Taking a cold shower seemed to cool down Natalya's skin and the ache in her chest that spread through her whole body like waves. She got out of the spare bedroom but numbly found that she was walking to her bedroom. Her mate's scent was strong and it was as if she can feel it crawl out from underneath the door and wormed its way towards her.

It drew her in automatically. She gritted her teeth and slapped her face with her hands to snap out of the haze she was in. All she could think about was him.

She needed to stay away from him. She was about to turn and head back downstairs when her door whipped open. Her eyes flew to meet her mate's who were staring back at her with darkened coal-like eyes.

"Constantin." She whispered.

He took the few steps needed to remove any spaces from between them before pulling her into a hug. His noses trailed up and down her shoulder to her neck. His lips grazed her sensitive heated skin almost like a feather. It was so soft but she could feel every single graze. A shudder washed over her body and she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"It's heat." She explained. "We are both experiencing heat."

You smell so good. He growled and nipped her skin. She gasped softly at the new sensation that shocked right through her body and to her core.

How long can they resist this until it happens?

Why was she resisting?

She knew very well why even when she those questions passed through her mind. She didn't want to push herself onto him too fast. They were mates but there was still so much to learn about each other. Their primal and animalistic traits were making it known that this was unavoidable but their human side knew there was still so much to do. So much to cover.

"This is too soon." She managed to squeak out even when she was burning for his touch. It was like every part where they touched, it cooled her heated skin.

But it can't be avoided. He confirmed what she was thinking earlier. Her eyes watched the vein in his neck pulse and unable to resist she moved to place an open kiss on his throat. She heard his chest rumbled with satisfaction.

Instead of backing away, she became even more addicted to the taste of his skin. Her lips trailed upwards to under his jaw line. She scattered open mouth kisses. She even shamelessly gave him love bites. He didn't seem to mind and call her mad but it only encouraged her further. She wanted to mark him, let it be known that he was a mated wolf. Goddess, she wasn't able to control the surge or primal possessiveness that raged through her. She wanted so much with him. Her lips nibbled accidentally too close to his scar on his neck.

His body stiffened and his arms immediately dropped from her side. He looked tortured and she felt every rejection stab into her chest. She knew he wasn't rejecting her but it hurt that he wouldn't allow her to touch him.

"I-I'm sorry." She managed to say hoarsely. She took a step forward but he took one back.

It's okay. We just need to maintain some distance. Hopefully, it will not be as bad. He replied. Her gaze fell down to his neck where several love bites sat. Biting the inside of her lip hard, she fought the urge to grab him and mark him all over with love bites. He looked so good with all her bites.

She watched as he turned his back and walked out of the room. Her heart hurt. Shaking her head to clear her head of the warm desiring haze she walked out of the bedroom in search of her mother.

While searching for her mother, the gut feeling inside of her tugged so badly. The yearning to be close to Constantin was like a constant jab in her mind. She finally found her mother sitting in the sitting room, holding onto Leon.

"Ma." Roza looked up the moment she heard Natalya.

Natalya walked over and sat down next to her mother. "I don't know what to do."

"I heard you are in heat." Roza added to the conversation.

Natalya nodded, a slow blush creeping on her face. The topic is so sensitive and sometimes embarrassing. Wolves rarely go into heat because most don't wait for their fated mate. It only occurs when two wolves have never slept with another wolf before. Roza sat Leon down on the ground and he crawled his way to a little toy box that the pack shared with the pups.

"What can I do to stop this feeling? It's making me anxious. I can sit still and focus on my duties." Natalya let out her frustration.

"I know exactly what you should do." Roza pointed out.

The wicked glint in her mother's eyes told Natalya that her mother was up to no good. Octavia walked right in when the moment was right along with her mother's scheming friend Anna. They settled in and soon the conversation went off.

They were listing ways she could lure her mate into bed and it made Natalya feel like a total creep. She wasn't trying to seduce her mate, was she? Goddess, even she doesn't know. She knew that she wanted Constantin but she wasn't sure where he stood.

The girls continued spouting ideas and after some finalization. They picked up Leon and dragged her upstairs to do who knows what.

Constantin gritted his teeth for the hundredth time today. It wasn't even halfway through the day and he found he was losing the will to stay away from Natalya. She smelled so good this morning. He couldn't stop tasting her. Then when he saw the love bites on his neck-nothing turned him on more than those evident marks. She drove me crazy with her smell and her lips.

Digging his fingers deep into his hands he took a few slow breaths. He was outside the pack house. It was the only place that didn't have her strong scent of aroma. It wasn't that he didn't want her. Goddess, he wanted her so bad it hurt to stare at her.

She had just only healed and needed more time, he silently told himself.

He couldn't act like a savage and throw her on the bed, rip her clothes off, and have his way with her. He curled his lips in when that image flew across his mind.

Damn it!

He can do this! He needs to be a caring mate because that's what caring mate does. He needed to think about her well-being first not his crazy wolf needs. Growling he stomped angrily to the woods to run. He could make a few border run until he exhausted his body out.

Maybe that will stop him from jumping his mate.

He took off his clothes and shifted quickly. In a sprint, he dug his paws into the soft soil ground and began running. His blood began flowing with each stretch of a muscle. His breathing became more fast and loud. However, his mind was fully about his mate. The way she felt against his body. The way her soft lips and tongue played on his neck.

No!

Concentrate!

He dug his paws further. His mind changed direction thankfully and he thought about his life back at home and how dramatically it has changed. Listing the facts, he knew that his life here was way better than anything he had ever experience in a long time.

The people here treated him with kindness and equally. No one mentioned about his scar and openly talked to him when they get the chance. No one was revolted by his disability-not even his gorgeous mate.

He needed to open up to her soon. After all that they had gone through, she deserves that much. With that in his mind and the setting sun, he made a turn back to the pack house.

Upon arriving, it has been fairly quiet. He entered into the kitchen and grabbed an apple before making his way upstairs. He took the steps two at a time. Constantin knew that he was eager to be close to Natalya again. He fought the bond long enough.

He heard the light shuffling and her mumbling coming from the other side of the door. He couldn't hear anybody else and so he assumed she was talking to herself. After taking another bite of his apple, he opened the door and walked in.

The sight before him made him choke on the apple piece he was chewing. He coughed and turned towards the nearest trash bin to throw his apple away. His appetite was completely gone.

For his mate stood in the middle of their bedroom, completely naked.
