Damian

Damian's feet pounded on the tiled floor as he ran through the school hallway, checking back every once in a while to see if he'd lost it. Blood smeared the walls as he ran by them. He made it to what seemed like an empty classroom. He quickly opened the door, immediately closing and locking it. He took quick breaths. "What the hell is going on!" He said to himself as he paced around the room. Something had attacked him. Something, inhuman. He had yet to figure it out, but for the mean time, he had to get out of this school.

He started looking in blood covered desks for anything he could use to escape this hell hole. As his back was turned something came up behind him. Damian quickly turned around to see it. He jumped in surprise as it hurled towards him, showing it's rotten teeth. He quickly grasped a small pencil that was on the desk right behind him. As the thing lunged itself forwards, Damian stabbed it right through the forehead. It collapsed to the ground as red crimson blood puddled around it and Damian.

Damian breathed a sigh of relief, he thought it was over, thought. He felt a cold, strong hand wrap around his ankle. He looked down to see it was trying to bite his leg. Damian jerked his leg, trying to get free, but it proved useless. He started to panic. He began stomping on its head repeatedly. He could hear the cracks of its skull as its grasp slowly weakened, and then, to no pressure at all.

As soon as it was dead, Damian got far away from it. He didn't want to be anywhere near whatever that thing was. Now he was breathing even faster than before. He started frantically searching desks, chairs, drawers, for anything useful. Only 20 pencils, a yard stick, 6 thumb tacks, glue, and a flash drive is all he could find.

He put the flash drive in his pants pocket. He then glued the pencils and the thumb tacks all along the yardstick. "I guess this is going to have to do for now." He thought to himself as he walked towards the window. There were about 20 of those things in the courtyard. "Well that's out of the question."

He went over to the door that led to the hallway and peeked out the small window in the door. "So far so good." He couldn't see anything wandering the halls at the moment, he decided to take his chances. He quietly opened the door, clutching his newly made weapon as he made his way to the hallway.

He took slow steps as he passed through the empty halls. He then heard thumps coming from a separate hallway, like someone limping. Without thinking he jumped inside a nearby locker and shut it. Not too long later, another one of those things came walking by. Damian held his breath, trying not to draw attention to himself. Luckily, it just passed by him, unbeknown of his presence. When it was completely out of his sight, he slowly creaked open the locker and started back through the halls.

He finally made it to the place he'd been looking for– the cafeteria. He knew of a fire exit that was located in the kitchen. Before walking completely in, he glanced around the room. A few bodies that didn't seem to be moving, but, unfortunately, 3 of the things were walking aimlessly around. "Shit," Damian thought to himself. He crouched down, hoping it would conceal him from their sight. He saw a path he could take to get to the kitchen, but it would be difficult.

He got on his knees and started crawling to get behind a table. He waited several seconds before moving to the next to make sure he wasn't noticed. Before long, Damian had finally made it over to the kitchen. He opened the door and swiftly closed it, putting a few boxes and chairs in front of it. He could hear pounding on the doors. They knew he was there.

"Now that i'm here, there should be better weapons." Damian said as he searched for a few knives. He put 2 smaller knives in his pocket. He put the yardstick on the counter and replaced it with a bigger knife he had found. He went over to the fire exit door. He opened it as quietly as he could and shut it behind him.

Conveniently it led to a parking lot, where a few scattered cars were. He couldn't see any the things there yet. He walked over to a black Toyota Corolla. There were a few blood splatters here and there, but for the most part, it seemed fine. Surprisingly the door was unlocked.

He swiftly got into the drivers side, closing the door as he was getting in. He relaxed a bit as the back of his head hit the headrest. His relaxation didn't last long. Two bloody hands came up and grabbed his face from the backseat. He could hear it snarling as it tried to make its way to him. He grabbed his knife and sliced its hands, causing the thing to release him. He turned and stabbed it right through the head. It collapsed to the ground like a rag doll. This time, he waiting a few minutes, just staring, making sure that whatever that was, was dead.

Once he was sure, he began searching its body. It wore a ripped and bloody blouse, and a business skirt in the same condition. When searching, he saw a small bite mark on what he presumed was a woman. He investigated it further but didn't know what was the cause of it. He finally found what he was looking for– the car keys. He tried putting the key in the ignition, and, to his luck, it started.

Damian small smiled as he put his hands on the wheel. He pushed down on the gas pedal and pulled out of the parking lot, into an empty road, filled with things, bodies, and scattered cars. He wasn't paying any attention to anything though. All he could think about is getting back to the manor, back to is father, back to his family.
