Note: While you wait for the second entry to this fanfic, I figure that I would give some context in between the chapters. It may not be the best, but it'll be nice to learn a little bit more about the infection invented for this fanfic. 

Now onto the story:

Observations by Doctor C, one of the specialized scientists assigned to monitor Subject 65 currently housed with the acclaimed ninja team. 

Notes

Subject 65 previously known as [Redacted] is the only subject who isn't dangerous to observe in short distances. A strange observation since the other subjects seem to be more hostile than Subject 65. The subject spends time screaming and has numerous documented points of consciousness.

The subject also seems to be studying us which is either the work of the infection or [Redacted]. When we compared this to the others, it was determined that Subject 65 is the only one able to do this. The other subjects are...much more hostile as shown in the numerous security footage shown in our daily meetings.

Despite these fascinating observations,  [Redacted] should still be regarded as extremely dangerous.  [Redacted]  was once a member of the acclaimed ninja team and has powers that we have limited knowledge about. It should also be noted the subject is be kept on the Bounty. This is due to the ninja's belief that keeping him close could keep him docile. Though, we have yet to be shown evidence proving it.

On another note, it should be stated that the subject has mutated due to the power that they displayed previously. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten the chance to test this theory due to the ninja's stubbornness. On another hand, I have taken the liberty of adding a transcript of one of the interviews conducted by Scientist A. This interview was cut short due to the infection's interference. As stated in the standard protocol, I have kept our real names out of these notes due to a growing fear of someone snooping around the center.

The Interview

Scientist A: Hello, [Redacted]

Subject 65: .....

Scientist A: It's been a while since we have last seen each other so let's start the questioning now. 

Subject 65: O..O..ka..y

Scientist A: How are you feeling today?

Subject 65: Ter..r..ible. 

Scientist A: I see. Has the infection tried to communicate with you? 

Subject 65: C..Comm..unicate?

Scientist A: Yes. Studies have shown that the infection will infect the brain in order to speak with you.

Subject 65: O..oh. S..So th..at was the so..source of tha...t  annoying vo..voice. 

Scientist A: Annoying voice? Can you elaborate on that?

Subject 65: I..it k..ee..ps te..l..ling me to in...in..fect o..oth..ers. 

Scientist A: What...

Subject 65: I..it I..is te..l..ling me th...hat you l..look wor...thy

Scientist A: Worthy? What do you mean by worthy? 

Subject 65: [Screams]

Scientist A: Subject 65?!

End of Interview 

As stated previously, the infection interfered in the interview. This might show that the infection is trying to keep its secrets away from us. We have tried to ask the subject more about this, but each attempt has ended in failure. 

This proves that this infection is more complex than we imagined. Well, this might be the case due to the mutation that the subject went through. Due to concerns of more mutated subjects, we have been keeping an eye on the other masters. Luckily, none of them have shown signs of also being infected. Due to the notes taken on subjects going through the first stage, we are still wary of the masters. Especially those who are still walking around without specialized areas to keep them contained. Some of the more overly zealous scientists wanted to infect some of them, but their attempts have ended in failure. 

Subject 65 is also under heavy surveillance with the ninja freely able to visit [Redacted].  The others theorize that it's to see if Subject 65 will gain some similarities to who they once were. Due it's docile nature, the subject should be kept in the Bounty so we can conduct more tests.

Just be warned that the ninja may raise questions about the morality of the center. Unlike the others, the disappearance of the ninja may cause the center to become the attention of the general public. So make sure to use the substance MX to erase their memories of whatever they may find.

"The report from Scientist C is truly remarkable though they show some concerns about the ninja." A voice said in a dimly lit room. They were surrounded by seven others who look over the copies of the report made by one of their scientists.

"It's understandable why. The ninja have already shown that they don't trust us which raises the possibility of them sticking their noses where they shouldn't belong." Another voice said.

"What makes it worse is that we can't...dispose of them like the others before. It could also lead to us losing access to Subject 65." Another person added with a monotone voice.

"We can take down ordinary people and our rivals yet the ninja are another story all together. Not only do they have powers, they also have more experience than the multiple guards walking around in our bases." The next person said before a huge bang rang out in the room. The other seven turned to look at the person in the center who cleared their throat before speaking.

"We will use the substance that Scientist C suggested in order to make sure that our operations are kept top secret. I know that this is...extremely frustrating to do, but we can't afford to lose the best chance to understand the infection in these so called masters. Meeting dismissed." The person in the middle said as the others slowly started to leave the room. When they all left, the person started to think of ways to keep the ninja out of the way.

Unaware of the future events that will occur in the following months.
