The Needier Three

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Lavender boots hit the walkway in an upbeat rhythm as a bag marked with the amusement park's label swung back and forth. Plush dolls slid back and forth inside the plastic, and she even managed to get them with custom embroidery on them. The princess had a T engraved on the front, left corner of the dress's skirt while the prince had a C sewed under his right eye. When she met the creature, she would make sure to mark it as hers, just like the doll.

Today was proving to be such a lovely day. She grinned and skipped more as the fabric of her lavender coat bounced up and down with her movement. Terry spun at one point, and the coat flowed around her in a somewhat chaotic fashion. Hopefully, though, little Ol would contact them soon. It already was the afternoon, and she wanted to find out if he had any news on the creature, (f/n) or Nick. Any would do as long as the information brought her closer to her target. Oh, how she wanted to hug the creature and just have it to herself.

When her eyes, though, landed on Gretchen and Leon, she sped up. Soon enough, she halted right in front of them. Her purple optics sparkled some when she noticed that Leon had a thing of blue cotton candy. He moved it aside and patted his lap for her, which she happily sat upon. She placed her bag between Leon and Gretchen while she leaned back against Leon's chest. Once she was settled, Leon held out a piece of the cotton candy for her, and she opened her mouth for him. Upon the taste hitting her tongue, she hummed in satisfaction and grinned. "It's watermelon!"

"Yeah, I thought that you'd like it." He took a taste for himself before he gave another to her. "Did you get your dolls?" She nodded as she helped herself to another piece.

"I even got them engraved with our letters on them, though; I might have to have the prince redone later when I learn the creature's name."

"Does it even have one?"

"I don't know." She shrugged and popped another piece of cotton candy into her mouth as he wrapped an arm around her waist. "But, I can always think up a name for it if it doesn't have one. It'll probably like that." A little giggle left her, and she scanned the area. "Where's Mae?"

"At the food court." Leon fed her another piece of the fluffy food. "She's playing some game on her phone or something. We'll meet up with her once we hear from Oli." Both of them looked over to Gretchen, and Leon asked, "Anything yet?"

"No. Wherever he's going, though, it's got to be far." A sigh parted from her, and she pushed some stray curls behind her left ear. "Or, the people driving discovered him and took his phone." Terry sat up straight, and Leon moved his head back in time so that he wouldn't get hit in the chin with her head. Gretchen placed her phone down and met Terry's worried gaze. "Don't worry. I doubt that happened." Slowly, Terry nodded. "Most likely, he's waiting until the car stops so that he can text us without alerting anyone."

"But once he gets back to us with the location, what about Mae?" Terry inquired, tilting her head some, as her curls framed her baby face almost too cutely. She proceeded to lean her head back against Leon's chest again and shifted her optics up to him. "She doesn't care what we do, but she might even resist that." Leon raised an eyebrow. "I know we're not going to tell her, but she only knows about the amusement park, not going past it."

"She did buy our excuse about Oli, though." Gretchen chuckled and grinned. "Oli's been in the bathroom for a long time." She rolled her eyes in amusement. "Mae didn't even bother to ask beyond that. We just have to make up some other lie, and she'll be fine with driving us there."

"Or ..." Both Gretchen and Terry stared to him. "We could use another method. I do know how to drive, remember?" Each female grinned and waited for him to go on. "Well, sleeping pills aren't just for the creature."

"She doesn't have anyone who'd notice her missing, right?" Gretchen asked, crossing her arms and leaning back on the bench.

"Not at all." Leon smirked. "My parents wanted a caretaker who wouldn't get distracted or have a difficult schedule. She has no boyfriend or girlfriend, and her parents are in another country. She's a loner, who plays on her phone most of the time." He broke off another piece of cotton candy for Terry, who took it quickly and let it melt on her tongue.

"How are we going to slip it into her food or drink? Won't she notice?" Terry asked after she swallowed. Her hands moved the bag onto her lap, and she removed the prince doll. She traced the C under his right eye and grinned fondly at it.

"No, she won't. The sleeping pills look like the pain relievers in my house. She gets headaches. I'll give her one in its place once we get back to the car." Leon put the cotton candy away for the time being, and his one arm now joined his other around Terry's waist. "We can explain that we're waiting for Oli."

"Him leaving really worked out well for us," Gretchen mentioned, a pleased grin settling on her lips. "He's proving himself well, and he only really wanted to be in our group for all of his troubles." She chuckled a little bit. "So cute."

"You're not becoming interested in him, are you?" Leon questioned, somewhat surprised by her last statement. Terry looked shocked too, not expecting her friend to like someone like him. Then again, he basically was a dog that obeyed Gretchen, and she did like to be in control.

Crossing her left leg over her right, she kicked her left foot up and down. Her black ankle boot slid a little but not too much. She rested her elbows on the back of the bench and quirked a brow. "Not at all. At least not in that way. No, no, I have a better use for him." Both of her friends waited for her to explain more. "Well if the creature gets too hostile, we offer him up or use him to distract the creature."

Eyes sparkling in amusement, Terry giggled. "That would work well. Then, you can knock the creature out while he's eating little Ol, and I can have my prince!" Her hands squeezed the plush doll.

"Exactly." Gretchen tapped her left index finger against the wood of the bench in rhythm with her left foot. "And, maybe, I'll reward Oli after he's served his purpose." She smirked over to her friends. "I always did like a quiet guy with a little blood on him." Leon quirked a brow and shook his head. "Though, he might not have any lips left, but that's his problem."

"Just as long as it's not the creature," Terry reminded, a slight warning look on her countenance.

"I know, Terry. I won't take it from you." Gretchen leaned her head back as her dark brown optics met the sky. Clouds rolled by overhead gently. "Besides, we're not killing the creature, so I'll have no attraction to it." A relieved smile met Terry's lips as she hugged the prince doll to her chest.

"Maybe, you should stuff Oli. You could keep him for longer that way," Leon suggested, twirling one of Terry's curls around his left index finger.

"I could, but stuffing him would ruin him. I'll get my next boyfriend from the creature's food that we give him." Gretchen glanced over to Terry, who averted her attention up and met the older girl's gaze. "I like them fresh, right Terry?"

"Mhm! Though, alive is the freshest." Her optics landed back on the plush, and she kissed the top of its head. "And, the creature will be alive for me."

Before any of them could say another word, however, all of them spun their heads towards Gretchen's phone. She picked it up and smirked. "Looks like Oli's finally stopped." Gretchen sat up straight and read over his last message. Leon and Terry waited with eagerness for what he sent.

"Tch." A scowl rested on her face, and she set down her phone roughly on the bench. "False alarm. Someone with the wrong number texted me." The excitement fell from Terry and Leon.

"Uhh! This is starting to get ridiculous," Terry complained, setting the prince doll back in the bag and hopping up from Leon's lap. She spun on her heel and stared out to the lake. "If only we had been here when the creature had been, then we wouldn't have to wait around like this. I want it so bad." A heavy frown graced her lips.

"If we don't hear from him before the park closes ..." Another vibration occurred, cutting Leon off. Gretchen checked the message this time, and a smirk highlighted her lips. She displayed the screen to Leon and then Terry, who moved back closer to her friends.

We finally stopped. Nick's partners just entered a gas station. The road that they were taking is blocked due to an accident right now, but the town we're in is Gracious Falls. About six hours from Castle Lake. I'll keep all of you posted, but head here as soon as possible. They definitely know more about the creature and (f/n).

"Looks like we'll need to fetch Mae." Gretchen grinned widely and met Leon's gaze. "Get the sleeping pill ready. We're going to get our reward soon." Terry's eyes lit up, and she squealed as Leon smirked.
