Warehouses are haunted

Andy's pov.

Makai ran up from the beach with Nico trailing behind her. Once she reached me, she told me that I would be moving into Nico's cabin because he is my "brother." She said that she would explain in the morning, since we had an out trip to do, whatever. Then she called it a night and left. LEFT ME WITH HER BOYFRIEND WHO I BARLEY KNOW WHO HAPPENS TO BE MY BROTHER, it's like the greatest plotline since starwars.

Nico looked at me awkwardly, "Well, lets start over, hi, you'll be staying in my cabin, sister?"

I sighed, "No,no, how about something more enthusiastic, like, I AM SORRY YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH MY SORRY SELF, I WILL BE YOUR SLAVE FOREVER, I WILL DO WHATEVER YOU WANT, AND I WILL MAKE YOU STRAWBERRY CRAPES EVERY MORINING UNTILL I DIE!!!!!!"

Nico muttered something that sounded like "I'm already Makai's slave."

"You're not very talketive, are you?" I asked.

He shook his head and led me to his cabin.

Everything was black, and I fell asleep immediately.

After some convincing, Makai got Chiron to show me the orientation film, and I now had everything explained.

I was just waiting for Zeus' wrath to come down on me. Because, Technically, I wasn't suppose to be alive.

Makai and me were currently waiting for Nico to show up, so he could shadow travel us to a warehouse to pick up some Ambrosia and Nectar. Hermes had been "delayed" and couldn't deliver it all the way to camp half blood.

"You sure nothing happened before the Pegasus Incident?" Makai asked.

We were currently debating the fact that all demigod children were supposed to be claimed at thirteen, and as being a child of a big three, my first monster attack was yesterday. It was uncommon to say the least.

"Nope, nothing."

"You sure?" she pressed,"Anything happen, even insignificant, before you saw the Pegasus?"

I was about to answer with another 'no,' but then I realized something had happened, and ankle felt empty without it.

The day before I saw the Pegasus, Flynn, the only other person who would dare talk to me, invited me to play Rugby at the park with his friends. After a lot of nagging, I finally accepted and went with him.

About halfway through the game, I slid and broke my anklet, the only piece of jewelry I ever wore. It was a simple black chain, and had a simple black omega shaped charm.

My mom gave it to me back when we were on 'good' terms, right now she probably doesn't even care.

Mom told me to never take it off, and I had become attached to it, so I never did.

The day it broke, I took it off, and slid it in my pocket, and I had eventually forgotten about it.

"Ya," I responded, "I broke and anklet the day before."

"Do you still have it?" she asked.

I nodded and took out the broken chain and cracked in half omega Symbol.

"This explains it." she mused to herself.

"What?" I demanded.

"It's enchanted," she pointed to the omega symbol, "or was, anyway, as long as you had this thing on, it masked you demigod smell, but also produced a heavy layer of mist so you wouldn't have been able to see the 'real' stuff until you took it off or it broke. Which it did."

I nodded my head, still not quite sure what was happening, but I just acted like I did.

Nico was coming up the hill, packed and ready to go. He was going to drop us off, go off to some "underworld" business, and then we had to make our way back all by our selves.

Without a word, he grabbed my hand and took Makai's as well, I hefted my axe up on my back.

"You ready?" He asked.

I shook my head no.

"Well, observe carefully sis, because you are going to need to learn how to do this."

Without another word, he got a look of concentration on his face, and the next moment I was floating through the air.

Quite literally.

It felt like I was on the worlds largest and fastest roller coaster, without wearing a seatbelt.

When I finally collected myself, we were on the floor of an old warehouse.

"That," I took a deep breath, "was Awesome!"

Nico shook his head, "well you girls have fun, don't light anything on fire, and I will see you back at camp."

Makai rolled her eyes and pecked him on his cheek, then Nico dissolved into the shadows.

I made a gagging sound in the back of my throat, and she shoved me to the side.

"Here," she suggested, "I'll look on this side of the warehouse, you look on the left side."

"Why can't Hemes just put a huge glowing spot light on the goods, or at least put it somewhere visible." I asked.

"Because. . . Hermes wants us all to suffer."

I scoffed, "I may have spoken to soon."I pointed behind a box, and sure enough, there was a big brown box sitting, and a flood light was centred on it.

I started to walk toward it.

"Wait, Andy, stop-"

Just as my foot stepped into the spot light, I was snagged up, a rope wrapping around both my feet, dangling me from the ceiling.

I turned around in the rope and crossed my arms. "You know, if you knew this, you could have warned me before we came here."

She shushed me, "That display is to obvious, Hermes may be an idiot, but he's not stupid-"

"That doesn't my make any sense-"

Makai glared at me. "I'm not the one hanging from the ceiling. That display could have attracted monsters, now are you going to get down, or do I have to do it, hurry up, we probably aren't alone."

I tried to reach my army knife in the back pocket of my camo cargo pants, but had no luck. And I was all of a sudden glad that I always kept a switch blade in my boot.

I reached up and grabbed it from my combat boots.

I know, I know, switch blades are illegal, but in my defence, the were once legal.

Hacking at a rope is very tiring, especially when your upside down, but I eventually managed to cut the rope, and I plummeted to the ground.

I hit the bow and groaned. That was going to me one nice size of a bruise.

I was about to turn around and talk to Makai, but a low rumbling voice cut me off.

"Well, there dropping like flies."

That was I heard, when I was all of a sudden pushed to the side, and a very large flaming cannonball hit the box where I was previously laying.

A large ogre-like creature stepped out of the shadows, and immediately, Makai had her sword out.

"Artemis all mighty!" Makai cursed, "Grab the box Andy, I hope you figured out how to shadow travel."

I ran to the box, but was intercepted my wind. Literally, the wind.

"Your not going anywhere," the mini tornado hissed, "Im going to send you back to your father."

I took off my axe, and swung it at the wind. for a second the wind materialized, showing a boy, but then he dissolved into wind and dogged my blow.

He ripped off my already ruined jacket, leaving me in my black tank top.

I got mad.

He taunted me.

I got madder.

He poked me.

I fumed.

He insulted my family.

My vision turned red, and out of the corner of my eyes, I could see Makai glancing worriedly at me, but she was too busy to do anything.

I have anger management problems. Even though I hated my family, that the was crossing the line.

My instincts started to kick in, and I was no longer swinging wildly. My axe swung on either side of the boy, cornering and reaping him with my axe.

By now I could barley see anything accept pure red. My arm wheeled back and I put all my strength into one swing, which hit the boy right in the stomach. And it passed right through him. Oops, I thought as my momentum brought my axe into the concrete. It went in deep.

I struggled to pull it out, but had no luck. I continued to tug, I would have just fought hand to hand, but only that metal could harm him, and I didn't really want to fight wind with my fist.

I felt the axe loosen.

The wind materialized, grabbed a stray crow bar and stepped up behind me.

The axe came out.

The wind boy slammed the crow bar into my head, and, for the third time this week, I was knocked unconscious.
