Kaden took a shaky breath as he got off the plane, his military uniform earning him glances from almost everyone he passed. He looked around earnestly as he made his way towards the baggage claim.

That's when he saw her.

Maybe she looked different, as Kaden hadn't seen her in a year, but he couldn't register any changes. All he saw was Tessa, as beautiful as she had ever been. Before he knew it, Kaden had dropped his camouflage bags and was running towards her, ducking around people as he did so.

Tessa leapt into his arms as he neared her, her arms around his neck.

"Tessa," Kaden breathed, his voice shaking. He just stared at her for a moment, running his fingers over his cheek as if to make sure that she was really there. "Oh, my Tessa."

He pressed his lips to hers momentarily, ignoring the stares from people around them. He grinned against her lips, pulling her to him.

He was home.
