The Redder Sandwich

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

A wide, menacing grin filled all three women's vision as he continued to rock back and forth like some demented rocking horse. All four of them appeared to be under a cursed spell. Enid reached her hand out to the back door hesitantly as if any faster would cause the creature to charge at Greta and her. (F/n) felt her heart pounding in her chest widely, but she couldn't move her attention away from the thing of her fears. If she did, he'd strike.

The state of near paralysis from fear struck up like a match, however, when the door to the kitchens opened. Greta spun on her heel and raced through the door before her boyfriend could take a step out. A crash was heard before running footsteps followed. Enid didn't go through the backdoor until (f/n) shouted, "Move!" That word sent both the creature and her into action. (F/n) leaped to her right and slid across the white tiles of the diner as the creature glided across the floor.

(F/n) crashed against several flimsy metal chairs, knocking them over in the process. She groaned as she sat back up, and her eyes widened considerably. A scream hadn't even left the older woman, but she was thrown over the counter like a ragdoll. Enid's arms draped over the counter in the front while her legs were in opposite directions at the back of it. The woman's pale blonde and grey locks fell over her head as crimson joined it, though; it was gradually dripping onto the tile.

Holding up his nails, the creature licked the blood off of them. His optics locked onto (f/n), and she froze as a giggle parted from him. "See, my little helper." Another giggle occurred. "I spared you from having to look into her now lifeless eyes." He winked. "You're welcome." The creature dragged his tongue over the last ounce of blood on his nails before his attention fixated on a backdoor slamming. Across his lips, a grin formed. "Well, time to catch the other two."

His head tilted to the side a bit. "Oh wait!" Somehow, his grin increased, and he stared back to her. (F/n) didn't move from her spot. "Don't you have their car keys?" Horror ate at the inside of her. The creature walked over to Enid's corpse and searched her pockets before he removed a string of keys. A loud giggle erupted from him as he clutched his sides. "They're g-g-going t-to ..." He couldn't stop giggling, and he slammed his right hand on the counter a few times.

"How delightful," he breathed out when he finally calmed down. (F/n) only shook her head and backed up more. "Thanks, (f/n). You made this easier." The creature started to head towards the front door as her body started to shake from realization. They'd all be killed. His back faced away from her while he opened the door to the diner. Pausing, he glanced over his right shoulder at her. "I'll meet you outside." A giggle left him. "Don't stay too long in here, or you might not even get a chance to try out that car."

Now, her body froze again. Her eyes widened. "Sh*t," she muttered, forcing her legs to spring into action. He looked away from her, but before he could race off, she grabbed one of the metal chairs and charged at him. The creature averted his attention back in complete amusement.

"Handing yourself over so ..." The chair whacked across his face hard as the metal bent in the process. Several cuts ended up on his countenance, and his head slammed into the doorway. (F/n) didn't wait for him to recover. She held onto the chair and hit him again with it, and she managed to knock him back. With the doorway free, she raced out of there and threw the chair back at him. If it made contact, she didn't know since she didn't peer back.

"D*mn it!" she heard a male's voice up ahead, which she assumed to be the voice of Greta's boyfriend. "Where are the car keys?!" It sounded like someone was furiously pulling on one of the car's door handles.

"I ... That girl has them! Enid was supposed to drive us out of here!" Greta shouted back. "Where is she?!" Panic and terror were in her voice. "And, where's that girl?!"

"Well, we either have to go back in there and get keys from someone or run on foot." (F/n) rounded the corner just as the pair decided to head back towards the diner. She cursed and was about to yell for them to stop before her mouth opened wide. A scream echoed across the parking lot before it was quieted down by the wall of trees all around them.

"Rick!" Greta cried out, racing to her boyfriend and pulling him away from the creature, who now stood before them both. Rick's right arm was in the creature's left hand, and he tossed it up and down. The human male clutched his left hand around the bleeding wound as his body shook from the shock of the pain. Tears cascaded down his cheeks while Greta backed away slowly with him and helped him to his feet.

Leaning against the backdoor, the creature grinned. "Your boyfriend actually smells kind of good." He winked to Greta. "I approve of your choice." A giggle left him as Greta stared to him horrified. "Not as good as my pink flower, though." The creature shook his head. "No one's as delicious as her." At that point, Greta faced (f/n)'s direction. Her brown optics met (f/n)'s (e/c) ones, and (f/n) noted the terrified, hateful look on the older woman's face, but Greta shouldn't have looked away from the creature.

Instantly, the creature reached forward and grabbed hold of Rick's legs. The male's brown eyes grew in horror before he started to kick at the creature and shout for help. Greta woke up from her minor staring contest with (f/n), and her head shot back towards her boyfriend. She wrapped her hands tightly around his remaining wrist and tried to pull him back. A giggle left the creature, and he tugged harder on Rick, snatching him from his girlfriend's grip.

"Rick!" she yelled out again, leaping forward and grabbing what she could. Her fingers just got hold of his shoulder-length brown locks. Greta's eyes met the creature's amused ones, however, and he shook his head before he ripped Rick back into the diner. The backdoor slammed shut, and screams echoed from inside as Greta fell back onto her hands and bottom.

Staring to her left hand, she lifted it up and saw a few strands of her boyfriend's hair there. She shook her head in denial despite the screams in the background. "No, no, no," she continued to mutter. With the courage to move her legs again, (f/n) raced towards her.

Reaching the older woman, she grabbed her upper arms and tried to pick her up. "Come on, Greta! We need to move!" She tugged on the woman more. "We don't have time!' The woman continued to shake her head.

"Why, why, why?" she now repeated over and over again.

"Look, I know that sorry isn't going to cut it, but we don't have time for this. Let's just move!" Greta started to sob and hit (f/n)'s arms away. "I know that you probably hate me, but I'm trying to keep you alive right now!" (F/n) decided just to grab the older woman's arms hard and drag her across the parking lot.

"No! I hate you! I hate you!" Greta screamed, kicking in the meantime. (F/n) was about to drop and ditch her, but she didn't want to see anymore death that evening. Two lives already were lost in a horrible fashion. Her mind wouldn't be able to take another, and she feared seeing hallucinations again.

"Fine, hate me! I don't care!" (f/n) finally yelled back. "But, that isn't going to change this. There's still ..." Greta managed to get free from her. The older woman swiftly, but clumsily, got to her feet. (F/n) took a step back as she noted the desperate look in Greta's eyes. Before she could say anything, Greta raced towards her.

Not having enough time to dodge, (f/n) hit the asphalt hard. A grunt of pain left her, but, luckily, she spared her head from impacting it. "Give me my keys back!" Greta secured both of (f/n)'s wrists to the ground and straddled her in the process. When (f/n) tried to struggle back, Greta slammed her wrists into the rough floor. (F/n) winced from some rocks on the lot cutting into her skin, and her fists opened in response.

Immediately, she snatched up the keys from (f/n) and hurried off of her. The backdoor opened again. For a brief moment, (f/n) saw blood splattered all through the inside. Just what had he done to that man? Almost, she felt like she might sick, but she forced herself to her feet as he walked steadily towards them.

Even though she didn't have the keys, (F/n) headed for the car. Greta shoved them into the driver's side of the car; however, the creature was faster. He sped across the asphalt, and (f/n) tossed herself to the right of Greta, just missing the creature's nails, which gripped the back of Greta's blouse. A cry left her as the creature tossed her back.

Since the creature stood between the two of them, (f/n) didn't race over to help the older woman. Rather, she saw the keys in the door and headed straight for them as soon as the creature glanced over to Greta. (F/n) turned the lock, grabbed the keys and bolted into the car. The creature spun around and went to open the door, but she locked it in time. He jiggled the handle before he grinned to her from the outside.

Speedily, she thrust the car key into the ignition; however, the creature slashed the car's tires before she could get the car properly started since it was an old one. She felt the car lower a little. Her attention, though, was now on the creature, who was leaning on the hood of the car grinning playfully.
