The Warmer Bargain
A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
His very pale blue optics met her (e/c) ones, and she wished to run into a corner and hide in the shadows. Her face heated from pure embarrassment and shame at what she was allowing. She bit her lower lip, forgetting about the bite marks there, until she winced and retracted her teeth from the flesh. "You shouldn't give me that look, my pink flower," he whispered, and she felt a knot form in her stomach. (F/n) broke her eye contact with him, but in the process, she noted that a little bead of blood was forming on her thigh.
She couldn't help but gulp, and she held onto her jacket and shirt more. (F/n) nearly leaped off of the desk when she felt what she presumed to be his right hand, due to her feeling no nails pressing threateningly against her, resting over her left hand. "As adorable as you look like that, (f/n), I'm not going to look if you don't want me to. I'm only going to finish this bite, and I'll look away afterwards." Her hands only gripped her clothes harder, and he released a sigh. "I promise." Still, her hands didn't budge.
"Very well. Suit yourself, my partner," he replied before he focused back on her thigh. Her eyes focused on the wall again, and she sucked in a sharp breath when she began to feel his teeth sink into her skin. She couldn't hold back another whimper when they pierced it fully, and her leg involuntarily went to kick him from the sensation. Once more, he held down her leg to the desk as his teeth latched around a piece of flesh.
When he started to pull back on the flesh, her hands slipped from her clothes, and they gripped the desk with a death-like hold. She had to bite her bottom lip, or she would've cried out, but even more pain raced through her at the action. More blood painted her lip, and she felt tears began to form.
Suddenly, he ripped back, and her lips parted. He reached up, however, and covered her mouth so that her scream would be muffled. Tears now did trail down her cheeks, and it didn't help that she saw her blood on his lips while a small trickle of it slid down the right side of his chin. Once he knew that she wouldn't yell again, he lowered his hand and wiped some of the blood on her lips with his right thumb before he licked his hand off and returned to her wound. (F/n) didn't even wish to glance down at it, but she could feel crimson running down her skin.
The creature lowered himself once more and lapped up some of the blood so that it wouldn't touch the floor or desk. "I h-h-hate y-you," she muttered, leaning her head back against the wall and letting more tears fall.
Pulling back from the wound, he licked his lips again before his optics scanned over her expression. Her eyes now were shut, and she was permitting the tears to flow freely. "I know, (f/n)," he answered in a soft tone, which only caused a sob to be released from her. He sighed before he retrieved his duffel bag to remove the medical supplies. The creature, though, didn't mention that she hadn't killed him when she had been fully aware. They already had that discussion, and he could ignore the truth of the matter for her. If she only desired to acknowledge her wish to kill him and her hate for him, so be it. He could live with that and be happy so long as he had her.
"Do you?" she asked, managing not to stutter, as she opened her eyes. Her watery eyes watched him grabbed some tissues from the desk and wipe up some of the blood on her leg, and his tongue cleaned up the larger amounts of it around her wound. The action stung and disgusted her, and her hands remained tight around the desk. "Well?" she questioned again, her tone harsher.
"I do," he answered simply, applying a large cotton pad to the wound. He held it there while he grabbed bandages. "I've done terrible things to you, and I don't apologize for my actions." The creature began to wrap the wound. "It's no wonder you hate me. But, you do have a choice to quit." A bitter scoff escaped her. "But, I recognize that the alternative sucks, and I've made it that way." His hands stopped, and he locked his gaze with hers. "But, you understand why."
Averting his eyes back to the bandages, he commented, "I don't want to lose you. Like me being the only one to accept all of your decisions, you're the only one who can handle all of mine." He tied the bandages off. "You're the only one who can have these interactions with me." The creature reached over and handed (f/n) her black jeans. She roughly snatched them from him and clutched them securely in her hold. "And, I'm going to protect that."
Standing to his feet, he continued, "I'm selfish, and I know that. I'm also sadistic and get jealous; I accept that." He faced the other way while she got dressed again. "And, you know that too." A smile invisible to her touched his lips. "Yet, you're still with me."
"You're over-thinking." She slipped on her jeans, being careful of her wound, and buttoned them. "Like you said, I was confused earlier. If I wasn't, you would be dead." (F/n) placed on her black snow boots next and tied them. The young woman walked around him and waited by the door. "Now, start the ten minutes so that I can get out of here."
Sighing, he reached over to touch her one last time for the timeout, but she leaned back and dodged his action. A giggle parted from him, and he forced a grin. "Very well. After I unlock the door and open it, your ten minutes begin." He reached into his right pants' pocket and removed two sets of keys. The creature held out one to her. She gave him a questioning look. "For the truck."
"Right," she answered, and she grabbed them roughly from him. He faced away from her and unlocked the door before he opened it. "I'll see you later, my pink flower," he spoke softly. She didn't waste another moment before she exited the office. As she ran off, he sighed, but he giggled quietly to himself afterwards. The creature wondered how long she would be able to sustain her mind off of the illusion. For the meantime, though, he needed to clean up the area.
As for (f/n), she hurried off to the truck, though; she was mindful of the camera. The only issue was going to be the operating door. No doubt, the camera would pick up the sound from that, and she would have to be careful on her way out so that the security camera out there wouldn't catch her driving the truck away. Hopefully, she would be long gone from the area before anyone noticed the truck missing.
Moving over to the switch for the large door, she pressed it, and its noise was crystal clear. She glanced over to the two knocked out workers, who began to stir in their sleep. (F/n) watched the creature, though, walk over to them and knock them out again. He met her gaze and gave her a thumbs up while he winked to her. Only a roll of her eyes was her response before she entered the truck and took off, though; she did duck while driving out to avoid the camera. Once the back of the truck faced away from it and turned the corner around the building, she sat up.
While she drove away from the store and through Faller's Grove, she made sure to keep an eye out for any patrol cars and for people who might see her. (F/n), therefore, took some of the lesser used streets and paths in the town to avoid them even further. Thankfully, she had no contact with anyone, but she hoped that the creature would come right after her and not attempt to find Nick before he left. After all, he never had said when he would kill and torture Nick; only that he had postponed that happening.
Both her hands gripped the wheel harder, and she was thankful that she had gloves on so that her prints wouldn't show up. (F/n) sighed, however, when she saw the Leaving Faller's Grove, Come Back Again sign. She wished that she could've stayed longer and enjoyed the peace that the place had brought her, but the creature had arrived, and she couldn't help but feel pissed off about Oliver. He had been given a chance to forget the creature forever, to never come into contact with him again, yet he had returned and brought others with him. Not only that but also he had given away her location and potentially risked the lives of countless others.
How he had come across such information was beyond her, but it angered her nonetheless. She doubted that Oliver and that group of others still were alive. And if they were, they probably wished that they weren't, especially with how pissed off the creature had been earlier. Maybe, she should've felt bad for them, but they screwed up things horribly, and she couldn't forgive their carelessness.
It reminded her of Laura, and her chest tightened at the thought. Her late friend had gone into those tunnels foolishly and led others in also. Unfortunately, Laura had paid the price, and only Nick had made it out alive from that group of four. Nick had been just as idiotic for entering them, but he was trying to make up for what he had done back then. Oliver had been given the chance to correct his mistake, but he only went ahead and made a greater one after he knew the threat of the creature.
Frustrated, she let out a drawn out sigh. She shouldn't focus on such things; she needed to pay attention to her surroundings. The ten minutes had passed, and the creature could show up at any time. (F/n) didn't know how much longer he would be alright with extending the game. It could be a few months or a few days. Clearly, it depended on his mood and how well she played along.
No doubt it was the most bizarre game she ever had played, but if it wasn't, she would've lost several times over. And, she doubted that she would be able to pull off an escape like the last one. If she did, she imagined that the creature's rage wouldn't be subdued again. Whatever the case, she needed to keep driving and distance herself more. In that time frame, she hoped that another opportunity to get away from the creature for a long period of time would occur.
