I love u guys <33

Jimin and Jungkook sat across from each other, the fallen angel reaching across and brushing a few pieces of hair out of his glossy eyes. The two of them seemed to be in awe of each other, the realization that their fight might be over finally settling in.

"I'm sorry I left you." Jimin whispered, averting his gaze to a charred feather that lay on the ground beside Jungkook. "I really thought I would never see you again as I was falling, I didn't think I deserved to."

Jungkook exhaled, wincing at the pain in his shoulder as he leaned closer to Jimin.

"I don't want to hear you say sorry to me." He spoke, tilting Jimin's chin up to make the demon make eye contact with him. He had never forgotten how beautiful Jimin's were, in this form. They really did shine like rubies. "If you had come with me, or not, we probably would have ended up here anyway." The tiniest of smiles played on his lips.

The crackle of flames around them had seemed become more noticeable.

"But.." Jimin glanced at the blood on Jungkook's hand that he had wiped off of his shoulder. "I cost you your angel status." He couldn't help but bring it up, though he was pretty sure he already knew what Jungkook would say in return. It was just an extremely big loss, he couldn't help but feel sorry.

Jungkook scoffed, not surprising Jimin one bit.

"Like I care about that." He smiled, reaching up and brushing a few soft pieces of hair out of Jimin's eyes. "As I was falling, I did feel a bit of regret for a moment." He admitted. "I think it was because of how much effort it took to become an angel; but I ended up realizing that I wouldn't have wanted to be there anyway, if I wasn't with you."

Jimin's lips quivered, the corners of his mouth turning up into a sad smile. "Besides, you've given up your life for me multiple times, the least I could do would be give up some wings."

Jimin laughed, happy tears spilling out onto his cheeks.

"Are you forgetting that you gave up your soul too?" He asked, Jungkook's eyebrows shooting up at his words.

"I did, didn't I?" He chuckled. "I guess we're even then." Jimin giggled and nodded, looking down and closing his eyes.

He couldn't remember the last time he had felt like this. Him and Jungkook, no care in the world, not running from anything or fighting against anyone - just sitting across from one another and talking to each other. Who would have thought that something so mundane could make his heart feel so full.

"Jimin, I know this is a big moment but.." Jungkook's head snapped over to who spoke, locking eyes with Taehyung and watching the demon as he held back tears. "Do you think we could say hello too?"

Jimin chuckled and nodded, standing up slowly and brushing off his legs. He extended a hand down to Jungkook, helping the brunette up slowly. Jungkook looked across all of the other sins. His friends, his support system, the people who had shaped him.

He extended his arms out, and smiled.

"Well, come here then."

It felt like a scene from a movie, as Jimin watched all of the demons in the room race over to Jungkook and swarm him in a group hug. Taehyung and Yoongi couldn't hold back their tears, clutching onto Jungkook for dear life and sobbing into his shoulders. Hoseok looked relieved, his eye closed as he wrapped his arms around the younger boy. Seokjin and Namjoon formed the outside of the hug, keeping everyone close.

"Your shoulders, Kook." Jimin couldn't help but add, wincing at the pressure that was being put against his wounds.

"It doesn't matter right now." Jungkook smiled, looking over at Jimin with a warm, affectionate gaze. "You come here too."

Of course Jimin complied, completing the last piece of the hug, and sighing out a long breath of relief. This was what they had been waiting for. To just be able to do this, without punishment. It was unbelievable that this day had finally come.

Everyone slowly let go of Jungkook one by one, each one of their touches lingering. It was if nobody could believe that this was actually real.

"Lucifer, thank you for everything." Finally, Jungkook had addressed the last person in the room he hadn't spoken to. She stood off to the side, long black nails clicking against each other as she fiddled with her fingers. She looked at Jungkook when he spoke, her eyes having the same internal flame he had remembered.

"Me?" She was obviously taken aback, her heels clicking on the stone floor as she walked over slowly. "I don't really think I deserve a thank you, Jungkook."

Jungkook shook his head, taking Jimin's hand and walking over to her to complete the distance between them.

"In the beginning, it was tough - but we never would have come to this conclusion, if it wasn't for your change of heart." He looked over at Jimin, who nodded and smiled. It was true after all, though at first it was a bit of a tough pill to swallow.

"Thank you." Jimin seconded. "It really is true, thank you for finally letting us have a safe place."

The devil's lips twitched, the demon's could tell she was trying to hold back a smile and keep her composure. She caved in though, her face softening into a smile. There weren't many times that the demons had seen a genuine smile be displayed on the devil's face, and so it was almost unnerving, but it was clear that there was no malice in her expression.

"I'm not going to lie to you, it's a bit odd for you to call this place your 'safe space', but it's really all I can offer." She gazed upon all of her creations, before letting her eyes rest on Jungkook once more. "I've just.. I have never seen something like this happen in the entire time I've been around." She admitted. "It has been one of the only times, I felt powerless to something."

She reached up and smoothed down a few stray pieces of her hair, before reaching down and fiddling with the ring on her finger that Jungkook had given her. It felt like so long ago now. "And maybe I'm letting you stay down here for my sake as well." She looked across the small crowd of demons that stood in front of her. Sometimes she forgot the real reason she created them in the first place, recently she had found herself not caring. "It's nice to have company down here, I've learned."

Jimin looked beside him and watched as Seokjin and Namjoon clasped hands, squeezing them tightly. He noticed Taehyung give Yoongi a silent high five, before turning to his other side and wrapping his arm around Hoseok's shoulder.

Was this what it was like, to live freely?

He returned his gaze to Jungkook, leaning to the side and holding onto the brunette's arm. He felt so safe, a comfortable warmth blooming in his chest and tingling from his head to his toes. The best part, was that no pain followed.

The devil waved her hand, a command for them to follow, and turned to begin walking to her throne. There were now two black benches that were placed on either side of it, red cushions on them matching the one of the devil's own throne.

The devil walked up to her throne wordlessly, before turning around and taking a seat. She crossed one leg over the other one, looking across her demons with an expectant gaze. "Well, aren't you going to take a seat?"

It wasn't long before six demons and one fallen angel were piling themselves onto the benches next to the devil, marvelling at the fact that they were being given the honour to sit next to her.

Taehyung shifted in his seat next to Yoongi, before looking next to him and resting his gaze on the devil. It seemed like not long ago, he would have been punished for not kneeling in front of her.

Now they sat beside each other comfortably.

"So does this mean we're like, kings of hell?" The devil couldn't help but chuckle at Taehyung's question, shaking her head softly.

"No." She giggled. "I think I'd just rather keep you all close by, from now on."

Though they were in hell, the atmosphere was so light and airy. There wasn't a single worry in the world for any of them. Jimin couldn't find one thing that would make the situation better, no matter how many times he wracked his brain.

He turned his head, locking eyes with Jungkook and smiling softly. He brought his hand up to brush through Jungkook's soft brown hair, his smile only growing as he felt two tiny horns beginning to sprout out of Jungkook's head. Jimin couldn't even help it when tears began to well up in his eyes once more, his heart feeling so full when he looked at Jungkook.

Jimin closed the distance between them, hands cupping Jungkook's face as their lips crashed into each other. It was unlike anything either of them had ever truly felt. Their lips moved in sync, hands gripping each other in a way that told that they were both still so scared to let go. It was just love, and fireworks, and explosions. Every single cliche about what love felt like unfolded in that one moment.

The taste of salt met Jimin's tongue, but he wasn't sure who's tears they were. He felt like he had waited decades to have Jungkook's lips on his again.

He finally pulled away, eyes scanning across Jungkook's expression. He was crying, tear tracks shining on his already flushed face. His kiss swollen lips, trembled slightly. Jimin brought used his thumb to swipe a few of these tears away.

"I just still can't believe you're here." He sniffled, watching as Jungkook blinked away a few more tears. The brunette smiled softly, and nodded, his eyes soft and full of affection.

"Angel, demon, or human." Jungkook replied, bringing one of his hands down to hold Jimin's. They were just as soft as he remembered. "I'll be with you, always."

Jimin sighed happily, nodding and squeezing Jungkook's hand tightly.

"I know."

a/n:
We did it!! This is officially the last chapter of infatuation! I really didn't want this to end sadly, so I hope that you're okay with a lovey dovey ending and not the normal sad angsty endings I love to do so much
Thank you to everyone who stuck around until the end. I started writing Lust in 2017, which is quite awhile ago if you put it in perspective! I think I kind of always knew in the back of my head that I was going to come back around and finish this, I love this plot too much to forget about it
Nothing makes me happier than being able to finally give you guys an ending
I love you all to the moon and back
thank you dearly

- Charlie :)
