Third Person P.O.V. (Wakanda)

Thanos breathes the fresh air of Wakanda, smiling at the thought of finally having all six of the Infinity Stones. He'll find though, that he just stepped onto unfriendly soil.

The Hulkbuster jumps up high and attempts to punch Thanos in the face. The Mad Titan simply uses the powers of the Space Stone to make the Hulkbuster intangible, sending him into the solid rock wall next to the stream of water.

Vision grabs his love's wrist and makes her look at him. "Wanda, its time-"

"No!" Wanda prepares to fight Thanos with all of her willpower, but Vision yanks her down to his height.

"Wanda, listen to me. They can't stop him, but we can." Wanda's lip quivers as she tries not to cry at his words.

"I can't..." Wanda doesn't want to look in his glassy eyes, but it's the only place that she finds comfort.

"You must." Vision slowly let's go of her wrist, not breaking eye contact with her once. "You could never hurt me. I just feel you."

Without another word, Wanda conjures up her scarlet magic and shoots it onto the Mind Stone. It hurts every muscle in her body. The only thing she can think of is what she's doing, and how its not fair. She'd give anything to just stop and turn around to face the Titan head-on.

Vision feels his emotions escalate as he looks at Wanda's expression. She looks completely heartbroken. He wants to stand up and hold her close, telling her everything is alright. All he can do though, is encourage her. It's for the greater good after all, it's for the sake of the universe.

Wanda uses both hands now, sensing that Thanos is getting closer. The Mad Titan disposes of each Avenger like swatting away flies. Every one of them tries everything they got. Every weapon is thrown, every fighting style is used, and yet every soldier falls. Captain America gets back up, refusing to get beaten so easily. He uses his shields to punch Thanos in the knee, the chest, and on the side of his face. Thanos tries to squash him to the ground with his Gauntlet, but Cap catches it. Thanos is surprised that a mere human suddenly has the might to stand up to him like this. Thanos shakes off the feeling and sucker-punches Captain America, knocking him out.

Wanda looks behind her at the sound of Steve falling, and finds all of her friends have been beaten. She uses her left hand to hold back Thanos, while the other continues to destroy her love. Vision mutters encouragement and reassurances to Wanda, telling her it's alright and that he loves her. Thanos struggles to walk forward, and finally reaches Wanda when-

Crack...crack...BOOM!

The Mind Stone shatters along with the robot who wielded it.

Everyone who is still conscious hears the explosion. (Y/n) and Hazel look at each other and start sprinting back to the forest. How could they forget? They were all caught up in the fight, and now...

No, they can still make it. The forest is so far away, but they can make it. They must, because the universe depends on it. Their heroes depend on it. Humanity depends on it.

Wanda falls to the ground in shaky sobs. She recalls the day that Vision saved her from the falling city. The day she lost someone else special to her. It hurts just as much as when Pietro died. Vision was the one who got her out of that dark abyss, and now he's gone.

Thanos looks at her in complete shock, thinking it was not possible that an Infinity Stone could be destroyed. He walks up to her and strokes her long hair. "I understand, my child, better than anyone."

Wanda is filled with rage and glares at Thanos. "You could never."

Thanos rolls his eyes and lets go of Wanda. He walks up to the spot where Vision used to be and holds out his Infinity Gauntlet. "Today takes a heavy toll, but now is no time to mourn. Now is no time at all..."

The Mad Titan uses the Time Infinity Stone for the first time. He rotates his hand, and the explosion that happened when the Mind Stone was destroyed works backward. Wanda sees Vision starting to come back together, and she realizes what's happening. "NO!"

She gets up to attack Thanos, but he swats her away. He grabs the reborn Vision's throat and carefully takes out the Mind Stone. Vision's whole body drains of color, and Thanos tosses him to the ground. He puts the yellow Infinity Stone in his Gauntlet, finally completing his quest. He admires the look of it for a second and is about to act, but Thor shoots a huge bolt of lightning at his chest. Thanos falls on his back, but quickly gets up to blast the power of all six Infinity Stones at Thor.

(Y/n) and Hazel are almost there. They can see Thor in the air and they can just make out Thanos. They see the evil Titan blast Thor with everything he's got, and Thor is about to throw Stormbreaker.

Hazel remembers she has a microphone that connects to Thor's and says into it, "Thor, go for the head!"

Thor throws Stormbreaker just when Hazel speaks her last word. The axe cuts through the beam of power from Thanos, and creates a bright light as it penetrates the Mad Titan's skin. Thor lands in front of Thanos, and Hazel and (Y/n) finally make it them, standing behind Thor.

(Y/n) looks at the scene in horror. It's either Thor didn't listen to Hazel, or he didn't hear her at all. Thor pushes Stormbreaker further into Thanos' chest and says, "I told you, you'd die for that."

Thanos yells in pain and gasps for breath. He looks Thor in the eye, and spots (Y/n) and Hazel behind the Avenger. Thanos manages to chuckle. "You shou-....... You should have...... Y-you... You should have listened and..... gone for the head."

Thanos raises the Infinity Gauntlet and (Y/n) yells, "NO!"

SNAP!

Thanos is transported to the Soul World. There's about a centimeter of water on the ground. He doesn't have any wounds, and the Gauntlet is gone. He sees a child ahead of him, and she looks oddly familiar.

He walks up to the mysterious child and she turns around. His heart stops as he lays his eyes on the Gamora he fell in love with. She looks up at him with curiosity. "Did you do it?"

"Yes..." Thanos responds, still not believing he's seeing his daughter.

"What did it cost?" Gamora asks. Thanos is hit with realization. This isn't Gamora, she's dead. And he killed her.

"Everything." Thanos finally lets the feelings sink in, and little Gamora nods her head with a sad and disappointed look on her face.

Thanos is pulled from the Soul World and finds himself back in Wakanda. The Infinity Gauntlet is fried and so is his entire left arm. Thor looks at him and commands in a scared tone, "What did you do?!"

Thanos uses the Space Stone to escape. Stormbreaker falls from his chest and lands in front of Thor. Captain America gets up just in time to see Thanos escape. "Where'd he go, Thor?"

"Steve?" The Captain turns to the source of the voice and sees his best friend fall forward. Bucky turns to dust on his way to the floor.

(Y/n) can't believe her eyes. She was here, so why didn't she try harder to change it?! The truth is there was no way, no possible way this could have turned out any differently. She hears Okoye rustle through the twigs, her king coming to aid her up.

T'Challa puts down his mask and holds out a hand for Okoye to take. "Up, General, up. This is no place to die."

Okoye goes to take his hand, but it flakes away along with the rest of his body. Her eyes turn wide when she witnesses this, not knowing what to think.

"I...am.....Groot." Groot disappears despite Rocket's protests. The raccoon stares at where Groot just was, not believing he lost his friend a second time.

Many Wakandans disappear on the battlefield, but M'Baku is spared to look around in confusion.

Wanda hugs Vision's cold, lifeless body. She feels herself fading, but she doesn't get long to think about it. She flakes away, the dust covering her love's body.

"Sam? Sam, where you at?" Rhodes walks around the forest, looking for his winged friend. When he doesn't spot him, he goes back to the others to find out what's going on.

Third person P.O.V. (Titan)

"Something is happening..." Mantis feels an overwhelming amount of sudden confusion, grief, and sadness in the world right before she disappears. Everyone present looks with scared expressions at where the female once stood.

"Quill?" Drax looks at his arm that's fading away, but no one can do anything as he also flakes into dust.

Peter Quill steps back, scared about where his friends went. Tony tries to calm him down. "Steady, Quill."

Star Lord looks at Tony, realizing this is mostly his fault. "Oh, man..." He fades away.

"Tony." The billionaire looks toward the voice and makes eye contact with Doctor Strange. "Tell (Y/n) it's ok. There was no other way." The doctor vanishes.

"Mr. Stark..." Tony looks toward the teen. Spider-Man slowly walks up to Tony, clutching his stomach. "I don't feel so good." He falls into Tony's arms and hugs him tightly. "I don't know what's happening! Mr. Stark, I don't wanna go! I don't wanna go..."

Peter can't support himself on his legs anymore and falls to the ground. He looks into his father figure's eyes and whispers, "I'm sorry..." Peter Parker disappears.

Tony looks at his hands which used to hold Peter. Nebula realizes that only her and Tony have been spared by the snap. "He did it."

Tony silently lets his tears fall onto his folded hands.

Third Person P.O.V. (Wakanda)

Everyone gathers around near the edge of the forest. Captain America turns Vision over and everyone gasps in horror. (Y/n) is at a loss for words and doesn't do anything but stare, until she hears a familiar voice.

"(Y/n)." The girl in question turns around and comes face to face with her best friend. Hazel smiles sadly and falls to the ground on her back.

(Y/n) quickly rushes over and kneels down, supporting her friend's head. "W-what happened to you?!"

Hazel lifts up her hand and (Y/n) sees it slowly dissolve into flakes of dust. Hazel continues to smile sadly, and reaches into her pocket with her other hand. She pulls out the crystals she got from Nidavellir and shoves them into (Y/n)'s arms. "Those are the crystals that connect our dimension to this one. Go home, (Y/n)...go home..."

(Y/n) shakes her head violently, but she doesn't get to say anything. Hazel's body turns into dust.

All the Avengers present witness this and turn to the Captain. Rhodes is the one that finds his voice first. "What is this?! What is happening right now?"

Steve makes eye contact with (Y/n), knowing this is exactly what she was afraid of. It hits him suddenly, and the realization sinks in that they lost the battle. "Oh, God."

(Y/n) has a look of anger and determination on her face. She drops the little crystals, her bottom lip trembling. Sorry Hazel, she thinks to herself, but I'm staying.

Thanos finds a little shack on top of a grassy mountain and sits on the floor inside of it. He gazes at the sunrise and smiles.

New York:

"Any sign of Stark?" Nick Fury asks his top agent as he drives down the streets of New York. They've been looking around the battle scenes that happened earlier today to find clues of what they're up against. They also wish to find clues to where Tony Stark was taken.

Maria Hill looks at her device again and shakes her head. "No, not yet. We've been trying to track him from satellites over both hemispheres, but still nothing." Suddenly, her device starts beeping.

"What is it?" Nick asks when Maria doesn't say anything.

"Very high energy readings...over Wakanda." Maria reads the calculations over and over again, not believing what she's reading.

"The same as New York?" Nick recalls the first battle of New York. The time where he first recruited his team of Avengers.

"Contact my client to-" Maria cuts Nick off.

"Nick!" A car turns right in front of theirs and Nick manages to stop just in time. The two get out quickly and Maria goes to see the driver they almost hit.

"Are they alright?" Nick asks her.

Maria's eyes widen. "There's no one here."

"What?!" Nick hurries over to her just before a helicopter slams into the side of a tall building. The agent stares in confusion at the explosion, not knowing what could cause this. "Call control...code red-"

"Nick?!" The man turns toward Maria just in time to see her turn to dust.

"Hill?" Nick realizes this truly is worse than the battle of New York. He pushes through the crowd, some of them vanishing into dust just like Agent Hill, and he makes it back to his van.

Nick opens the back seat door and pulls out a bag. He fumbles through it and pulls out a silver, old-looking pager. He presses the call button just before his thumb turns to dust. "Oh no... Motherf-" He vanishes.
