then your eyes went red and you weren't responding, so I had to lay you down. The magic guy came over and said you were temporarily in a different reality, and that you'd wake up soon. You feeling ok?"
"Yeah..." I look at my arms and see the red power of the Reality Stone fading away, becoming one with me. I knew something was off the moment Quill said we won the fight. It all happened way too fast and it was really suspicious. "One more to go."
I stand up with the help of Quill and he starts to protest. "I think you should rest for a bit longer-"
"No, I need to get one more Stone. I'm feeling fine, just distract him so I can absorb the Soul Stone's power!" Quill hesitantly nods and flies over to the fight just as I requested.
I peek over the hiding place Quill brought me and my eyes widen at what I see. Quill starts shooting Thanos in the face while Doctor Strange uses a magical orange sword to fight Thanos. On the other side, Drax is using his two swords to attack Thanos when Stephen is getting too overwhelmed. I can't spot Iron Man or Mantis anywhere, so I think they are thinking of a plan or something.
Not really having a plan myself, I climb over the big rock that was shielding me from the view of the Mad Titan. I look around for any possible opening, but the fight between Thanos, Stephen, and Drax looks too crazy for me to get close.
"I can help you!" I gasp and jump in the opposite direction of the voice. It's only Peter Parker, so I sigh in relief. "Um, sorry for scaring you! I can help you with the last Stone, just hold on."
Spider-Man holds out a hand for me and without hesitating, I take it. He webs up something above us and pulls us into the air. We swing close to Thanos, but not close enough for me to reach the Soul Stone.
Peter webs something else and quickly says, "I need you to trust me!"
"I will!" I yell up at him.
This time, we seem to be swinging at a perfect angle for me to touch the Stone. Peter lets go of my hand, but I am prepared for it. Right when I'm low enough to reach the Stone, Peter webs one of my ankles so I stop falling. I swing right in the middle of the fight between Drax and Thanos, but thankfully Drax sees me coming. He rolls out of the way just in time for me to reach out and brush my fingers against the Soul Stone.
Another force pushes me backward, but this time it feels as if all the air was knocked out of my lungs. It kind of has the same feeling of when I project into my Astral Body, but with more intensity.
Spider-Man's webbing is ripped in half, making him lose his grip on my ankle. I fly backward at an amazing speed until I'm stopped by...a blanket? No, it's the Cloak of Levitation!
But suddenly, the Cloak vanishes. Oh no, not another reality trick! I think to myself. This time though, it's completely different. Everyone vanishes, even Thanos. The planet changes into what it looked like when Thanos used the Reality Stone on it. And then there's the people.
Many titans walk around the beautiful planet, trying to get from one place to the next. They are all tall like Thanos, with muscles and purple skin. Well, not all of them have purple skin. The women wear the most extravagant clothes I have ever seen, while the men mostly wear some sort of armor. What takes me by surprise the most is the children are almost as tall, if not then as tall, as me.
"Excuse me, miss." I turn around at the sound of a woman's voice. A titan woman with bluish-purple skin stands there looking right at me. "You look different. Are you lost?"
Completely taken by surprise, I put a hand up to my chest. "Are you talking to me?"
The woman nods and kneels down to my height. "You seem lost, child. I can help you navigate or find your parents."
Seeing the woman's face up close, I can take in every detail. Her features are beautiful and smooth, but her expression is one of pure sadness. Even though her voice sounds soothing and calm, she looks broken and sad like she lost someone or something she loved dearly.
I reach forward to take her hand, but my fingers faze right through her palm. If it was possible, the woman's facial expression turns even more sad. "Oh, dear. I understand now. You aren't meant to be here."
"What?" I look at her confused.
The woman smiles sadly and gestures out to the rest of the planet. "This is what Titan was like before it died. Before we died."
I take a moment to process what she just said and look around at the people. She continues, "Everyone here has died from the Great Famine. Most of the souls here refuse to let go of the past, yearning to be part of the living again."
"There must be something I can do to help." I try to think of any of the powers the Soul Stone has, but come up with nothing that will help this planet out. Of all the six Infinity Stones, the Soul Stone is the most mysterious and has the least information on it.
"No, we have sealed our fate. This was all predestined from the dawn of time. We must accept it." The woman sadly gazes at what used to be her home.
"Still, there has to be a way." I don't want to just leave all these people to suffer in this world of what used to be.
"You are a good child. I wish for you to understand that this is just how things are. Maybe someone will find this planet and fix it, occupy it, and let it flourish once again for another species. And once that is done, we can finally move on." The woman turns back to me. "As I believe one of your heroes once said 'Something isn't beautiful because it lasts'. Remember that."
I smile sadly at the quote Vision made at the end of Age of Ultron. It's one of Hazel's favorite lines in the Marvel franchise, as well as mine. It really is a beautiful quote. No, something isn't beautiful because it lasts, but because it ends. An ending makes something have value. Because this planet had an ending, it now has value and history. Every titan that lived here really did make an impact on their planet. Everyone was valuable.
I nod and wipe a tear away. The woman stands up and says, "You must go back. Your friends need you. Understand that quote, but also understand that your friends' time is not up yet, even if it seems like it."
I nod and with a newfound determination, I use the powers of the Soul Stone to leave the Soul World and go back to the physical world. I turn around toward the fight with Thanos, but I don't see the genuine happy smile that forms on the titan woman's face when she sees me turn toward my friends.
