Doomsday, Part 1 (10th x Rose)
For those who want angst but in words instead of on the screen, part 1...
The day he left her became the worst day of her life.
It wasn't intentional, she knew that, but it seemed as though the universe was all for it. They couldn't do anything to see each other again.
It was months after the Battle of Canary Wharf in her birth world. Everything was on it's way back to normal. Now in the parallel world, the Tyler family, including Mickey and his gran, had moved into Pete's mansion. Her mother, Jackie, settled in quickly with Pete, now her father, and both of them were expecting a son in six months time. Torchwood was rebuilt and restored to the way it used to be. Pete resumed his job and she herself started to work there thanks to her being qualified enough due to her alien expertise. She didn't find herself going back to normal, however. Something was not right.
She wasn't with him, in the TARDIS, like it should be.
She tried to forget and carry on with her life. It should have been easy, she's done it for nineteen years, but she couldn't. There was no way she could forget what she's been through. Holding his hand and running, running from aliens, saving civilizations, protecting the past, present and future, it was incredible. It changed her life in so many ways, and her way of living it. So if you expect Rose Tyler to go back to living a normal, boring human life, then you're wrong.
Every night, she would go to sleep, wishing for a miracle, but so far, none had come. The small hope she has been clinging onto was soon vanishing, along with the rest of her soul. Tonight, like any other night, she went to bed, but it was different.

She had a dream.
"Rose."
It was a voice. She couldn't see anything but she heard a voice, and it was calling her name. It wasn't any random voice, it was his voice. The Doctor's voice, and he was calling for her.
"Rose."
No, it can't be.
"Rose."
He's gone, this shouldn't be happening.
"Rose."
Her eyes snapped open and she sat up immediately. Her head turned towards the window, where moonlight shone through. She recalled the voice she heard. It was him, definitely him, and there was no way she couldn't recognize it. It's definitely happening.
Without hesitation, she threw off her blanket and put on her slippers in the fastest way she could. As she passed the mirror in her bedroom, she caught a glimpse of her messy, blonde hair, but she didn't have time to bother. The Doctor called for her, and he needed her, just as much as she needed him.
She woke Mickey up first, for his room was just beside hers. Also, Mickey wasn't a hard one to wake up, all she had to do was shake him. When he heard her mention 'The Doctor', he got out of bed instantly, knowing how much this issue, whatever Rose was waking him up for, mattered to her.
It wasn't a task to wake both Jackie and Pete up. All it took was Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith, both entering the room at the same time, (Jackie woke up first in panic, "Is the house on fire?") and Mickey saying these four words.
"It's about the Doctor."
They gathered in the living room. Pete lit up a fire in the fireplace as they settled down. Mickey, Jackie and Pete sat on the couch opposite of Rose, and she began.
"I had a dream, about the Doctor."
As she spoke, her mum, dad and Mickey listened attentively. They knew this mattered to her, and it was times like this when interruptions were not necessary, especially from Jackie.
"He was calling me, and..."
She continued, her mind at ease. She only told them because not only were they her family, but they also knew the Doctor. They've met him, so they would listened. Anyone else who listened would think she'd gone mad.
The moment she finished her story, they packed what they could, food, clothes, you name it. They packed for the long road trip ahead of them, in search of the Doctor.
That very night, they set off in Pete's old jeep, doing what the dream had told Rose, follow the voice.

They drove for miles and miles, hours and hours, following his voice that only she could hear across the water. Rose stared out the window, watching modern buildings and cars and buses, country houses and farms, rivers and ponds fly by, until it was nothing more than grass fields in sight.
The more they drove, the less they were sure they were headed in the right direction. It was like following the worst navigator ever invented, but it was their only hope of reaching their destination. It was better than randomly choosing a route and ending up lost, so they kept going. They have come so far to turn back now.
There was one time when they had almost given up. Rose couldn't hear him for an hour, and they were stuck in the middle of nowhere. They looked around, but there was no one they could seek help from. Jackie had called this the perfect time to rest, especially Pete, who had been the one driving.
So there they were, the Tyler family, and Mickey, resting on a deserted road, sitting on a mat that they had packed.
Jackie handed each of them a cup of tea, don't ask how and where she got it, and settled down beside her husband, who was finding out where they had drove to.
"Norway," Pete announced, reading off his map in his phone, "We're in Norway, a long way from home now. Wonder how I'm getting a signal."
Jackie took a sip of her tea before lamenting a little, "Bloody Norway, trust that Doctor to pick a good meeting place."
Rose stared off into the distance, trying her best to hear him call for her again. The wind blew her hair against her face, which she ignored. Mickey sat down beside her, and she laid her head on his shoulder.
"You think we would actually find him?" He asked, staring in the same direction as she did.
She didn't take her head off his shoulder, "Of course we would, he called for me, I know he did. He still cares, and he's getting me to find him. He still needs me."
"Even if he's in another universe, he'll find me, and we'll travel again, me and him," She replied confidently.
"You could come with us again, if you want."
"I'd love to," Mikey chuckled, turning to the blonde, "But you haven't heard from him since an hour ago."
"He's coming," She took her head off his shoulder at last, "I know he is, I can feel it. He's called for me in my dream, Mickey."
Mickey paused for a second before replying, "Alright, I believe you. Probably something wrong with his sonic. Signal's weak now, maybe."
She punched him lightly in the shoulder and laughed, "That's the spirit."
"First time I've seen you smile in weeks."
"I know."
She rested her hand on his for the first time in a long while, watching the clouds go by and admiring the peace around them.
Peace didn't last long, however.

"Rose."
There it is. There's his voice. The Doctor's voice.
She stood up instantly, alarming Mickey, who was right beside her, and her parents, who had drifted off to sleep. She shut her eyes, focusing on hearing his voice again to make sure she wasn't imagining it.
"Rose."
Gotcha.
"He just needed ten minutes," Rose told herself, "And an hour."
"I've heard him," She said as she quickly collected all their empty cups, heading towards the jeep, "We've gotta go."
Mickey, Jackie and Pete followed suit, packing up their little rest stop. In the blink of an eye, the road was clear once more. They wasted no time to hop into their jeep and set off again.

They were finally there, and it didn't take long because they were still in Norway.
They found themselves at a beach. A beach known as Dårlig Ulv Stranden. The wind was particularly strong, blowing the hair against her face, but as before, she didn't seem annoyed and merely brushed them away.
They got out of the jeep, prepared to meet the Doctor, but Rose insisted that her family stay behind. She needed to be sure it was here, and she wanted to be the first to see him again. They agreed and waited as their daughter (for Jackie and Pete) and ex-girlfriend (for Mickey) walked away.
Alone, Rose walked across the windswept beach, scanning the area for any sign of the Doctor. She stopped, a strong feeling growing in her, telling her that she had reached the right spot.
There she was at last, at the place where she would meet the Doctor after so long, but what she didn't know was that this was the very first story to be told.
The story of how he left her for the first time, and how she died inside.
To be continued...
