21 - Revelations
"Hey, check this out," Clay said, handing a newspaper to George and Sapnap.
"'Probending team Ba Sing Se Badgermoles found in the Spirit Wilds unconscious and paralized. It is unknown when they will recover or if they will.'" Sapnap read aloud the first few sentences of the article. "Then some other junk about not knowing what happened."
"Weren't we supposed to go against them in the finals?" George said.
"Yeah," Clay chuckled. "Good radiance am I right?"
"What is that supposed to mean," George said, "We always play in the finals?"
"They've been cheating the entire tournament," Clay said, "a team doesn't just win every game they play without any fouls, even in the pre tournament."
"We have," Sapnap said, "We... always... have. You, you've been cheating for us haven't you. How long has this been going on?"
"I don't know what-" Clay started as Sapnap walked up to him and lifted him up by the collar.
"I want the truth Clay, have you been paying off the refs." Sapnap demanded.
"Is this supposed to be a threat," Clay smirked.
"Sapnap, you don't have to get mad at him," George said, trying to calm down the situation.
"You're right, I don't," Sapnap roughly let go of Clay. "We're down a member anyway. I can just say that we forfeit before the officials declare their loss."
"But we're not, just because he ran away, doesn't mean I don't know where Tommy is." Clay said, Sapnap froze.
"What?"
"I know more about Tommy than he does," Clay said, "So go ahead, walk away now, ruin any chance of him finding his family here in Republic City."
"What is wrong with you?" Sapnap snapped after punching Clay, causing his nose to start bleeding. "You have this weird obsession with the kid, it's wrong. Is this all just a game for you?"
"No, this is real life Nick," Clay said, scowling at him. "You have no idea how devastated I was when she died, how much I blamed myself. Then I found Tommy and was offered a family, so I will do everything I can to protect him. I don't care that he's the Avatar, I'm the only one who can keep him safe."
"Your so-called overprotectiveness is hurting him!" Sapnap said. "Where is he?"
"I don't care, I'm his brother, I do what I need to," Clay said.
"Where is he, Clay," Sapnap said, hoping that he was lying about knowing where Tommy was.
"With Eret," Clay said. "I went there a couple days ago."
"Okay, I won't forfeit, but don't expect to see me here again," Sapnap said, walking out of the house. As he walked down the street he pulled out his phone and dialed Eret, it rang for a bit before the call cut out. He tried again, he had to know if Clay was telling the truth.
"Hello Sapnap," Sapnap's heart sank when he heard Tommy's voice.
"Hey kid, I have some bad news for you," Sapnap said, the sooner he told him the better.
"Wha-what did something happen to you or George? Or Clay?" Tommy couldn't help but add the last part, he still cared for his brother, no matter what he did.
"It's nice to hear that you care about us, but no," Sapnap said, hesitating for a moment trying to think of a good way to phrase it. Why was it so hard to break the news to him?
"What is it then?" Tommy asked, starting to dread the answer.
"Clay, he knows where you are." Sapnap heard the phone clatter to the ground. "Tommy? Tommy!"
"What did you tell him," Sapnap cursed when he heard Eret's deep voice.
"I- uh found out that Clay knows he's with you," Sapnap said.
Eret sighed, "Okay, next time tell whoever he's with first, Tommy's in a fragile state right now."
"Okay, I'll keep that in mind if I find anything else. I just had to let you know as soon as I could."

Tubbo followed Sam up to another house, they'd been trying for days to follow up on all his leads on who Tommy's family could be. Sam sighed as he knocked on the door, Tubbo held a friendly smile, if they couldn't find any blood relatives Tommy would be stuck with Clay for another year.
"Hi, can I help you," A man opened the door, he had brown hair tied back into a bun, the tips dyed like green, and wore Earth Kingdom garb.
"Mr. Jack Septiceye, I'm Sam. I work at the Republic City Police Department. Me and my friend are following up leads on a missing persons case. Do you have any family members who have been in an accident around 12 years ago here in Republic City?" Sam recited the same thing he had to at every house, expecting the same confused expression as everyone else before they said details that didn't match or just flat out denied it.
"Twelve years ago? Yeah, I believe that my sister and her family were in a car crash around that time. I was in the Earth Kingdom so I didn't receive much information on what happened." Jack's face lit up. "Does this mean you've found my nephews?"
"Possibly, how old would they be?" Tubbo said.
"I think they'd be..." Jack trailed off as he tried to remember how old they were at the time of the crash. "Seventeen in a week." Tubbo grinned not only did they find a possible relative Tommy might have a brother somewhere, and he'd finally have an actual birthdate.
"Is there anything else you can give us? Names, birthdate, pictures," Sam said, every part of him expected two names that weren't close to Tommy, that this was just another dead end.
"Aaron and Tommy, they were twins," Jack said, "Born on heh, Spirit Day actually."
"Tommy has a twin brother?" Tubbo said. "That's so cool."
"I should have an old picture somewhere, I'll have to take some time to find it." He said, "Is there anything else I can help with? Can I meet with Tommy?"
"Officially, he hasn't been found, ran away from his current guardian," Sam said, "but if you do want more information on him, Tubbo here is his best friend and would be willing to tell you everything about Tommy."
"I have other plans with preparing for Spirit Day and all, but if you want to come to Airbender Island I'll run into you there." Tubbo smiled.
"Unofficially, do you know where he is," Jack said as Sam went back to his car.
"Yes, but Sam was a part of the police force to find Tommy so currently he doesn't know," Tubbo said, "So I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, of course, Gab and I will be there," Jack waved as Tubbo ran off with Sam. He still couldn't believe it, they had finally found Tommy's family. But not only that, Tommy had a brother somewhere in the world.

He knows where you are.
The words had sent Tommy into a panic, as soon as Eret had left the room he bolted out the door. He made a mistake. He had to get away, get far away. No one could know where he was going, it was too dangerous.
Tommy found himself running towards the Spirit Wilds, and when no voice came this time he went in. As the vines got thicker Tommy started to get lost in the jungle-like habitat. Good, he wanted to get lost, and never be found again. He pushed aside vines not noticing how they slowly turned from green to red until he was completely surrounded by the crimson vines. Vines started to pull him down, wrapping around his arms, legs, and neck, thorns starting to pierce through his skin and rip his clothes. Tommy's knees buckled and vines surrounded him like a cocoon, covering him. His breathing became shallow as the drowning feeling came again. His mind became dark and clouded, any good thoughts fading immediately.
Muddled voices pulled him out of the sleeplike trance, suddenly the vines started to get warm as fire flashed through the gaps. The vines started to loosen enough that if he had wanted, Tommy could have pulled away. The vines were torn away and the taller of the two, having blond hair, helped Tommy up, pulling his arm around his shoulders. Tommy's vision was hazy and he was having a hard time making out their voices.
"This is him," The other said, he wore dark blue clothing, a cape made of red fabric and lined with white fur fit loosely over his shoulders.
"I think he can hear you," The one carrying Tommy said. "But yeah, at least Tubbo thinks so. And I think you should talk to your friend like I did."
"This is what happens when you go to Republic City, you start getting crazy ideas," The first said.
"You're the one who sent me here," he laughed. Tommy's mind cleared enough for him to recognize this as Ranboo.
"Don't turn this on me kid," the man sighed. "Fine, we'll go talk to Phil once blondie wakes."
"I'm awake," Tommy mumbled, trying to pull away from Ranboo and walk on his own.
"It is a miracle you didn't immediately fall on your face," the man remarked, his deep voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Tommy, meet Chief Technoblade," Ranboo said as Tommy stumbled forward. "He's here to help with the whole situation."
"I wouldn't say help, I just owe Ranboo a favor for him giving something to Phil," Techno said, folding his arms.
"I thought that was me paying off a favor, you didn't have to come," Ranboo said.
"Eh let's not talk about that right now," Techno said, charging ahead of them and using his bending to move the vines out of the way.
"What's with him," Tommy whispered to Ranboo.
"Techno has a weird way of showing how he cares about people, and doesn't like to show it in general," Ranboo chuckled. "But I'm honored that he does care enough to come here. Don't think he'll stay very long though."
"Whatever, let's just get out of here," Tommy said, he didn't like the feeling of being in the Spirit Wilds especially not after everything that had happened.
Ooooooo. Spooky. And also Technoblade! And the mystery of Tommy Innit continues. Who is this mysterious Aaron? Only time will tell if he'll ever be revealed.
Peace out benders and Minecrafters from around the world!
