Bruce

Bruce was driving through the streets of Gotham, on his way to work, like normal. It wasn't normal though. The usual crowded streets were now completely empty. Of course Bruce was suspicious of this. Gotham was never this quiet. He kept driving, looking around for someone, anyone. No one ever came into sight.

Bruce made it to Wayne Enterprises after a few minutes. He got out of his car and up to the front door, looking around confused the whole way. He walked in and almost immediately, Batman mode kicked in. Blood was covering the walls and a few scattered body parts, like arms, legs, hands, were laying around the floor.

Bruce started walking down one of the hallways, following a blood trail on the floor. He followed the blood until it turned to the left, leading down a different hall. Bruce crouched down, leaning against the wall. He peeked over the corner and saw..something. Even Bruce, the worlds greatest detective, had no clue what he was looking at.

All he knew was that it definitely wasn't human, and if it was, a disgusting one at that. The thing seemed to be just wandering around, snarling. It was wearing a bloody suit and was missing one of its shoes.

When Bruce was getting up from his crouched position on the floor, his leg cracked a bit. (not saying he's old, I do that too..well he may be a little old) The thing immediately looked in his direction and started limping towards him. Bruce quickly grabbed his briefcase and as it was about to turn the corner, he hit it in the gut with it. The thing collapsed to the ground, but it hadn't given up yet. It began to crawl towards Bruce. Its bony, ripped fingers clawed at the ground as it tried to make its way to Bruce.

Bruce stepped back, trying to avoid it. It wasn't very fast so it wasn't hard for Bruce to simply step around it. Even if he was the Batman, he was concerned as to why, what, and how this thing was in Wayne Enterprises for and if there were more. He walked down the halls yet again, more alert now that he knew what he was facing.

He made his way to the security room and tried turning on the cameras. To his satisfaction, the screens turned on. He could now see all over the building. On the floor was the security guard, dead. Bruce hated to do it, but he had to. He searched the body for anything he could use.

All he could find was pepper spray, handcuffs, and a pistol. He took the pepper spray and handcuffs but he couldn't bring himself to pick up the pistol straight away. After some thinking he finally took the pistol and the holster. He strapped the holster on his belt and put the gun in it. "Last resort," he promised to himself.

After he was done looting the body, he walked over to screens and examined each room. Three things in Alexandria's office, (random name) 2 in the cafeteria, 1 in his own office, and 3 wondering the main halls, blocking his way to his car. "Shit." He thought to himself. He'd have to find a different way back to his car.

He began planning a new route through the building. After a few more quick glances, he stepped out of the security room and started his escape.

Instead of going back the way he came, he went the exact opposite. He made his way to the cubicles, crouching every so often to avoid an abnormal, he was now calling them. He passed the cubicles and walked down a different hallway, passing several more bodies. It hurt him seeing them. These were people he knew, employees he'd had small talk with at some point, people he'd never get to know, people he'd never get to save.

He shook those thoughts off as he finally made it to the main lobby. 3 abnormals were blocking the door like he suspected. He thought of ways he could get at least 1 of them out of the way. After a few seconds he got an idea. As disgusting as it was, he picked up a scattered hand on the ground. He then threw it over to the hall opposite of him. Two abnormals began walking towards the noise, barring their teeth like a threatened wolf.

Bruce ran up to the remaining abnormal, instantly elbowing the side of its head. The abnormal was pushed back by the impact, but headed towards him anyways, growling. Bruce didn't skip a beat to hit it with his brief case, then swiftly spinning behind it, kicking the backs of its knees. It quickly collapsed to the ground.

Bruce took his chance and ran out the front door, back to his car and in seconds was already turning on the ignition. He began driving towards the only place he could think to go– the manor. He hoped that Alfred, Damian, everyone, was ok. Although he didn't want it to be true, he thought the worst for his family. Anything could happen now.
