Day 2: Feeling
Entry Two:
After a tiring day of training and listening to my teammates disregarding those "baseless" rumors, I finally had time to place an entry in this journal. I wish that the others would take this disaster seriously, but they still are certain that it's just one big joke. It seems like I'm the only one who sees the big picture of what is happening. These so called rumors are causing mass chaos and instead of helping the victims of this disease...we are staying in the Bounty.
Master Wu has also been concerned about it, but the others brushed his concerns off. It's frustrating to see that my teammates aren't taken this seriously, but there is little that I could do to change their minds. I....I feel like something terrible is going to happen soon. It's sorta complicated to explain. Even now, I can feel a migraine forming just from hearing my teammates constantly telling me that everything was fine.
Luckily, I managed to slip inside my room in order to clear my thoughts. It also served to be a place where I can go several minutes without someone shoving their opinions down my throat. If only there was some way to open their eyes to what is occurring around them, but that would only be wishful thinking on my part. Anyway, I went to see Skylor today and told her to keep an eye out for any information that may come her way.
I would like to write more, but Nya is pounding the door about getting some food. Hopefully, this entire thing will get shorted out soon, but I doubt it.
Present Day
Nya sat in the living room while watching the scientists from the Center of Unknown Anomalies and Disease walk in and out from the holding cells. Probably to see how their teammate is doing while being forced to suffer endlessly. She could only imagine how it felt being trapped in their own minds while their body is being warped into something....unnatural. She could still tell who they are, but their skin is changing into a darkish blue and red pigmentation. They also gained some weird marks as well while their limbs are stretching with other changes happening constantly.
She could still remember each stage of their transformations along with their screams and cries from the constant pain. If only she could've listened to the warnings earlier than things could've been different. However, there was no stopping the infection from occurring. It didn't help that the public were constantly looking at them to save them once again. Those eyes full of hope that are slowly dimming day by day as the infections claims more people. Not to mention that the fate of one of their own has caused many of them to become disillusioned with them.
"What are we going to do?" She muttered to herself as she wondered how to save those poor people along with her teammate. As this thought came to mind, she kept her eye on those scientists who seemed to be hiding something away from them. Don't get her wrong, she is thankful that they're trying to help find a cure for this awful infection. They just seemed kinda sketchy. She wanted to head downstairs and see what is happening, but they want only one ninja to visit at a time. Saying that they don't want to have another ninja get infected along with....
"Nya?" A voice called making her snap out of her thoughts. Cole was standing behind her while looking somewhat tense. They were trying everything they can to cure their fallen teammate. Even if that meant working with a shady, secretive center like the UAD (Center of Unknown Anomalies and Disease).
"How was the visit, Cole?" Nya asked while expecting the same reactions as always.
"It was...fine. They managed to slowly say my name today." Cole said which shocked her. Their teammate can still talk, but the infection made it difficult. There were even times when she noticed the cold glares coming from their teammate. Glares that weren't the work of their teammate, but the infection itself. Luckily, their teammate has stayed docile since they had some awareness of where they were.
It also helped that their teammate still remembered the team. Shaking her head, she tried to stay positive. They will cure their teammate and save Ninjago. Though, how such a thing would still be possible is still out of reach.
"That's great so maybe...." Nya began before another scientist walked upstairs at that very moment. They stared at both of them for a moment before leaving. A stare that made her blood run cold. She could tell that Cole also felt the same way due to the way that he glared at the scientists back.
They needed to find who the center is hiding, but for now...
They had to pretend that everything is alright. Too bad that Nya didn't believe this statement after everything that happened.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
