The three headed dog is after my head
Andy's Pov.
I was currently being tended to by a boy with blond hair and blue eyes, and he was trying to poison me. I mean, have you even seen agents of secret stuff? I don't want to die!
"Just drink it!" the boy said. I shook my head, glaring at the glass he had in his hand, it looked like apple juice.
"Fine," I gave in, "but if I die, you're reading my obituary." he rolled his eyes and handed me the drink. I lifted it to my lips, it tasted like pumpkin pie, and before long, I had chugged the whole glass.
"Well," the random boy said. "That helped, but I'm still going to have to stich your arm up."
When I looked closer, my wound had already started to close up, but was still pretty deep. Magic poison.
"It's going to hurt." He warned me.
"It's going to hurt when I punch your face in."
"Ok, ok," he said as his threw his arms up in the air. "Lets get this over with."
The boy threaded the needle and stitched up my arm. I stretched it.
"There, should be healed in the next couple days or two, Will Solace, by the way. And Don't worry, your friend will be coming over to explain things and give you the tour. Chiron decided it best for her to give you the tour, says the orientation film wouldn't work, pity, really, such a good film. Anyway, I'll see you around." He shook my hand and left.
But not even two seconds after Medicine Magic Boy left, I was haunched over in pain. A sharp pain dug it's way into my skull, and hammered like Jerry the mouse was climbing all over my head. Great, my skull is now named Tom. I fumbled in my pockets until I found my special pills, and swallowed them dry. The throbbing eventually subsided. I get those a lot, they're almost like migraines, but worse.
Anyway, Pony dude was standing beside me, staring onto the sunset. What was this, the Note Book? With sunsets and cute blond guys? Wait, what?!? Where did that come from? I'm just going to pretend Tom just didn't think that. Non the less, After a few seconds of awkward silence, I saw Makai making her way over to where I was sitting, looking like her foot hadn't just become Flat Stanly a few minutes ago.
Once she had reached us, Pony dude talked to her in hushed tones. She nodded her head and dragged me away.
"Hey, what was that about-"
"Nothing." she cut me off, "Nothing for you to know anyway."
I stopped from arguing, I was stubborn, she was just as stubborn. You do not want me and her having an argument, you would be there all day.
"Sorry," she breathed out, "its been a long day."
"No problem, but actually, the day is no longer, 24 hours to be exact, unless you just counting the days, then that would be 12 hours."
Makai cracked a smile. "You know what I mean, anyway, how you doing with the whole minatour thing?"
"Oh, you mean Jimmy? Ya, things are great, we usually drink tea once a week together, I guess he was mad I forgot to bring scones last week."
Makai glanced at me, "I don't even want to know, but what you just fought was the minatour, half bull half human. Half Bloods have a scent, monsters can track us like that, so I'm guessing that monster was after you.
"No need for worrying though, here at camp, we're safe from monsters, though I suggest you don't don't use electronics, it's like sending a flare up in the air 'I'm here come eat me'. We might as well start with the tour."
She led me into a big circle of cabins.
"Ok, let's start from the beginning. This one is Zeus's, and this one is Hera's."
Makai pointed to the two main ones, huge white majestic buildings. She pivoted on her foot and pointed each of them out.
Poseidon's was low and graceful in a way, with coral walls and flowing white drapes.
Ares's was red with barb wire and bores.
Apollo's cabin was pure gold, both figuratively and literally.
Hermes's looked just like a normal cabin, save for the cacadus above the door way.
Dionysus's had grape vines up the walls, and Hephaestus's looked like a living factory.
Hades's cabin was simple and plain black, I can't lie, I liked it. But then again, I also like pizza better than my house, so I wouldn't trust my judgement.
Athena's cabin was again mostly normal, but I could make out smart boards and rows of shelves on the inside, and attached to the side was a small shed.
Demeter's was purely organic, Artemis's was a brilliant silver, and Aphrodite's was a living vanity table, emphasis on the VAINity.
There were also smaller cabins, for Iris, Hecate, Hebe, Nike, you get the idea.
Makai finished explaining that I would be staying in the Hermes cabin till I got claimed, but right now I needed a weapon. So she led me to the small shed attached to the Athena cabin and led me through. Inside, whole rows of weapons were just scattered on the floor or piled up on the wall. I was like a kid in a candy store. Makai started handing me things. Manchester, nope, bow and arrow, I'd probably shoot myself.
"Here," she said, tossing me a sword, I caught it in mid-air, and to say the least, it felt awkward.
"No," I sighed, "Look, if we need weapons, I have a ton at home, we could just go-"
"No, the weapon has to be celestial bronze or imperial gold to hurt monsters or demigods." Makai interrupted.
I sighed and started digging through the weapons. Makai pointed out some daggers and other swords, none of them felt right. I was just tossing aside a mace when I noticed a leather grip sticking out under an AK47. The handle was black, and the end was a plain brown leather, I reached under and attempted to pick it up, and man, was that heavy. I used both hands, and managed to pull it out. It turned out it was a full sized battle axe. Oh ya, I thought, it may be heavy, but with some practice, this could work.
"Ah, no." Makai said from behind me, "We aren't putting that in your hands, You'll go crazy."
I ignored her and studied the axe. The hilt ran up about the length of my arm, then there was a wrapped piece of string. The blade curved up ward on one side, and on the other side of the weapon, was a two spikes going to the side, and one spike going up in between them. The blade shone black, with little veins of gold and bronze in between. (an/ there is a picture to the side, though it's not in colour.)
Seeing that I was going to keep the weapon, Makai sighed. "Fine, stygian iron, also harms us and monsters, it should work just fine, but it will take a lot of work to master. You should name it."
I thought for a while, then the word just rolled off my tongue. "Amintor."
Makai smiled, "Nice, the protector." A horn sounded in the distance. "That's dinner, I'll give you the rest of the tour on the way there.
Makai led me past a huge lava climbing wall, an arena, and we finally approached an open air pavilion where a whole bunch of campers were entering.
"Your table is over there," Makai pointed to a plain brown table where two brothers were fooling around. "I'll talk to you after supper."
I nodded and made my way of to the table. "Hermes, right?" I asked, remembering that I would be staying at their cabin till I was 'claimed', whatever that meant.
The two brothers immediately stopped bickering and slid over giving me a spot in the middle. The taller one flashed a smile, "Hi I'm Conner," the shorter one nodded "I'm Travis."
Another boy in the back scoffed. "Don't let them fool ya, the short ones Conner, he's the younger, and their not twins."
"Shut-up Cecile." The one Cecile said was Travis, snapped.
Conner and Travis smiled and stuck their hands out.
"Camp's official pranksters, at your service."
I ignored both of their hands and sat down.
"Sooooo," Conner said, sliding his arms on the table. "How's was yus tour."
"What about the minataur?" Travis added.
"Money?"
"Favourite colour?"
I ignored all the questions and the bothers eventually gave up.
"Fine," Conner said, "Just look at the plate and cup an think what you want, it magically appears."
I stared at my empty plate thinking, when suddenly my glass filled with iced lemonade and on my plate appeared a smoked brisket and a Caesar salad. Just before I started eating, I noticed everyone getting up and walking over to a huge bonfire in the middle.
"Hey, what's happening?" I whispered to Conner.
"Burnt offerings to the gods." he whispered back.
I nodded, and when I stepped up to the fire I scooped half my brisket into the fire and uttered a silent prayer.
Dad, whoever you are, it's your fault I'm born, so be responsible and tell
Me who you are, or go suffer in Tartarus. Whether that's sauce or a pit in hell, I'm still confused about that, but you can suffer none the less.
I went back to the Hermes table. Pretty soon I was finished and another horn sounded.
Makai managed to spot me in the crowd of leaving people and waved me over.
"Hey!" she shouted. "Get your but over here, were going to camp fire!"
I shook my head and ran over to her.
We eventually made are way to a huge bonfire that was glowing red, apparently the fire reflected the feelings of the campers. I was in the middle I eating my fifth s'more when pony dude-Chiron pounded his foot on the stones surrounding the fire, causing everyone to fell silent. Makai stopped her explanation of the 'capture the flag' game and listened to Chiron.
"Leo, do you have anything to report?"
A boy with an elfish grin and curly hair stood up. "Sure, we almost have about half of the projects in bunker nine ready to test, and were building more as I speak."
Pony dude nodded, "Percy, the college transferees?"
A boy with black wind blow hair stood up, but was interrupted by a girl with blonde hair standing up. "Most of the people who are choosing to go to Rome for College are getting ready to leave in the morning. I however, along with Percy, are staying here to remain councillors, but will still will be going to the college very often, sort of like a briefing, come here to do the work."
Chiron nodded, announced the next capture the flag game would be next week, due to the fact that the last one was yesterday- Real bummer I missed it- and turned it back over to the Apollo children, leading silly songs, like how my grandma puts on armour. I didn't feel like singing, so I just sat there.
The fire roared in front of me as I went through the events of the day in my head, there was a lot to take in. I mean, lava climbing walls? All of a sudden I felt dizzy, I thought it was just the realization finally setting in. But those thoughts vanished when the music stopped abruptly everyone started gasping, I looked up, and there, floating above my head, was a three headed dog shrouded in Mist. Then everything went black.
