Chapter 23
Kelly pulled into the driveway. WOW. This house was huge!
"Who's house is this?" I asked in amazement.
"Frat house," she murmured.
We got out of the car and slowly walked to the front door. I could head the music blaring. Teenagers stood drunk on the front yard, dancing. I could see other teens and college kids in the backyard by the pool, dancing, drinking, and swimming.
As soon as we walked in, I was handed a cup. I didn't dare look at that red cup. I set it down quickly and walked away.
There were so many people. It was so crowded. Couples making out in corners, beer pong in each room, and smoke. Smoke. Weed. God, I had to get away from it. Had to.
I soon was searching for a back door. Something to get away from the alcohol and weed. Finally, I found clear sliding doors that led to the backyard and pool. The air was clear. Finally. But, the yard was filled with drunk people and people in the pool. Some were playing beer pong, but it wasn't as bad as it was in the house.
Kelly left me on my way in the house. I couldn't find her and knew that would happen. I've been ditched many of times and have gotten used to it.
As I walked toward a pool chair, I was met with green eyes. Light green eyes. Familar green eyes. Harry.
He was across the pool from me. I was by the back door I just came out of, and he was by the other side, playing beer pong, or watching.
We stared each other down, until a drunk blonde came over and blocked my view. A drunk blonde who was dressed in a black crop top, that stopped under her boobs and high waisted jeans, that barely covered her butt. Gross.
She put her hand on Harry's arm and leaned closer. I turned my head away. I didn't want to see that. It was grosssing me out. So, I walked over, and sat on a pool chair. I got out my phone and started to write something random to waste time. I was waiting for Kelly.
As I was starting to get on a good part of my story, a voice interrupted my thoughts.
"At a party, you're supposed to be having fun, not being on your phone." Said a familiar, deep voice.
I looked up and was met with light green eyes. Clear green eyes. And a mop of curly hair. Harry.
"I'm having fun on my phone." I said bluntly, not making eye contact.
"What is so fun about it, then?" He said, smiling, showing his dimples.
"Getting 148 jumps on Flappy Bird." I lied.
I didn't want people to know I wrote. I didn't think people would care, but I still didn't want people to know.
"You're lying," he said chuckling. "I know you weren't doing that."
I stayed quiet and looked down at my phone.
"I'm starting to get the feeling that you're one of those people that never talks and always reads or something." He said chuckling, again.
"Indeed, I am. Is there a problem with that?" I looked up.
"Ah, finally, she has spoken. No, there isn't a problem. I enjoy reading a lot myself."
I didn't say anything. I looked down at the pool.
Then, the thing is was wishing didn't happen, happened. Harry sat down in the pool chair beside me. That's when the conversation began and everything changed.
