Chapter Fourteen: The Battle of Wakanda

Sorry for typos. Enjoy!

"Cap, we got a situation..." Sam Wilson speaks into his microphone while looking around the sky. Bucky and Natasha run outside and stand next to Sam.

Something enters the atmosphere, gaining speed and crashing down right in top of the vibranium-powered dome. Whatever the structure was explodes, but more and more of them crash into the forest just outside of the barrier.

Back in the building, T'Challa starts to get suited up. He orders his royal guard to do the same and make any final preparations. "Evacuate the city, engage all defenses, and," T'Challa turns around and points to Captain America, "get this man a shield."

Outside, Bucky sees something, or rather someone, appear out of nowhere. "Sam, Nat, a girl just appeared."

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

I look around at the amazing fictional country of Wakanda. I appeared in the field where the battle is going to take place, but there's no one here yet. That makes sense because the Black Order's transporters are just falling.

"Hey!"

I quickly turn to the voice and Falcon lands hard right in front of me. I jump back a bit, but hold my ground knowing they are my allies in this.

"Care to explain what you're doing here?" Falcon holds his hands on his hips, trying to look intimidating. I know he has his hands on some weapons just in case I try to attack him.

I don't know if he'll believe that I'm on his side, but I need to at least try. "My name is (Y/n) (L/n) and I've come to help you. The children of Thanos are coming and soon the Mad Titan will himself. We need to get the Mind Stone out of Vision as fast as possible, and there's not a lot of time, as you can see."

I gesture toward the outside of the dome where another giant structure just landed. Falcon eases up and holds out his right hand for me to shake. "Bruce has your bag."

We shake hands and I nod. Falcon tells everyone to ready the soldiers.

Tons of fast hover vehicles make their way toward Falcon and me, and the people disembark quickly. I stay standing next to Falcon, not really knowing where to go. The first group to disembark makes me gasp as all the main heroes, besides Vision, Wanda, and Shuri, run up to the front line next to me.

"Captain." I hold out my hand and he shakes it. "Tony said you'd need help, so I came."

All the heroes stop surveying the area and look at me in shock. Captain America is the most taken away and he steps toward me. "You were with Tony Stark?"

"You're (Y/n), the girl who was kidnapped by the aliens?" I nod and Natasha continues. "How did you get here?"

I take a deep breath, hiding my sad emotions. "I absorbed the power of all but one of the Infinity Stones. The Space Stone gave me the ability to make portals and come here." I turn toward Steve and give him a small smile. "Tony will be fine. He's got others with him."

For now.

No, don't think about that. Maybe Stephen wants me here so I can stop the snap from happening. Maybe I can stop it here. Yes, I know, I'm still slightly in denial, but I really think I can stop this. And even if I don't, I'll stop at nothing to bring them all back.

All of the king's soldiers are here. I stare out at the forest waiting for the battle to start, but then I remember one very important detail.

"MALEFA YA HOO HOO! MALEFA YA HOO HOO! MALEFA YA HOO HOO!"

M'Baku and T'Challa shake hands. The king nods toward his friend. "Thank you for standing with us."

And the Jabari Tribe's leader, M'Baku speaks for everyone when he says, "Of course, brother."

Captain America, Black Widow, and Black Panther start walking up to the edge of the barrier to meet with Proxima and Cull. My heart starts beating fast, but I'm pulled out of my thoughts when Steve turns to me. "I want you to come with us, if that's alright. You've met them before."

I'm completely taken by surprise, but I nod and walk up with them. Every step I take toward the barrier, I can feel my heart get even faster. Proxima and Cull start getting even more clear as I get closer as well.

Without even noticing it, I start to shake out of fear. This atmosphere is intense, and coming face to face with two of my kidnappers once again isn't helping. Steve notices and puts a hand in my back. I tense up for a second, but I realize it's him and take a deep breath.

Steve silently vows to protect the girl next to him throughout this battle.

Finally, the four of us make it to the edge of the barrier and confront the two invaders. Proxima pushes her sword against the vibranium shield wall separating her from us. Just as suspected, she can't break through it.

"Thought you'd just have clear access into a foreign country? I don't see your passport." My eyes widen at what Natasha said. Wasn't she supposed to say something else? I can't remember what it was.

"Thanos will have that Stone." Proxima glares at Natasha then looks me dead in the eye. I hold my breath but keep a firm composure. I refuse to show fear.

Steve surprisingly steps forward and pushes me behind him. "That's not gonna happen."

"You are in Wakanda now. Thanos will have nothing but dust and blood." I would hate to be on T'Challa's bad side. His tone was very solid, letting Proxima know he's not one to be messed with.

Proxima only glances at T'Challa before looking at me again. "We...have blood to spare." The woman of the Black Order raises her sword and all the giant structures start opening.

The three heroes turn around and Steve puts a hand on my shoulder, guiding me to follow him. I steal one last glance at Proxima and she looks angry. Cull on the other hand, looks at me and has a look of hurt on his face. No, not hurt, but betrayal. I would know because that's exactly how I felt when Stephen tied me up. Cull feels I betrayed him because I joined his enemy. Sure, he helped me escape, but he didn't expect me to go and join the Avengers.

We get back to the front lines and T'Challa pulls me aside. "You should go up to the lab where Wanda is. You have no weapon, and I don't want you to fight."

"Thanos took me from my home and threatened to kill my best friend. I won't let him kill me or any of you." I turn toward the forest and see the first wave of monsters. "I'm fighting."

The king doesn't argue and takes his spot in front of his army, but behind the Border Tribe. The alien monsters start running full speed into the barrier. Some of their arms and other limbs are able to break through, but are quickly chopped off when the barrier closes on them again.

"They're killing themselves!" Okoye looks at the billions of monsters in disgust as they mindlessly struggle to break through the force field only to get cut cleanly in half.

T'Challa starts up a chant. "YIBAMBE!"

The crowd responds, "YIBAMBE!"

T'Challa yells the chant again and I respond with the crowd this time. "YIBAMBE!"

This goes on for a couple more rounds until I see the first monster break through the barrier. T'Challa's Border Tribe creates a small shield wall somehow with their cloaks. He waits for the creatures to get closer until he orders, "To war!"

The Wakandans, Bucky, Falcon, War Machine, and the Hulk Buster start firing away with their preferred weapons. I decide to help out since I'm rested a bit. Not wanting to use too much of my energy, I create little purple balls of fire and throw them at the stray creatures. I don't see T'Challa or anyone else's face, but they all are shocked to see my new powers.

After awhile, Bruce looks around and notices something. "Captain, if these things get in behind us then there's nothing between them and Vision!"

I look around and also notice the monsters circling the barrier. Captain America sees this too and takes a deep breath. "Then we better keep them in front of us."

"How do we do that?" Okoye looks at the king and he bites his lip in thought.

"We open the barrier." T'Challa holds his communicator up to his mouth. "On my signal, open northwest section 17." He listens for a second before nodding. "On my signal."

T'Challa takes a bead off his bracelet and presses a button on it. It turns into something small and flat, and he holds it out to me. "Put this in your ear. It's a communicator."

My heart leaps as I nod and take the device. It fits like an earbud when I put it in, nice and snug. T'Challa yells something in Wakandan and the Border Tribe puts down their shield.

M'Baku looks at the billions of monsters, knowing what's about to happen. "This will be the end of Wakanda."

Without taking her eyes off of the enemy, Okoye says, "Then it will be the noblest ending in history."

The king leaves my side and walks to the front of the front lines. He stares at the enemy in anticipation, and I get prepared for the battle cry.

Right when the king opens his mouth, I cross my arms over my chest and yell with him, "WAKANDA FOREVER!"

T'Challa crosses his arms like mine and his mask forms over his head. He starts running toward the enemy and everyone follows him, including me. I cheat a bit by forming a portal and step through it, appearing right next to Black Panther when he yells, "Now!"

The barrier opens partially and all the monsters start pouring into the country. This is a great time to test out my new powers!

Being careful not to hit anyone on my team, I form more balls of fire in my hands and purple clouds my vision. I use my new rush of adrenaline to use the powers of the Power Stone to hoist me up in the air. Purple energy blasts from the palms of my hands and onto the ground as I soar into the sky. I stop flying and form one giant fist with both hands. As I land, I pound my fist into the ground, knocking over any monsters around me.

I just noticed that I did something similar to when Thor arrives in Wakanda. Epic.

I continue to use the various powers of the Stones to fight. Sometimes I see Captain America or Black Panther in trouble, so I help them out and continue fighting.

Suddenly, I get knocked off my feet. One of those monsters comes out of nowhere and swipes at my legs, making me fall on my back. I gasp for breath and try to make a portal so I can escape the rush of enemies.

The portal won't open. I'm too tired. The creatures start clawing at my face and body. I scream and block my face with my arms to shield it. I wish they'd just slow down!

"Stop!" I take a couple shaky breaths and realize the monsters have all stopped clawing at me. They listened?!

I open my eyes and see those creatures frozen above me with some sort of green mist around them. I peek around them and see everyone else is frozen too. The Time Stone's powers must be working right now.

Right when I start to regain my breath, the mist fades away and everything starts moving again.

"(Y/n)!" I can barely hear my name being called over the ruckus. A blast of energy hits the monsters above me and I look up to see the Hulk Buster.

"Bruce! Thank you!" I grab his giant metal hand and he helps me up.

"No prob-" Bruce gets knocked down by at least fifteen of those monsters. I'm about to help him, but something slices my arm.

"Ahh!" I turn around and clutch my wounded right arm. Proxima stands there with her sword drawn, my blood on its tip.

"You picked the wrong side." Proxima slowly advances toward me.

"I'd never join someone as evil as your master. I wouldn't even think of it." Proxima smirks, knowing she got me angry. She'll regret she ever did. I feel my eyes turn color into a mixture of green, blue, purple, orange, and red. "Choose your next words wisely, Proxima Midnight."

"Now this is a challenge." Proxima charges and I dodge her first attack. The two of us fight for awhile with her mostly attacking and me dodging.

I start to get tired again and Proxima notices. She trips me and I fall on my back. I just want to close my eyes and fall asleep. I'm just so tired.

Yeah...

I'll just go to sleep...

I see a wave of black and blue hair fly over my face as Proxima leans over me. "You should have quit while you still had the chance."

Proxima holds her sword above my chest, but my vision is already getting blurry. I'm about to close my eyes until I hear a loud explosion from the other side of the battlefield.
